Magnetoresistance Characteristics of Magnetorheological Gel under a Magnetic Field
Yu, Miao,Ju, Benxiang,Fu, Jie,Liu, Shuzhi,Choi, Seung-Bok American Chemical Society 2014 INDUSTRIAL & ENGINEERING CHEMISTRY RESEARCH - Vol.53 No.12

A kind of magnetoresistance material was prepared, named as magnetorheological gel (MRG). The MRG samples were fabricated by dispersing carbonyl iron particles (CIP) into the polyurethane gel, and several experimental devices were prepared to investigate the magnetoresistance characteristics of MRG. The magnetoresistance characteristic was systematically tested and the influence of the magnetic field was analyzed. It is found that the resistance value of MRG with the CIP content of 70 wt % can be decreased from 7.56 to 2.44 MΩ with increasing of magnetic field from 0.1 T to 1 T. The experimental results have also proved that CIP content and the composition of matrix have a greater impact on the magnetoresistance characteristics. Because of the interaction between the magnetic force of CIP and motion resistance under a magnetic field, the obvious hysteresis phenomenon was observed and recorded. Lastly, it was observed that the magnetoresistance can be changed reversibly by controlling the magnetic field.

Discrete-Time Adaptive Iterative Learning Control with Unknown Control Directions
Miao Yu,Jianliang Zhang,Donglian Qi 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2012 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.10 No.6
An adaptive iterative learning control scheme is proposed for a class of discrete-time nonlinear systems with random initial conditions and iteration-varying desired trajectories. The discrete Nussbaum gain method is incorporated into the control design to tackle the problem associated with the lack of a priori knowledge of the control directions. The proposed control algorithm guarantees the boundedness of all the signals in the controlled system. The tracking error converges to zero asymptotically along the iterative learning axis. The effectiveness of the proposed control law is veri-fied through numerical simulation.

As a developing country, China still has a long way to go perfect the medical security system constantly. As important parts of the security system, drug purchases and sells of hospitals always gain a lot of attentions not only from the citizens but also the government of China. At present, many problems lie in the medical circulations, such the complex purchasing processes, the high transaction costs and drugs prices, and also serious commercial briberies. In order to solve theses problems, since 2001, China has carried out the Centralist Tender for Drugs Purchase (CTFDP) in all medical institutions. Till now CRFDP has put into practice for nearlly a decade, certain effects are obtained, but commercial briberies in Chinese medical circulation and the “difficulty and high cost of getting medical” problem are not solved thoroughly. Loopholes are still found which cause nformation distortion, such as the CTFDP system involve too much human factors, the evaluating system in CTFDP is unreasonable. In this article, the author will build two mathematical models to find out these related human factors and the analysis the CTFDP system. Based on the above work, the article will give some suggestions to improve the system so as to remove those factors. Also the author will build another mathematical model to give an alternative method to perfect the evaluating system. In this way, information distortion during the phase of centralist tender for drugs purchase in China will not be a problem.
Fuzzy Neural Network Control for Vehicle Stability Utilizing Magnetorheological Suspension System
Miao Yu,,Choi, S.B.,Dong, X.M.,Liao, C.R. SAGE Publications 2009 Journal of intelligent material systems and struct Vol.20 No.4

This paper presents the stability of a passenger vehicle system featuring magnetorheological (MR) suspensions. As a first step, MR damper is devised and its field-dependent damping force is experimentally evaluated. A full-car model equipped with the MR damper is established by considering roll motion which is directly related to the vehicle stability. A fuzzy neural network controller (FNNC) incorporated with the self-learn knowledge is then formulated in order to improve vehicle stability. In addition, in order to eliminate adverse effect of the system coupling, nonlinearity and time delay a correction component for updating the weighting matrix and adjusting controller outputs is designed. Both computer simulation and road test are undertaken in order to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control method. The control results obtained in this work indicate that the proposed control scheme with the MR suspension can considerably improve the stability of vehicles with high performance in vibration isolation.

Multi-Mode Semantic Cues Based on Hidden Conditional Random Field in Soccer Video
Yu Wang,Yu Cao,Miao Wang,Gang Liu 보안공학연구지원센터 2015 International Journal of Multimedia and Ubiquitous Vol.10 No.10
A new framework based on multi- modal semantic clues and HCRF (Hidden Conditional Random Field) for soccer wonderful event detection. Through analysis of the structural semantics of the wonderful event videos, define nine kinds of multi- modal semantic clues to accurately describe the included semantic information of the wonderful events. After splitting the video clips into several physical shots, extract the multi- modal semantic clues from the key frame of each shot to get the feature vector of the current shots, and compose the observed sequence of the feature vectors of all shots in the test video clips. Using the above observed sequence as HCRF model input in the case of small-scale training samples, establish wonderful event detection HCRF model effectively. Experiments show that the average recall of this paper reaches 95.3%, the average precision rate reaches 96%, the performance of this paper is obviously superior to the contrast method.
Large deviations for dependent heavy tailed random variables
Yu Miao,Tianyu Xue,Ke Wang,Fangfang Zhao 한국통계학회 2012 Journal of the Korean Statistical Society Vol.41 No.2
Let {Xn, n ≥ 1} be a stationary sequence of random variables with heavy tails. In this paper,we study the logarithmic asymptotic behaviors for the distributions of the partial sums Sn = ni =1 Xi under the assumption that {Xn, n ≥ 1} is a sequence of dependent random variables. Our main interest is in the crude estimates P(|Sn| > nx) ≈ n−αx+1 for appropriate values x where α is a specific parameter. Some results in this paper extend the works of Hu and Nyrhinen (2004).
Central limit theorems for LS estimators in the EV regression model with dependent measurements
Yu Miao,Fangfang Zhao,Ke Wang 한국통계학회 2011 Journal of the Korean Statistical Society Vol.40 No.3
In this paper, we consider the simple linear errors-in-variables (EV) regression models:η_i = θ + βx_i + ε_i, ξ_i = x_i + δ_i, 1 ≤ i ≤ n, where θ, β, x_1, x_2, . . . are unknown constants (parameters), (ε_1, δ_1), (ε_2, δ_2), . . . are errors and ξ_i, η_i, i = 1, 2, . . . are observable. The asymptotic normality for the least square (LS) estimators of the unknown parameters βand θ in the model are established under the assumptions that the errors arem-dependent,martingale differences, φ-mixing, ρ-mixing and α-mixing.
Large and moderate deviation principles for the bootstrap sample quantile
Yu Miao,Jianyong Mu,Jinghuan Zhao,Saralees Nadarajah 한국통계학회 2017 Journal of the Korean Statistical Society Vol.46 No.4
Let {X, Xn, n ≥ 1} be a sequence of independent identically distributed (i.i.d.) random variables defined on a probability space (Ω, F , P) with common distribution F , and let {X∗ n,1, · · · , X∗ n,n} be a bootstrap sample from the empirical distribution Fn. Based on the bootstrap sample, the moderate deviation, large deviation and Bahadur’s asymptotic efficiency of the bootstrap sample pth quantileξ ∗ np are established.
