Multimedia Service using CSMA/GPS in Vehicular Communication Network

This paper1deals with the seamless multimedia service mechanism in vehicle communication network(VCN). The proposed mechanism uses caching/switching/multicasting agent(CSMA), a partial of GPS information and multicast transmission in VCN network. The CSMA controls some smart access points(SAP) with buffer, and may generate multicast group address for live-video in local-vehicle-network(LVN). And it manages serviced video items, switches multimedia packets to SAPs requesting service, and performs smooth handover for vehicles using table. The SAP generates modified virtual address(IP address) for vehicles that enter the VCN network. The proposed virtual IP address consists of LVN network ID, vehicle ID, GPS information(driving distance) and a driving direction mode bit. And the CSMA and SAP provide smooth handover using their service tables and a seamless multimedia service. Also, this proposed mechanism may provide promptly multicast service for live-video because multicast mechanism is performed within the VCN network, and reduce the possibility of cutoff service and packet loss because it uses GPS in-formation.
Clinically Applicable Deep Learning Algorithm Using Quantitative Proteomic Data

<P>Deep learning (DL), a type of machine learning approach, is a powerful tool for analyzing large sets of data that are derived from biomedical sciences. However, it remains unknown whether DL is suitable for identifying contributing factors, such as biomarkers, in quantitative proteomics data. In this study, we describe an optimized DL-based analytical approach using a data set that was generated by selected reaction monitoring-mass spectrometry (SRM-MS), comprising SRM-MS data from 1008 samples for the diagnosis of pancreatic cancer, to test its classification power. Its performance was compared with that of 5 conventional multivariate and machine learning methods: random forest (RF), support vector machine (SVM), logistic regression (LR), k-nearest neighbors (k-NN), and naïve Bayes (NB). The DL method yielded the best classification (AUC 0.9472 for the test data set) of all approaches. We also optimized the parameters of DL individually to determine which factors were the most significant. In summary, the DL method has advantages in classifying the quantitative proteomics data of pancreatic cancer patients, and our results suggest that its implementation can improve the performance of diagnostic assays in clinical settings.</P> [FIG OMISSION]</BR>

In this paper, a single LRF has been used to produce a 3D map for the mobile robot navigation. The 2D laser scanners are used for mobile robots navigation, where the laser scanner is applied to detect a certain level of area by the straight beam. Therefore it is limited to the usages of 2D obstacle detection and avoidance. In this research, it is designed to complement a mobile robot system to move up and down a single LRF along the yaw axis. During the up and down motion, the 2D data are stacked and manipulated to build a 3D map. Often a single LRF data are mixed with Gaussian and impulse noises. The impulse noises are removed out by the hybrid median filter designed in this research. The 2D data which are improved by deleting the impulse noises are layered to build the 3D map. Removing impulse noises while preserving the boundary is a main advantages of the hybrid median filter which has been used widely to improve the quality of images. The effectiveness of this hybrid median filter for rejecting the impulse noises has been verified through the real experiments. The performance of the hybrid median filter is evaluated in terms of PSNR (Peak Signal to Noise Ratio) and the processing time.

최근 스마트폰의 보급으로 블로그, SNS 등에서 방대한 양의 데이터가 발생함에 따라 이를 수집하고 분석하는 작업의 중요성이 커지고 있다. 이러한 데이터는 크게 정형 데이터와 비정형 데이터로 나눌 수 있는데, 특히 비정형 데이터는 전체 데이터의 약 80%를 차지할 정도로 그 양과 가치가 매우 크다. 이 논문에서는 빅데이터 환경에서 발생하는 이러한 비정형 데이터를 수집하는 모듈 중 가장 널리 알려진 Chukwa와 Flume에 대한 개발 및 비교 분석을 시도 하였다.

Quantifying multiple protein biomarkers in a blood sample at one time has many advantages for diagnosing human diseases. In this study, 34 multiplex assays by multiple reaction monitoring-mass spectrometry (MRM-MS) for serum biomarkers were characterized according to Clinical Proteomic Tumor Analysis Consortium (CPTAC) guidelines. The assays revealed that the median lower limit of quantitation (LLOQ) was 0.37 fmol/μL (16.0 ng/mL) and that the median total coefficient of variation (CV) was 18.2%, 12.2%, and 10.6% in the low-, medium-, and high-quality control (QC) samples. With regard to selectivity, the median mean differences in slope and concentration were 2.1% and 4.3%, respectively. The median values for all CVs and %difference from the nominal concentration for stability were 9.5% and 2.7% in low-QC and 3.8% and 3.1% in medium-QC. The median total CV was 9.8% in the reproducibility. Finally, 17 protein-based biomarker assays were reliable and transferrable for preclinical purposes per CPTAC guidelines.
Alarm System for Pedestrians Safety Against Hybrid/PHEV/EV Vehicle on Minor Road

This paper presents an alarm system for pedestrian safety against hybrid vehicle/PHEV/EV on minor roads. Recently, the interest and production of the hybrid/PHEV/EV vehicles have been rising in the automobile market, and a number of such vehicles are already driving on the road. One of their salient features is that they are very quiet and the exhaust sound is scarcely audible. So the pedestrians on minor roads are difficult to recognize those vehicles when the vehicles are coming behind them. This situation has emerged as a serious problem in the matter of ensuring the safety of pedestrians. Therefore the alarm system to notify the approaching vehicles to pedestrians on minor roads should be developed. The proposed alarm system in this paper informs pedestrians with a vibration or sound through the smartphone when the vehicles are closing in to the pedestrians from behind on minor roads. And this alarm network system consists of a few smart access agents, some smartphones and RFID tags that are equipped with the vehicles. The smart access agent recognizes the direction of driving vehicles on minor roads and informs it to the pedestrian’s smartphone, and the RFID tag equipped with vehicles sends an approaching signal to the smartphone. Thus, the proposed alarm system concept can support the pedestrians’ safety on minor roads against hybrid vehicle/PHEV/EV simply and effectively.
