Inverse Analysis of Inconel 718 Laser-Assisted Milling to Achieve Machined Surface Roughness

        Yixuan Feng,Tsung-Pin Hung,Yu-Ting Lu,Yu-Fu Lin,Fu-Chuan Hsu,Chiu-Feng Lin,Ying-Cheng Lu,Xiaohong Lu,Steven Y. Liang 한국정밀공학회 2018 International Journal of Precision Engineering and Vol.19 No.11

This manuscript proposes an inverse analysis method for the machined surface roughness in laser-assisted milling on Inconel 718. The method solves the forward problem considering the tool profile and the elastic recovery of machined surface and applies the variance-based recursive method to guide the updating mechanism of process parameters to match the measurements. Subsequently, the inverse analysis identifies four process parameters of feed per tooth, tool tip radius, minimum cutting thickness, and tool tip angle, and finds the optimal solution for target performance, the surface roughness. The measurements are collected under the single beam coaxial laser-assisted milling spindle. The proposed modified Kalman filter algorithm introduces the gain coefficient G when updating the process parameters to improve robustness and accuracy. The inverse analysis is conducted on all measurements, and the average error of target performance is 0.460% when the laser is on and 0.394% when the laser is off. The average difference of process parameters is less than 5%, and the selection process is done in 50 loops within a minute. Therefore, the proposed inverse analysis model is robust, adaptive to different initial guesses and measurements, highly accurate, and saves computation time.

Prognostic Perspectives of STING and PD-L1 Expression and Correlation with the Prognosis of Epstein-Barr Virus-Associated Gastric Cancers

( Qi Sun ),( Yao Fu ),( Xiaobing Chen ),( Lin Li ),( Hongyan Wu ),( Yixuan Liu ),( Haojun Xu ),( Guoren Zhou ),( Xiangshan Fan ),( Hongping Xia ) 대한소화기기능성질환·운동학회 2022 Gut and Liver Vol.16 No.6

Background/Aims: Epstein-Barr virus-associated gastric cancers (EBVaGCs) have unique molecular and clinicopathological characteristics. The cyclic GMP-AMP synthase-stimulator of interferon genes (STING) pathway is recently recognized as the critical innate immunity against pathogens and tumors. STING is also a master regulator in the cancer-immunity cycle and targeting STING could synergize with existing immune-checkpoint therapies. However, the role of STING in GC, especially in EBVaGC, and its correlation with programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) remain largely unclear. Methods: We collected 78 cases of EBVaGCs and 210 cases of EBV-negative GC (EBVnGC) from a total of 1,443 cases of GC analyzed by EBV-encoded small RNA in situ hybridization. We investigated STING and PD-L1 expression and their concomitant prognostic value in EBVaGCs and EBVnGCs using tissue microarray and immunohistochemistry. The effects of STING and PD-L1 expression on the overall survival of patients with EBVaGC or EBVnGC were assessed by univariate and multivariate analysis. Results: We found that both STING and PD-L1 exhibited significantly higher expression in the EBVaGCs than that in the EBVnGCs. The expression of STING was positively correlated with that of PD-L1 in EBVaGCs. Simultaneous negative expression of STING and PD-L1, and positive expression of STING were independent prognostic risk factors for EBVaGC and EBVnGC, respectively. Conclusions: This is the first prognostic retrospective study of STING and PD-L1 expression and the prognosis among EBVaGC and EBVnGC. The expression and prognostic value of STING and PD-L1 are different in the two types of GCs. STING and PD-L1 are promising prognostic biomarkers and therapeutic targets for EBVaGC and EBVnGC. • An Inverted U-shaped Relationship between Information Transparency and Idiosyncratic Risk

Yi Chang Chen,Mao Feng Kao,Hui Cheng Yu,Yuwen Yang,Yixuan Fu 한국유통과학회 2017 KODISA ICBE (International Conference on Business Vol.2017 No.-

Prior literature indicates that the endogeneity problem exists between information transparency and idiosyncratic risk, and that the results of the impact of transparency on risk are still inconclusive. This study attempts to employ a simultaneous equation model to investigate the non-linear relationship between information transparency and idiosyncratic risk. The variables of firm’s information transparency are drawn from the “Annual Report on China’s Companies’ Public Transparency” published by the China Social Science Academic Press. The finding indicates that an inverted U-shaped relationship exists between information transparency and idiosyncratic risk. The empirical result of the non-linear relation not only confirms the disclosure theory that the relationship between information transparency and idiosyncratic risk is negative, but also explains the inconsistent evidence in previous research.
