        Numerical Study on Load Transfer Effect of Stiffened Deep Mixed Column-supported Embankment over Soft Soil

        A new composite column technique referred to as Stiffened Deep Mixed (SDM) column has been adopted to support embankment over soft soil to mitigate the post-construction settlement, increase bearing capacity and enhance stability. The SDM column was formed by inserting a precast concrete core pile into the center of a Deep Mixed (DM) column immediately after the construction of DM column. Due to the complicate interaction between concrete core pile, DM column and surrounding soil, the load transfer mechanism between SDM column and surrounding soil has not been well understood yet. This paper presents a series of three- Dimensional (3-D) finite-element analyses to investigate the load transfer effect of SDM column-reinforced ground under embankment. First, the numerical method was validated by a comparison with field data in terms of settlements and vertical stress on the head of SDM column. Then, based on the validated simulation method, the 3-D numerical model of the SDM column-supported embankment over soft soil was established, and the influence factors of length of DM column and concrete core pile, cross section area of concrete core pile, column spacing and embankment height on the load transfer effect were investigated, respectively. The results showed that the column spacing and height of embankment fill had significant effects on the load transfer between SDM column and surrounding soil, while the influences of length of DM column and concrete core pile, and cross section area of concrete core pile on the load transfer effect were minor. Finally, four current commonly-used design methods were assessed in the prediction of the efficacy of SDM-reinforced soil under embankment loading. The current commonly-used design methods showed great differences in the load transfer predictions of the SDM column-supported embankment over soft soil due to the existence of outer DM column socket. A modified method was proposed for the use of EBGEO (2011) in the design of SDM column-supported embankment over soft soil.

        QLGR: A Q-learning-based Geographic FANET Routing Algorithm Based on Multi-agent Reinforcement Learning

        The utilization of UAVs in various fields has led to the development of flying ad hoc network (FANET) technology. In a network environment with highly dynamic topology and frequent link changes, the traditional routing technology of FANET cannot satisfy the new communication demands. Traditional routing algorithm, based on geographic location, can “fall” into a routing hole. In view of this problem, we propose a geolocation routing protocol based on multi-agent reinforcement learning, which decreases the packet loss rate and routing cost of the routing protocol. The protocol views each node as an intelligent agent and evaluates the value of its neighbor nodes through the local information. In the value function, nodes consider information such as link quality, residual energy and queue length, which reduces the possibility of a routing hole. The protocol uses global rewards to enable individual nodes to collaborate in transmitting data. The performance of the protocol is experimentally analyzed for UAVs under extreme conditions such as topology changes and energy constraints. Simulation results show that our proposed QLGR-S protocol has advantages in performance parameters such as throughput, end-to-end delay, and energy consumption compared with the traditional GPSR protocol. QLGR-S provides more reliable connectivity for UAV networking technology, safeguards the communication requirements between UAVs, and further promotes the development of UAV technology.

        Biometry of width between labial transitional line angles in anterior teeth: an observational study

        PURPOSE. The maximum width between the mesial and distal labial transitional line angles, described as “esthetic width” herein, could significantly influence the visual perception of the teeth and smile. This study aimed to conduct biometric research on esthetic width and to explore whether regular distribution exists in the esthetic width of human teeth. MATERIALS AND METHODS. A total of 4,264 maxillary and mandibular anterior teeth were measured using the Geomagic studio software program. The proportions of maxillary to mandibular homonymous teeth and proportions between the adjacent teeth were calculated. Bilateral symmetry and the correlation between the esthetic and mesiodistal widths were both accounted for during the measurement procedures. RESULTS. The mean esthetic widths were 6.773 ± 0.518 mm and 4.329 ± 0.331 mm for maxillary and mandibular central incisors, respectively, 5.451 ± 0.487 mm and 5.008 ± 0.351 mm for maxillary and mandibular lateral incisors, respectively, and 3.340 ± 0.353 mm and 5.958 ± 0.415 mm for maxillary and mandibular canines, respectively. Except for the mandibular canines, no significant difference in esthetic width was found among homonymous teeth from the same jaw. A high linear correlation was found between the esthetic and mesiodistal widths of the same tooth, except for the maxillary canines. Esthetic width proportions among different tooth categories showed some regular patterns, which were similar to those of the mesiodistal width. CONCLUSION. Esthetic width is regularly distributed among the teeth in the Chinese population. This could provide an important reference for anterior dental restorations and dimension recovery in esthetic reconstruction of anterior teeth.

        Simulation Analysis of Electromagnetic Characteristics of Electric Vehicle Cable Under Tensile Condition

        This paper mainly studies the stress and strain characteristics of electric vehicle cables under tensile state and its influence law on the electromagnetic characteristics. Firstly, the structure and characteristics of new energy vehicle cables are analyzed, and the three-dimensional solid model of the cables is established. The finite element method is used to analyze the deformation law and stress change characteristics of cables under diff erent tensile load conditions, so as to achieve the resistance change law of cables. Then the equivalent modeling method is established to simulate the electromagnetic characteristics of the cable. It is found that the tensile deformation increases the electromagnetic field intensity of some parts of the cable, leading to the irregular distribution of electromagnetic field in the entire cable. Finally, the variation law of electromagnetic field during the cable deformation is summarized.

        Photocatalytic Degradation Mechanism of Tetracycline by Ag@ZnO/C Core–Shell Plasmonic Photocatalyst Under Visible Light

        A series of hamburger-like Ag@ZnO/C core–shell plasmonic photocatalysts have been synthesized via a simple solvothermal method for degradation of tetracycline (TC) under visible light irradiation, possessing high photocatalytic activity and good stability. The presence of localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) in the Ag core has increased the photocatalytic activity over an extended wavelength range. The plasmon-induced resonant energy transfer (PIRET) and direct electron transfer (DET) have facilitated the excitation and separation of photogenerated e-/h+pairs, which has been further confirmed by electrochemical investigations. The presences of hydroxyl radicals ( ·OH), superoxide radicals ( · O-2) and singlet oxygen (1O2) in the photocatalytic reaction system of Ag@ZnO/C photocatalyst have been demonstrated by electron spin resonance (ESR) measurements. All of the experiment results indicate that the ternary structure of Ag@ZnO/C can effectively enhance the photocatalytic activity. Furthermore, the effects of introduced Ag contents and carbon source dosage were researched by comparative photocatalytic experiments, and the potential structures of photodegradation products were studied by HPLC-MS.

        Fabrication of ZnWO4-CdS heterostructure photocatalysts for visible light induced degradation of ciprofloxacin antibiotics

        ZnWO4-CdS heterostructure photocatalysts have been successfully synthesized by hydrothermalmethod with assembling CdS on the surface of ZnWO4. The obtained composite photocatalysts werecharacterized by X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, Raman, thermo-gravimetricanalysis, UV–vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, photoluminescence and photocurrent measurement. The results show that the interface between ZnWO4 and CdS is well formed, and the CdS nanoparticlesare uniformly distributed onto ZnWO4 nanorods which could facilitate charge transfer and reducerecombination of photo-generated electrons and holes. Compared with pure ZnWO4 and CdS, the aspreparedheterostructure photocatalysts exhibit excellent photostability and photodegradation abilityof ciprofloxacin (CIP) under visible light irradiation.

        Improved performance of organic light-emitting diodes with cesium chloride inside tris (8-hydroxyquinoline) aluminum

        A series of small molecular organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) based on tris (8-hydroxyquinoline)aluminum (Alq_3) was fabricated by varying thicknesses and positions of cesium chloride (CsCl) layer inside Alq_3 layer. Both luminance and efficiency are enhanced due to the improvement of electron injection when a CsCl layer was deposited between Alq3 and aluminum (Al). For the insertion of the CsCl layer at the 10 nm position inside Alq3 layer away from Al cathode, the enhanced current density and luminance are attributed to the reaction between diffused Al and Cs. And the efficiency and luminance are enhanced due to the trap sites induced by the CsCl layer at the distance of 20 and 30 nm away from the Al cathode. The current density and luminance of devices, in which various thicknesses of CsCl layer was inserted at 20 nm position inside Alq3 layer away from the Al cathode, is affected by both hole trapped and insulating layer effects.

        High photocatalytic degradation of tetracycline under visible light with Ag/AgCl/activated carbon composite plasmonic photocatalyst

        Ag/AgCl/activated carbon (AC) plasmonic photocatalysts were prepared by precipitation and photoreduc-tion method. The as-prepared plasmonic photocatalysts were characterized by XRD, SEM, BET, EDS, UV–visDRS, XPS and PL. The results show the composite photocatalysts are successfully obtained and obviouslyexhibit surface plasmon resonance and effectively enhance the separation of h+/e . The photocatalyticdegradation rate of tetracycline (TC) could reach 97.3% in 60 min under visible light irradiation and cycledexperiments show stably photocatalytic activities. The active species analysis displays holes andsuperoxide radicals are the main reactive species. Photocatalytic kinetic indicates that the degradationprocesses obey pseudo first order kinetic equation.
