PURPOSE: This study attempts to examine the impact of respiratory muscle exercises on the respiratory function and quality of sleep among stroke patients. METHODS: A total of 20 stroke patients were randomly divided into a breathing-exercise training group(n=10) and a breathing-device-training group(n=10). Changes in pulmonary function, as well as the quality, were measured before and after the intervention. The breathing exercise was performed three times a week for a total of eight weeks. Breathing-device exercises made use of a lung-capacity-strengthening device and were performed for three times a week for eight weeks. One Flow FVC was used as a measurement tool for the pulmonary function test. The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI) and a sleep measurement tool were used for sleep evaluation. RESULTS: In a comparison of changes in pulmonary function before and after the training, the breathing-exercise group and the breathing-device-training group showed a significant difference. In changes of sleeping measure and PSQI, the breathing-exercise group and the breathing-devicetraining group also showed significant differences. CONCLUSION: Diverse index analyses confirmed that breathing exercises and exercises using a lung-capacitystrengthening device, were effective in improving respiratory function and quality of sleep among stroke patients experiencing respiratory function disorders and sleep disorders.

목적: 만성질환빈혈은 입원환자에서 가장 흔히 발생하지만 기저 질환의 범위나 병태생리가 명확히 정의되어 있지 않다. 저자는 이러한 빈혈을 포함한 다양한 빈혈에서 적혈구생성인자(EPO)의 분비의 특성을 알아보고 기저 질환별차이점과 분비에 영향을 주는 임상적 인자를 알아보고자 하였다. 방법: 2006년 3월 1일부터 2007년 4월 30일까지 건국대학교병원 종양혈액내과에서 빈혈(남: 혈색소<13 g/dL, 여: 혈색소<12 g/dL)로 진단된 환자를 대상으로 일반적 검사와 함께 혈중 적혈구생성인자(EPO) 값을 구하였다. 그리고 이들 환자에서 혈색소에 따른 EPO 분비의 적절성을 평가하여 질환별로 비교하였다. 결과: 총 161명의 환자가 연구에 포함되었다. 철결핍빈혈군(42명)에 비해 만성질환빈혈군(119명)에서 EPO의 분비가 유의하게 감소되어 있었다(p=0.000). 악성 종양군(20명)을 제외한 감염군(46명), 신부전군(27명) 외에도 심부전군(12명), 기타 질환군(14명) 모두에서 유의하게 EPO 감소가 관찰되었다. 연령별로는 65세 이상의 환자군이 65세 미만 환자군에 비해 유의하게 EPO의 분비가 저하되어 있었고(p=0.01), 신부전이 동반된 경우를 제외한 당뇨 환자군에서도 비당뇨 환자군에 비해 EPO의 분비가 저하되는 경향을 보였다(p=0.055). 결론: 만성질환 동반 빈혈을 포함한 여러 가지 빈혈은 EPO 분비가 감소되어 있었고, 또한 고령이나 당뇨 등이 EPO 분비를 감소시키는 경향을 보였다. 이러한 빈혈 환자에서의 진단적 EPO 측정 및 치료목적 투여에 대한 추가적인 연구가 앞으로 필요한 것으로 생각된다. Background/Aims: The characteristics of erythropoietin response in patients suffering with anemia of chronic disease and in the patients with various other anemias are poorly defined. Thus, we evaluated the clinical factors that influence the erythropoietin response. Methods: We enrolled the anemic patients (hemoglobin <13 g/dL for males and <12 g/dL for females) who visited the Hematology-Oncology department of Konkuk University Hospital from Mar 2006 to April 2007. The laboratory tests, including the complete blood count, serum ferritin, serum vitamin B12/folate, the peripheral blood morphology and serum erythropoietin, were done. The erythropoietin response to anemia was assessed by the ratio of the log of the measured erythropoietin to the log of the expected erythropoietin. Results: A total of 161 patients, including 42 iron-deficiency anemia (IDA) patients, were analyzed. 119 non-IDA patients were diagnosed with infection (n=46), chronic renal failure (n=27), cancer (n=20), heart failure (n=12), or with other diseases (n=14). Except for the cancer patients, all the patients with other diseases showed a blunted erythropoietin response in comparison with the IDA patients (p=0.000). Among the non-IDA patients, those patients older than 65 years showed more blunted erythropoietin response than did the younger patients (p=0.01), and the diabetics without renal dysfunction also tended to respond better to erythropoietin than did the non-diabetics (p=0.055). Conclusion: A blunted erythropoietin response was observed in most of the anemic patients in our study. Old age and diabetes may further blunt the erythropoietin response. The feasibility of erythropoietin testing and supplementation treatment in these patients merits further evaluation.(Korean J Med 74:531-536, 2008)
선도기업과 후발기업에 따른 개방형 혁신활동이 기업성과에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

There have been many studies that open innovation activities have positive on firm performance. However, the previous studies have shown conflicting results, depending on the characteristics of companies or the timing of the product launch. This study empirically compares open innovation performance of first-mover companies and follower companies. The analyses are performed on the samples of the Korean Innovation Survey 2010 companies that explored external information and performed R&D cooperation. The results indicate that open innovation activities can have different effects depending on a company’s status in the market. For the first-mover companies, the intensity of utilizing external information has greater impact on the firm’s performance than the diversity of it. By contrast, for the follower companies, the diversity of utilizing external information has greater impact on the firm’s performance than the intensity of it.. In terms of R&D cooperation, the external cooperation is found not to have significant effects on a first-mover company’s performance. However, external R&D cooperation of a follower company is showing positive impact on the firm’s performance. The implication of the study is to analyze the firm’s Open-Innovation performance by comparing first-mover companies with follower companies. Therefore, companies need to execute the Open-Innovation strategy by considering firm characteristics or the timing of the product launch.
웨이블릿 변환을 이용한 광섬유 격자 온도센서의 정밀도 개선

We developed a noise reduction algorithm for the measurement accuracy improvement of a fiber-optic distributed temperaure sensor system. The denoising technique is based on the wavelet transform. The proposed algorithm was applied to a FBG sensor output with the Gaussian line-fitting algorithm to minimize the output noise which originated from the intensity noise of the laser light source and the instability of signal porcessing. We confirmed the feasibility of the denoising algorithm by comparing the measurement results with those obtained with the Gaussian line-fitting algorithm only.
국내 대기업의 개방형 혁신 저해요인에 대한 WFGM 관점 분석 사례

Recently the open innovation is considered as one of the important issues for the survival strategy of a company in the industry. There have been several researches and practices on this topic. However, previous researches are mainly focused on the study of successful cases and some statistical analyses on the relationship between the open innovation and its performance. There are rare researches on the hindrance factors in the practical level. This paper tries to find some hinderance factors for the open innovation in Korean large-scale companies based on the WFGM(Want-Find-Get-Manage) model proposed by Gene Slowinski(2006). Especially this research focused on each processes of open innovation by in-depth interviews for two representative large companies in Korea. From the result of this research we come to know that the critical hindrance factor in the WANT step is the uncertain definition of the necessary technologies for the company. Issues on establishing and maintaining the innovation network are in the FIND step. Technology evaluation, technology introduction channel and technology copying issues are in the GET step. Communication issues, technology feasibility and lack of competition are in the MANAGE step. This paper finds some hindrance factors in each process step of open innovation, which gives some implications for the companies that want to adopt open innovation.
웨이블릿 변환을 이용한 FBG 온도센서 신호의 정밀도 향상

본 논문에서는 고속 파장훑음 레이저와 FBG (fiber Bragg grating)를 이용하여 전력설비 보호계전용 온도센서를 구현하였다. 고속 파장훑음 레이저의 불안정한 광세기 변화에 따른 FBG 반사파장 노이즈를 최소화하기 위하여 웨이블릿 변환(Wavelet transform)을 적용하였다. 최적의 임계값을 설정한 웨이블릿 변환의 노이즈 제거기법(denoising)을 통하여 FBG 센서의 파장변화에 따른 온도변화 정밀도를 향상 시켰으며 가우시안 라인피팅(Gaussian line fitting)을 적용하여 그 효율성을 입증하였다.
