Behavior Prediction Based on Vision Judgment of Ball Carrier in Basketball Matches

The introduction of digital video technology into basketball trainings can greatly increase the efficiency of training; this thesis proposes a behavior prediction method based on the vision judgment of ball carrier to the computer technology used for the behavior prediction of ball carrier. The method analyzes the characteristics in basketball matches like complexity background, fast speed, and low resolution and so on, which integrate the multiple effective head vision characteristics, form the Riemannian manifold, and then map them into tangent space. Well-trained classifier is used to recognize the head pose of the ball carrier to ensure the visual range. This thesis makes prediction experiments for shooting, passing and dribbling of the ball carrier, and the simulation experiments shows that the proposed method is correct and efficient.

The marketability of blueberries over long distances has been limited because of their highly perishability. To prolong the postharvest shelf life and conserve quality properties of blueberry, various alternatives have been evaluated. We studied the influence of gum arabic (GA) alone or GA enhanced with African baobab (AB) fruit extract on blueberry during cold storage (4 C) for 21 days. Physico-chemical properties (e.g. pH, color, firmness, and weight loss), microbial decay, antioxidant properties, polyphenol oxidase (PPO) and peroxidase (POD) activity were investigated. The fruit treated with GA combined AB indicated a significant delay in microbial decay, firmness loss, weight loss, and color change. The treatments on blueberries resulted in better preservation of total phenols and total anthocyanins delayed the increase in total soluble solids as compared to the control. The coatings lowered the activities of PPO and POD enzymes and delayed microbial decay in coated blueberry during 21 days of storage.

Hydrogen-steam gas mixture may be injected into containment with flow regime varying both spatiallyand transiently due to wall effect and pressure difference between primary loop and containment insevere accidents induced by loss of coolant accident. Preliminary CFD analysis is conducted to gain informationabout the helium flow regime transition process from jet to buoyancy plume for forthcomingexperimental study. Physical models of impinging jet and wall condensation are validated using separatedeffect experimental data, firstly. Then helium transportation is analyzed with the effect of jetmomentum, buoyancy and wall cooling discussed. Result shows that helium distribution is totallydominated by impinging jet in the beginning, high concentration appears near gas source and wallwhere jet momentum is strong. With the jet weakening, stable light gas layer without recirculating eddyis established by buoyancy. Transient reversed helium distribution appears due to natural convectionresulted from wall cooling, which delays the stratification. It is necessary to concern about hydrogenaccumulation in lower space under the containment external cooling strategy. From the perspective ofexperiment design, measurement point should be set at the height of connecting pipe and near the wallfor stratification stability criterion and impinging jet modelling validation.

Rice sheath blight (SB), caused by Rhizoctoniasolani (R. solani), is a major threat to rice productionworldwide. The molecular mechanisms of the SB resistancein rice are poorly understood. The transcriptomes of the SBresistantrice cultivar YSBR1 and the susceptible cultivarLemont were analyzed after R. solani infection. A total of7624 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identifiedat one or more timepoints in a cultivar. 5526 and 5618 DEGswere differentially expressed in Lemont and YSBR1,respectively. YSBR1 exhibited stronger and earlier transcriptionalresponse to R. solani than Lemont. Gene ontology enrichmentanalysis revealed that genes that encode cell wall-modifyingand glycosyl-degrading enzymes or anti-microbial proteinswere specifically induced in YSBR1 at 6 hpi. MapMananalysis revealed that more DEGs related with cell wall, β-glucanses, respiratory burst, phenylpropanoids and ligninwere highly induced by R. solani in YSBR1 than in Lemont. The results also showed that receptor-like kinases and jasmonicacid signaling may play important roles in host resistance toR. solani. This study highlights potential candidate genes andsignaling pathways involved in rice sheath resistance and canhelp to further clarify the mechanistic events underlyingresistance and susceptibility to R. solani.
