        The combination of sports and the IT industry has reached a variety of fields, especially in the area of broadcasting technology. Due to diverse preference of viewer and the rising number of channels, broadcasting companies provide differentiated contents to reach a dominant position. Therefore, each broadcasting company has their own strategy to produce contents through special technology skills to hold a top position amongst other companies. According to Eric Rothenbuhler's ‘media niche theory’, when there exists numerous media device with identical resources, the competition to survive between the devices become intense and soon draws a line between the superior and inferior devices which results in eliminating the less viewed media devices out of the race. To secure the uniqueness of the media broadcasting market like the ecosystem, the object is to verify the effectiveness of the convergence of sport broadcasting technology skills and IT technology. Therefore, the media devices and the newly developed technology for video production method were the independent variables. Additionally, the dependent variable was the media effect.       • 3D-QSAR studies of heterocyclic quinones with inhibitory activity on vascular smooth muscle cell proliferation using pharmacophore-based alignment

        The abnormal proliferation and migration of vascular smooth muscle cells (SMCs) play an important role in the pathology of coronary artery atherosclerosis and restenosis following angioplasty. It was reported that some heterocyclic quinone derivatives such as 6-arylamino-quinoxaline-5,8-diones and 6-arylamino-1H-benzo[d]imidazole-4,7-diones have inhibitory activity on rat aortic smooth muscle cell (RAoSMC) proliferation. To understand the structural basis for antiproliferative activity to design more potent agents, we generated pharmacophore models of representative molecules with high activity using Genetic Algorithm with Linear Assignment of Hypermolecular Alignment of Database (GALAHAD) and aligned a series of compounds to the selected pharmacophore model, then performed three-dimensional quantitative structure-activity relationship (3D-QSAR) studies using Comparative Molecular Field Analysis (CoMFA) and Comparative Molecular Similarity Indices Analysis (CoMSIA). Good cross-validated correlations were obtained with CoMFA (resulting in q² of 0.734 and r² of 0.947) and CoMSIA (resulting in q² of 0.736 and r² of 0.913). The IC_(50) values of the heterocyclic quinone derivatives on RAoSMC exhibited a strong correlation with steric and hydrophobic fields of the 3D structure of the molecules, resulting in the reliable prediction of inhibitory activity of the series of compounds.

        A Multilevel Analysis of the Chinese Super League: Examining the Game Level and Home Team Level Determinants of Stadium Attendance

        The Chinese Super League (CSL) is the top tier football league in China and over the past 10 years has expanded rapidly in terms of popularity, brand strength, and name recognition. Despite the CSL’s rapid development, limited empirical research has been done to examine the league and what drives demand in attending the games. Thus, in order to gain a better understanding of CSL and identify unique patterns of demand for professional sports leagues in China, this study used data from the 2017–2019 CSL regular seasons to examine the relationship between various stadium determinants and game attendance. Moreover, the nested structure found in attendance data was considered, thus adopting multilevel modeling (MLM) to analyze game level and home team level variables to predict stadium attendance in the CSL. Our findings reveal that 12 variables significantly influenced attendance, with variables related to home teams showing more relevance to explaining stadium attendance than game level variables.

        <P>The transient receptor potential vanilloid subtype 1 (TRPV1) is a non-selective cation channel composed of four monomers with six transmembrane helices (TM1-TM6). TRPV1 is found in the central and peripheral nervous system, and it is an important therapeutic target for pain relief. We describe here the construction of a tetrameric homology model of rat TRPV1 (rTRPV1). We experimentally evaluated by mutational analysis the contribution of residues of rTRPV1 contributing to ligand binding by the prototypical TRPV1 agonists, capsaicin and resiniferatoxin (RTX). We then performed docking analysis using our homology model. The docking results with capsaicin and RTX showed that our homology model was reliable, affording good agreement with our mutation data. Additionally, the binding mode of a simplified RTX (sRTX) ligand as predicted by the modeling agreed well with those of capsaicin and RTX, accounting for the high binding affinity of the sRTX ligand for TRPV1. Through the homology modeling, docking and mutational studies, we obtained important insights into the ligand-receptor interactions at the molecular level which should prove of value in the design of novel TRPV1 ligands.</P>

      • PERCEIVED IMAGES OF EACH TYPES OF E-SPORTS: CONCEPT PRESENTATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF A MEASUREMENT SCALE

        The purpose of the current study was to deduct the factors for e-sports and to develop measurement scale of each images of those factors so as to establish the concept of esports. In order to achieve the aforementioned purpose, the study was conducted through three steps: (1) deduction of the elementary/principal factors which were based on the literature investigation and in-depth interview of experts and general public, (2) conducting first survey and exploratory factor analysis, and (3) conducting secondary survey followed by confirmatory factor analysis. In the first step, in order to develop and identify measurement scales, images concerning e-sports, game and sports perceived by consumers and related items used in the extant literature were investigated. Additionally, in order to verify the face and content validity of deducted items, in-depth interview of experts, professional gamers, professors of Sports Science, doctoral students, people in charge, general public and etc was conducted. And in the second step, the survey with those confirmed items scales were conducted and with the results derived from the survey, the exploratory factor analysis for measuring images consisting e-sports were also conducted. Finally, in the third step, secondary survey based on the results derived from the exploratory factor analysis were conducted and in order to test uni-dimensionality of the measurement tool with the results emanated from the secondary survey, confirmatory factor analysis were conducted. Through aforementioned three steps, the current study confirmed the image factors consisting e-sports which are comprised of six positive factors (i.e., sociality, entertainingness, aestheticness, leisureness, education, and stress relief) and five negative factors (i.e., addictiveness, violence, commercial viability/marketability, and closedness).

      • A study on the factors affecting performance assessment and budget allocation of sports programs: Focusing on Korea Sports Promotion Foundation Funded programs

        Purpose: This study aims to investigate the relationship between program performance assessment and budget allocation of KSPF sponsored programs. From the path dependency point of view, the author anticipates that not the performance rating but the size of program budget and period of program to be significant determinant to next year budget. Thus, this paper attempts to identify following research question: "Does performance rating of sport business programs influence budget allocation?" The hypothesis to this question is that the result of previous year``s program performance rating(good, fair, poor) would not influence on next year``s budget allocation(increase, maintenance, cutback). Method: This study adopts the measures of multivariable regression analysis, in order to capture determinant of program performance rating and to see whether the mark of performance influences next year``s budget size or not. To investigate said relationship, this paper considers the size of the program budget, period of program, beneficiary’s satisfaction, and type of executing agency as determinants of performance rating and budgeting. Result: The results and detailed discussion will be presented at the conference. Conclusion: Overall, this study suggests the importance of relationship between program performance assessment and budget allocation. As the purpose of performance evaluation system is to improve the quality, program feedback system is important. Therefore, it is important to make strong linkage between the result of performance evaluation and program budget.

        프로축구 K리그 경기의 관람 수요 결정요인: 경기별 관중 수와 온라인 하이라이트 조회 수에 영향을 미치는 요인 분석

        본 연구는 프로축구 K리그1 경기의 수요 결정요인을 알아보기 위해 경기 내적 요인과 외적 요인이 현장 관중 수와 온라인 하이라이트 조회 수에 미치는 영향을 검증하였다. 2018년부터 2019년까지 개최된 총 456개의 경기별 관중 수와 온라인 하이라이트 조회수를 종속변수로 하는 두 개의 합동 OLS 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 주요 독립변인은 경기와 직접 관계가 있는 속성들을 포함하는 경기 내적 요인과 그 밖의 경기 외적 요인으로 구성하였다. 두 회귀모형에 공통적으로 들어가는 변인으로는 경기 내적 요인으로 경기중요도, 더비 매치, 결과의 불확실성, 흥미도, 팀 가치가 있었으며, 경기 외적 요인으로는 경기가 개최된 시간과 요일, 경기 당일의 날씨, 가계 소득과 소비자 심리지수와 같은 경제 지표, 중계방송 여부, 연도가 있었다. 하이라이트 조회 수에 대한 회귀모형에는 앞서 제시한 공통 변수 이외에 영상의 수명과 관중 수 변수를 추가적인 독립변수로 포함하였다. 분석 결과 팀 가치, 날씨, 중계방송 여부는 경기장 관중 수와 하이라이트 조회 수에 모두 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 관중 수를 예측하는 회귀모형에서는 더비 매치변수가, 조회 수 모형에서는 경기의 흥미도와 요일 변수가 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과는 전통적 스포츠 관람 형태인 경기장 직접 관람과 새로운 미디어 소비 형태로 부상하는 온라인 하이라이트 콘텐츠 소비에 대한 수요 결정요인을 함께 분석하고 비교하였다는 점에서 학술적 · 실무적 연구의 의미가 있다. 그 밖에 연구의 제한점과 향후 연구 방향이 제시되었다. The purpose of this paper is to examine the determinants of Korean football league. The data set for the analysis was collected for a total of 456 games, which accounts for the entire K1 games during the period between 2018 and 2019. The unit of analysis was per individual game and the stadium attendants and highlight program views were used as dependent variables. Individual variables were categorized into two parts; game factors and non-game factors. Game factors include game significance, derby match, outcome uncertainty, game interest, team quality and non-game factors include game schedule, game time, game day, weather, economic variables, broadcasting variable, upload variable. stadium attendants. For the first model, the results showed that derby match, team quality, weather, and broadcast variable had significant impact on stadium attendants. For the second model, game interest, team quality, game day, weather, broadcasting variable, year of the games, upload variable, stadium attendants were appeared to be significant predictors of the highlight views. According to the above results, there is a difference between the number of spectators determinant, a traditional sports viewing indicator, and the number of online highlight views determinants, a form of new media consumption. Implications, limitations and future research direction are discussed.
