        한국어 모음의지각 훈련

        윤은경 ( Eun Kyung Yoon ) 한국외국어대학교 외국어교육연구소 2013 외국어교육연구 Vol.27 No.2

이 논문의 연구 목적은 한국어 모음의 지각적 훈련이 산출에 미치는 영향에 대해서 살펴보는 것이다. 영어권 한국어 학습자들을 8명을 대상으로 지각 훈련을 통해 한국어 단모음 /i, e, ε, a, Λ, o, u, i,/을 가르쳤다. The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of perceptual training of Korean vowels on speech production. Eight Korean language learners (all native English speakers) were taught Korean monophthongs /i, e, □, a, □, o, u, □/. The subjects were divided into two groups. During three sessions for two weeks, one group received pronunciation education by listening to and following the native speakers` utterances using audiolingual methods, and the other group received perceptual training by discussing phonetic similarities between language 1 (L1) and language 2 (L2), and paying attention to phonetic differences between the two languages, and repeating the ABX test process. No significant differences were found between the experimental group and the control group in the post-test of perception and production, but the experimental group, which received perceptual training, showed improvement in perception by 19% and production by 9%, while the control group exhibited improvement in perception by 9% and production by 13%. In other words, production capabilities of the group that received perceptual training were slightly enhanced from the result of the pre-test, although it was not accompanied by special speaking practice. This suggests that in pronunciation education, sufficient perceptual training is necessary before pronunciation exercises are conducted.

      • 연극공연을 통한 연기훈련이 청소년의 발음과 발성에 미치는 효과

        박종희(Jong-Hee Park),조인희(In-Hee Cho) 한국엔터테인먼트산업학회 2013 한국엔터테인먼트산업학회 학술대회 논문집 Vol.2013 No.11

        Perceptual Training of L2 Segments

Eun Kyung Yoon(윤은경) 한국외국어교육학회 2007 Foreign languages education Vol.14 No.2

The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of perceptual training of American English front vowel sounds /i, I, ε, æ/ on the production by comparing two teaching methods: perceptual training and audiolingual method. Subjects were 10 students enrolled in a language program at Arizona. They were randomly assigned into an experimental and a control group. The perception and production test were conducted to assess the subjects’ development of accuracy, and one hour and half training sessions are carried out with no explicit production practice for the experimental group and with the audiolingual teaching method for the control group for a total period of three weeks. The results for the post-test revealed that there was no significant difference between the groups. However, it should be emphasized that the experimental group, who went through the perceptual training without being forced to produce, resulted in better improvement both in perception and production in comparison to the control group when observed pre and post test. In addition, the results revealed that there is a positive co-relation between perception and production.

한국어 발음 학습에서의 음성인식기술 사용 현황과 과제

심현주 ( Shim Hyunju ) 연세대학교 언어정보연구원 2022 언어사실과 관점 Vol.57 No.-

SRT has emerged as a technological option for providing pronunciation assistance. Using SRT offers many benefits to learners, particularly given the increasing availability of mobile technologies such as speed, real-time transcription, unbiased feedback which does not interrupt speech, and ease of use. Also, they can achieve comprehensibility without the need to conform to native-like pronunciation. However, applications for learning Korean pronunciation using SRT are not showing these advantages properly. It just scored the learner's pronunciation accuracy and showed the error pattern by comparing it with native speakers using visual data such as intonation graphs and spectrograms. In addition, there was a lack of discussion on whether such a method of feedback was useful. For this reason, this study proposed to present learners' pronunciation as recognized by SRT and to provide specific feedback for correcting pronunciation errors.

Effectiveness of Mobile Assisted Pronunciation Training in the Acquisition of English Vowels, /o/ and /ɔ/

Yunhyun Lee 한국외국어교육학회 2021 Foreign languages education Vol.28 No.3

With the wide availability of mobile devices, efforts to accommodate these technological devices have been made in pronunciation training. This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of mobile apps in improving the perception and production of the English vowels, /o/ and /ɔ/, which are difficult to discriminate and produce for Korean learners of English. The participants were 24 college freshmen enrolled in a general English course. They shadowed the model pronunciation from the application and corrected their production after instant feedback from the automatic speech recognition application. Their perception was evaluated in the pre-and post-tests, and the production was visually examined on the formant chart. The training was held for 5 minutes each day, for a month. The results showed that the training made positive effects on improving students’ perception of the target vowels. There was also some progress in their production although the improvement was not as noticeable as in perception. A discrepancy in the production was discovered between male and female participants with the latter performing better.
