The ionic liquids, 1-vinyl-3-aminopropylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate ([VAIM][PF6]) and 1-vinyl-3-aminopropylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate ([VAIM][BF4]) acted as the corrosion inhibitors. Weight lossmeasurements showed the corrosion inhibition efficiencies of [VAIM][PF6] and [VAIM][BF4] were 90.53%and 54.01% at 45 C, respectively. The ILs were mix-type inhibitors. Raising the temperature can have adecreased inhibition efficiency of [VAIM][BF4], while [VAIM][PF6] presented an opposite trend. Inaddition, [VAIM][PF6] obeyed Langmuir monolayer adsorption isotherm, while [VAIM][BF4] obeyed EIAwadykinetic-thermodynamic adsorption for blocking active sites. Moreover, Molecular DynamicSimulations showed that [VAIM][PF6] owned a higher adsorption energy, which may be responsible forthe more adsorption groups of [VAIM][PF6].
Cluster Analyses of Tropical Cyclones with Genesis in the South China Sea Based on K‑Means Method
Yafeng Yin,Yangyang Yong,Shandong Qi,Kai Yang,Yizhao Lan 한국기상학회 2023 Asia-Pacific Journal of Atmospheric Sciences Vol.59 No.4
Tropical cyclone (TC) with genesis in the South China Sea (SCS) has been a major concern because of their high landfallfrequency and associated serious hazards to the surrounding coastal areas. The classification of TCs from records of historicaltracks is an important way to obtain their characteristics and to help predict their future behavior. According to the generationlocation, intensity, direction, and track length of TC, TCs with genesis in the SCS from 1950 to 2020 are classified into fourclusters by the K-means clustering method, including northwestward track cluster A, westward track cluster C and two longnortheastward track clusters B and D. The landfall probability, peak season, climate trend, lifespan, maximum wind speed, and power dissipation index show a significant distinction for each cluster. All clusters had a landfall probability exceeding50%, with the highest probability in cluster A (90.44%), followed by cluster C, cluster B, and cluster D with the lowestprobability (54.55%). The clustering results indicate that tracks of TCs are strongly affected by the distribution pattern of theWestern Pacific Subtropical High. When the WPSH moves southward, the southwesterly anomalies provide a significantlyfavorable steering flow for TC northeastward. Conversely, the WPSH located northward in July-September, the strongsoutheasterly anomaly favoring the northwestward movement of TC. From October to November, the WPSH shrinking insize gives way to the prevailing anomalous easterlies that steer the TCs westward. Further concerning the influence of TCsin the different clusters by the WPSH movement will be helpful for prediction in terms of the occurrence, track and landfallprobability of TCs in the SCS.
Study on fracture characteristics of reinforced concrete wedge splitting tests
Hu Shaowei,XU Aiqing,HU Xin,YIN Yangyang 사단법인 한국계산역학회 2016 Computers and Concrete, An International Journal Vol.18 No.3
To study the influence on fracture properties of reinforced concrete wedge splitting test specimens by the addition of reinforcement, and the restriction of steel bars on crack propagation, 7 groups reinforced concrete specimens of different reinforcement position and 1 group plain concrete specimens with the same size factors were designed and constructed for the tests. Based on the double-K fracture criterion and tests, fracture toughness calculation model which was suitable for reinforced concrete wedge splitting tensile specimens has been obtained. The results show that: the value of initial craking load Pini and unstable fracture load Pun decreases gradually with the distance of reinforcement away from specimens’s top. Compared with plain concrete specimens, addition of steel bar can reduce the value of initial fracture toughness KIini, but significantly increase the value of the critical effective crack length ac and unstable fracture toughness KIun. For tensional concrete member, the effect of anti-cracking by reinforcement was mainly acted after cracking, the best function of preventing fracture initiation was when the steel bar was placed in the middle of the crack, and when the reinforcement was across the crack and located away from crack tip, it plays the best role in inhibiting the extension of crack.
