Numerical Simulation and Experimental Study on Flow Forming of Laser Concave–Convex Microtexture of Cr12 Steel Surface

        Xiping Yang,Yonghong Fu,Xin Kuang 대한금속·재료학회 2021 METALS AND MATERIALS International Vol.27 No.10

In this paper, Cr12 steel was taken as the research object, and laser micro melting model was established in comsol softwarebased on physical equations such as laser heat source, convection heat transfer, evaporation mobility, recoil pressure,Marangoni effect. The forming mechanism and evolution law of concave–convex microtexture morphology were studiedby numerical simulation. The research reveals the changing process of the velocity of the flow field inside the material duringthe surface deformation. In addition, it can be found from the temperature field changes under different power that thehigher the power is, the faster the surface temperature of Cr12 material increases in the process of thermal deformation. Andthe hardness of the microtexture was greatly improved after the material experienced sudden heat and cold in a very shorttime. By comparing the numerical simulation results and the experimental results, it can be found that with the increase ofpower, the height, depth and diameter of the concave–convex microtexture morphology all show an increasing trend, andthe surface geometry obtained through numerical simulation matches well with the experimental results. It indicates thatthe numerical simulation has high feasibility and can effectively reflect the forming process and morphology of concaveconvexmicrotexture.

Experimental Investigation of Concave and Convex Micro-Textures for Improving Anti-Adhesion Property of Cutting Tool in Dry Finish Cutting

        Zhengyang Kang,Yonghong Fu,Yun Chen,Jinghu Ji,Hao Fu,Shulin Wang,Rui Li 한국정밀공학회 2018 International Journal of Precision Engineering and Vol.5 No.5

Tool-chip adhesion impacts on cutting performance significantly, especially in finish cutting process. To promote cutting tools’ anti-adhesion property, the concave micro-grooves texture (MGT) and convex volcano-like texture (VLT) were fabricated separately on lathe tools’ rake faces by laser surface texturing (LST). Various orientations of MGT and different area densities (9% and 48%) and regions (partial and full) of VLT were considered in textured patterns designing. The following orthogonal cutting experiments, machining of aluminum alloy 5038, analyzed tools’ performances including cutting force, cutting stability, chip shape, rake face adhesion and abrasion. It indicated that under dry finish cutting conditions, MGT contributed to cutting stability and low cutting forces, meanwhile friction and normal force reduced by around 15% and 10%, respectively with a weak correlation to the grooves’ orientation. High density VLT tools, on the other hand, presented an obvious anti-adhesion property. A 5 µm reduction of crater wear’s depth can be observed on textured rake faces after long length cutting and textured rake faces presented half size of BUE regions comparing to the flat tool, however, once the texture morphologies were filled or worn, the anti-adhesion effect could be invalid. The bearing ratio curve was employed to analysis tool-chip contact and durability of textured surfaces contributing to a better understanding of anti-adhesion and enhanced durability of the textured tools.

Characterization of the first tuber mustard calmodulin-like gene, BjAAR1, and its functions in responses to abiotic stress and abscisic acid in Arabidopsis

        Liuxin Xiang,Yuxian Xia,Ying-Fan Cai,Jijun Liu,Xiaohong He,Quan Sun,Xiaoyan Wang,Yuyin Fu,Yonghong Fan,Daiwen Dong,Guanfan Zhou,Jinjuan Shen,Yihua Liu 한국식물학회 2013 Journal of Plant Biology Vol.56 No.3

The first tuber mustard calmodulin-like (CML) gene BjAAR1 (Brassica juncea var. tumida Tsen et Lee Abiotic stress and Abscisic acid (ABA) Responsive gene 1) was cloned and characterized. The protein encoded by BjAAR1 contains four predicted Ca2+ binding sites (EF-hand motif) and its recombinant protein can bind Ca2+ in vitro. qRT-PCR showed that the expression level of BjAAR1 was rather high in non-swollen stem of tuber mustard and largely reduced in swollen stem. Expression of BjAAR1 enhanced ABA- and stress-induced gene expression in Arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana). Transgenic plants also exhibited hypersensitivity to NaCl, mannitol, and ABA during the seed germination and post-germination stages. ABA biosynthesis inhibitor, norflurazon (NF), rescued hypersensitivity phenotype of transgenic plants to NaCl and mannitol, indicating that BjAAR1 functions in multiple abiotic stresses response through ABA-dependent process.
