MDS Coded Caching for Device-to-Device Content Sharing Against Eavesdropping

In this paper, we put forward a delay-aware secure maximum distance separable (MDS) coded caching scheme to resist the eavesdropping attacks for device-to-device (D2D) content sharing by combining MDS coding with distributed caching. In particular, we define the average system delay to show the potential coupling of delay-content awareness, and learn the secure constraints to ensure that randomly distributed eavesdroppers cannot obtain enough encoded packets to recover their desired contents. Accordingly, we model such a caching problem as an optimization problem to minimize the average system delay with secure constraints and simplify it to its convex relaxation. Then we develop a delay-aware secure MDS coded caching algorithm to obtain the optimal caching policy. Extensive numerical results are provided to demonstrate the excellent performance of our proposed algorithm. Compared with the random coded caching scheme, uniform coded caching scheme and popularity based coded caching scheme, our proposed scheme has 3.7%, 3.3% and 0.7% performance gains, respectively.

Drug-resistance and imbalance of apoptotic regulation limit chemotherapy clinical application for the human hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) treatment. The reactivation of p53 is an attractive therapeutic strategy in cancer with disrupted-p53 function. Nutlin-3, a MDM2 antagonist, has antitumor activity in various cancers. The post-translational modifications of p53 are a hot topic, but there are some controversy ideas about the function of phospho-Ser392-p53 protein in cancer cell lines in response to Nutlin-3. Therefore, we investigated the relationship between Nutlin-3 and phospho-Ser392-p53 protein expression levels in SMMC-7721 (wild-type TP53) and HuH-7 cells (mutant TP53). We demonstrated that Nutlin-3 induced apoptosis through down-regulation phospho-Ser392-p53 in two HCC cells. The result suggests that inhibition of p53 phosphorylation on Ser392 presents an alternative for HCC chemotherapy. [BMB Reports 2014; 47(4): 221-226]

The breast and the thyroid are hormone responsive organs that are closely related with changes of endocrine function and glandular disease. An association between thyroid disorders and breast cancer (BC) risk has been suggested, although the results are inconclusive. The purpose of the present study was to summarize evidence supporting a relationship between BC and the level of thyroid hormones and antibodies. The MEDLINE and EMBASE electronic databases were searched for studies published between 2000 and 2014. The pooled effects were presented as weighted mean differences (WMD) with 95% confidence intervals (CI) using fixed or random effect models. We summarized the results of 8 cross-sectional studies with 4, 189 participants. The overall pooled results showed that the levels of $FT_3$ and $FT_4$ were significantly increased in patients with BC (WMD=1.592 pmol/l; 95% CI: 0.15-3.033 and WMD=0.461 ng/dl; 95% CI: 0.015-0.906; p=0.043). The TPOAb level in patients with BC was higher than that in the control group (WMD=81.4 IU/ml; 95% CI: 78.7-84.0; p=0.000). The overall pooled results of the TgAb with random effects analyses showed that the TgAb level was significantly increased in patients with BC (WMD=101.3 IU/ml; 95% CI: 48.7-153.9; p=0.000). The present results indicated that the serum levels of $FT_3$, TPOAb and TgAb are significantly higher in patients with breast cancer than in healthy controls.
MACWILLIAMS IDENTITIES OVER Mn×s(Z₄) WITH RESPECT TO THE RT METRIC

There has been a recent growth of interest in codes with respect to a newly defined non-Hamming metric grown as the Rosenbloom-Tsfasman metric (RT, or , in short). In this paper, the definitions of the Lee complete weight enumerator and the exact complete weight enumerator of a code over Mn×s(Z₄) are given, and the MacWilliams identities with respect to this RT metric for the two weight enumerators of a linear code over Mn×s(Z₄) are proven too. At last, we also prove that the MacWilliams identities for the Lee and exact complete weight enumerators of a linear code over Mn×s(Z₄) are the generalizations of the MacWilliams identities for the Lee and complete weight enumerators of the corresponding code over Z₄. Investigating Hydration Heat and Thermal Properties of MJS Treated Soil

Both metro jet system (MJS) and artificial ground freezing (AGF) techniques can be utilized and sometimes combined to reinforce the area during the tunnel construction for critical projects. The hydration heat released by the MJS treatment inevitably extends the active freezing time due to the introduction of cement paste. Consequently, before the implementation of two techniques, a numerical simulation is often conducted to determine the setup of the AGF system and the for AGF initiation. The rationality of the setup is highly dependent on the accuracy of the simulation results. In this paper, laboratory tests were conducted on soils with different cement contents and curing periods to measure the initial freezing point and hydration heat. Measurement of thermal conductivity and volumetric heat capacity on cemented soils was conducted under frozen and unfrozen conditions. Measurement results revealed that the initial freezing point, the thermal conductivity and volumetric heat capacity of cemented soil were highly dependent on curing period and cement content. By taking advantage of an ongoing project and the laboratory measured hydration heat and thermal parameters, a numerical simulation was also conducted to predict ground temperature variation after MJS treatment. The simulation results were found to be in agreement with the on-site temperature measurement results. The adoption of laboratory measured thermal parameters and hydration heat improved the accuracy of the numerical simulation, which is beneficial for the design and planning of MJS and AGF techniques.

Grouting and artificial ground freezing (AGF) methods are usually adopted to reinforce stratum, and they are occasionally implemented concurrently to stabilize the stratum under the influence of tunnel construction for crucial projects. When the structural construction is completed, the stratum is followed by a natural thawing process. The freeze-thaw cycle can lead to significant variation in the engineering properties of cemented soils. In this paper, strength, dynamic elastic modulus, and dynamic damping ratio of cemented soils after a freeze-thaw cycle were investigated through static and dynamic triaxial tests. To better understand the behavior of cemented soils, the Duncan-Chang model was adopted and the model parameters were calibrated based on results from the triaxial test under static loads. In addition, empirical models were established to characterize the dynamic elastic modulus and dynamic damping ratio of cemented soils. Test results from the static load triaxial tests indicated a strong correlation between cement content and confining pressure and soil strength. The cumulative plastic strain under dynamic loading depended on several factors, including the cement content and loading frequency. The number of loading cycles, cement content, and loading frequency all had a significant impact on the dynamic elastic modulus and damping ratio. The results and findings presented in this study are beneficial for the design of underground structures subjected to cyclic loading.
