        Preparation and Photoelectric Properties of Silver Nanowire/ZnO Thin Film Ultraviolet Detector

        Ultraviolet (UV) detectors have important applications in many fi elds. ZnO is an excellent semiconductor material for the preparation of UV detectors because of its large direct gap in forbidden bandwidth, its intrinsic response band in the UV region, and its high exciton binding energy. In this paper, high-performance ZnO thin fi lms with the optically advantageous nonpolar structure were prepared by using an atomic layer deposition, and the dominant crystal plane gradually changes from the amorphous phase to the (100) crystal plane. The conventional photoconductor structure ZnO UV detector was enhanced by the surface plasmon exciton eff ect of Ag nanostructure. When the operating voltage is 5 V and the response light is 350 nm, there is a maximum optical responsiveness of up to 131 A/W. The UV/visible rejection ratio can reach 1824 times. When the ZnO thin fi lm deposition thickness is 400 deposition cycles and about 72 nm, the ZnO thin fi lm UV detector obtains the highest responsiveness (5 V, 365 nm) of 365 A/W. Comparing the photovoltaic performance of the ZnO thin-fi lm detector with the enhanced ZnO thin-fi lm detector and its optimal response wavelength, it is found that the enhanced ZnO thin-fi lm detector increased the photoresponse value by about 100 times. The optimal response wavelength in the UV region is blueshifted, and the UV-visible rejection ratio and optical response rate are signifi cantly improved.

      • Robustness Improvement and Assessment of EARSM k-ω Model for Complex Turbulent Flows

        The main concern of this study is to integrate the EARSM into an industrial RANS solver in conjunction with the $k-{\omega}$ model, as proposed by Hellsten (EARSMKO2005). In order to improve the robustness, particular limiters are introduced to turbulent conservative variables, and a suitable full-approximation storage (FAS) multi-grid (MG) strategy is designed to incorporate turbulence model equations. The present limiters and MG strategy improve both robustness and efficiency significantly but without degenerating accuracy. Two discretization approachs for velocity gradient on cell interfaces are implemented and compared with each other. Numerical results of a three-dimensional supersonic square duct flow show that the proper discretization of velocity gradient improves the accuracy essentially. To assess the capability of the resulting EARSM $k-{\omega}$ model to predict complex engineering flow, the case of Common Research Model (CRM, Wing-Body) is performed. All the numerical results demonstrate that the resulting model performs well and is comparable to the standard two-equation models such as SST $k-{\omega}$ model in terms of computational effort, thus it is suitable for industrial applications.

        Association of the Serotonin Receptor 3E Gene as a Functional Variant in the MicroRNA-510 Target Site with Diarrhea Predominant Irritable Bowel Syndrome in Chinese Women

        Background/Aims The functional variant (rs56109847) in the 3′-untranslated regions (3′-UTR) of the serotonin receptor 3E (HTR3E) gene is associated with female diarrhea predominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-D) in British populations. However, the relationship of the polymorphism both to HTR3E expression in the intestine and to the occurrence of Chinese functional gastrointestinal disorders has yet to be examined. Methods Polymerase chain reaction amplification and restriction fragment length polymorphism analyses were employed to detect polymorphisms among Chinese Han women, particularly 107 patients with IBS-D, 99 patients with functional dyspepsia (FD), 115 patients with mixed IBS and 69 patients with IBS-D + FD. We also assessed microRNA-510 (miR-510) and HTR3E expression in human colonic mucosal tissues with immunohistochemistry and other methods. Dual-luciferase reporter assays were conducted to examine the binding ability of miR-510 and HTR3E 3′-UTR. Results Genotyping data showed the variant rs56109847 was significantly associated with IBS-D, but not with FD, mixed-IBS, or FD + IBS-D. HTR3E was abundantly expressed around the colonic mucosal glands but less expressed in the stroma. miR-510 expression decreased, whereas HTR3E expression increased in the colonic mucosal tissue of patients with IBS-D compared with those in controls. HTR3E expression was significantly higher in patients with the GA genotype than that in patients with the GG genotype. The single nucleotide polymorphisms disrupted the binding site of miR-510 and significantly upregulated luciferase expression in HEK293 and HT-29 cells. Conclusions The single-nucleotide polymorphisms rs56109847 led to reduced microRNA binding and overexpression of the target gene in intestinal cells, thereby increasing IBS-D risk in the Chinese Han population. The decreased expression of miR-510 might contribute to IBS-D. (J Neurogastroenterol Motil 2016;22:272-281)

        State Observers for Suspension Systems with Interacting Multiple Model Unscented Kalman Filter Subject to Markovian Switching

        This paper presents a novel model-based observer algorithm to address issues associated with nonlinear suspension system state estimation using interacting multiple model unscented Kalman Filters (IMMUKF) under various road excitation. Due to the fact that practical working condition is complex for the suspension system, e.g. additional load. Meanwhile, the changed sprung mass parameter will induce model changed of suspension system, and it can lead to state transition between various models. To tackle the mentioned issue, the models of road profile and suspension system are first established to describe the nonlinear suspension dynamics. Then, considering the variation of sprung mass under various movement conditions, an unscented Kalman Filter (UKF) algorithm is proposed to identify the sprung mass. Based on the interacting multiple model (IMM) and Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) theory, a novel IMMUKF observer is developed to estimate the movement state of suspension system. The stability conditions for the proposed observer is calculated using the stochastic stability theory. Finally, simulations and validations are performed on a quarter vehicle suspension system under various ISO road excitations, to validate the UKF and IMMUKF algorithms for acquiring suspension system states, and results illustrate that the maximum root mean square error of state estimation for the proposed algorithm is less than 7.5 %.
