자연 형태 보석의 난집에 관한 연구 - 귀금속 주조를 중심으로

Throughout the ages & sexes, to seek a beauty has been expressed today a various aspects as one of the basic human's needs or wants. A typical approach can be seen the wearing of personal ornaments & decorations from a primitive period's ornaments made of bones to today’s the brilliant jewel and has been changed by the social identity. In particular, the contemporary jewelry has used in very diverse purposes, for example, pursuit an aesthetic sense with the expression of personality & liquid resources, in relation to that kind is so widespread. The gemstone would be described to upgrade and enhance these ornaments's beauty & liquid resources, also its efficient representation is determined by how to make the setting. In other words, the setting of gemstone, considering the overall design, should be made to fit the shape and transparency to exert its best & highest value. There are several methods to setting of gemstone and this research, using wax jewelry casting to produce 'Setting', specially studies about heteromorphy gem 'Setting' In relation to that, this is will be a helpful to beginners to learn the jewelry who are in the difficulty in making a 'Setting' with a metal.

조선시대 궁중혼례용 ‘진주선(眞珠扇)’의 받침못을 통해 본 감장(嵌裝)기법 고찰

국립고궁박물관 소장 진주선은 궁중혼례에 사용된 화려한 보석장식 부채로, 현재는 보석 장식이 사라진 상태이다. 유물의 명칭처럼 진주선이 처음 제작 당시에는 진주 등의 보석이 감장되었는지를 유추하기 위해 현재 남아 있는 받침못의 표면관찰과 성분분석 결과를 바탕으로 유사한 기법의 유물들과 비교하였다. 연구 결과 받침못을 따라 둥글게 돌면서 표면을 덮고 있는 회색의 이물질은 주석(Sn)-납(Pb) 합금이며, 못의 꺾인 흔적이 찍혀 있는 점을 보아 납땜은 아닌 것으로 보인다. 난집이 적용된 유물들에서 보이는 충진재의 흔적을 통해 국립고궁박물관 소장 진주선은 처음 제작 당시에는 원통형의 난집에 주석-납 합금을 채워서 진주나 보석이 고정될 수 있도록 하는 감장기법이 사용되었을 것으로 여겨진다. The term jinjuseon(眞珠扇), meaning literally a pearl fan, refers to a fan decorated with precious stones for use in royal wedding ceremonies. This study examined a jinjuseon housed in the National Palace Museum of Korea (NPMK) which currently lacks jeweled ornaments. In order to determine whether pearls or other gemstone settings originally ornamented the fan, the surface and composition of the gray materials remaining on the washers were investigated and the fan was compared with other artifacts decorated using similar techniques. The analysis revealed that the gray materials visible around the round rims of the washers contain tin-lead alloys. The traces of folded nails suggest that soldering was not applied. The remains of the infill observed in other artifacts with bezel settings indicate that this jinjuseon in the NPMK collection was produced using abezel setting technique where in pearls or other gemstones were affixed by filling cylindrical bezels with tin-lead alloys.
