Soluble Axl Is a Novel Diagnostic Biomarker of Hepatocellular Carcinoma in Chinese Patients with Chronic Hepatitis B Virus Infection

        Xiaoting Song,Ailu Wu,Zhixiao Ding,Shixiong Liang,Chunyan Zhang 대한암학회 2020 Cancer Research and Treatment Vol.52 No.3

Purpose The purpose of this study was to evaluate the diagnostic value of soluble Axl (sAxl) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in comparison with serum "-fetoprotein (AFP). Materials and Methods Eighty HCC patients, 80 liver cirrhosis patients (LC), 80 patients with hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection, and 80 healthy controls (HC) were enrolled. sAxl levels were measured by an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, serum AFP levels were measured by an electrochemiluminescence immunoassay. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves were used to evaluate diagnostic performances. Results The results show that levels of sAxl were high expression in patients with HCC (p < 0.05), varied with disease state as follows: HCC > LC > HC > HBV. Logistic regression and ROC curve analysis identified the optimal cut-off for sAxl in differentiating all HCC and non-HCC patients was 1,202 pg/mL (area under the receiver operating characteristic [AUC], 0.888; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.852 to 0.924) with sensitivity 95.0%, specificity 73.3%. Furthermore, differential diagnosis of early HCC with non-HCC patients for sAxl showed the optimal cut-off was 1,202 pg/mL (AUC, 0.881; 95% CI, 0.831 to 0.931; sensitivity, 94.1%; specificity, 73.3%). Among AFP-negative HCC patients with non-HCC patients, the cut-off was 1,301 pg/mL (AUC, 0.898; 95% CI, 0.854 to 0.942) with a sensitivity of 84.6%, a specificity of 76.3%. The optimal cut-off for sAxl in differentiating all HCC and chronic liver disease patients was 1,243 pg/mL (AUC, 0.840; 95% CI, 0.791 to 0.888) with sensitivity 93.8%, specificity 61.9%. The combination of AFP and sAxl increased diagnostic value for HCC. Conclusion sAxl outperforms AFP in detecting HCC, especially in early HCC and in AFP-negative HCC. Combination sAxl with AFP improved the specificity for early HCC diagnosis. In summary, sAxl is a candidate serum marker for diagnosing HCC.

Nonlinear aerodynamic stability analysis of orthotropic membrane structures with large amplitude

        Zhoulian Zheng,Yunping Xu,Changjiang Liu,Xiaoting He,Weiju Song 국제구조공학회 2011 Structural Engineering and Mechanics, An Int'l Jou Vol.37 No.4

The aerodynamic stability of orthotropic tensioned membrane structures with rectangular plane is theoretically studied under the uniform ideal potential flow. The aerodynamic force acting on the membrane surface is determined by the potential flow theory in fluid mechanics and the thin airfoil theory in aerodynamics. Then, based on the large amplitude theory and the D'Alembert's principle, the interaction governing equation of wind-structure is established. Under the circumstances of single mode response, the Bubnov-Galerkin approximate method is applied to transform the complicated interaction equation into a system of second order nonlinear differential equation with constant coefficients. Through judging the stability of the system characteristic equation, the critical divergence instability wind velocity is determined. Finally, from different parametric analysis, we can conclude that it has positive significance to consider the characteristics of orthotropic and large amplitude for preventing the instability destruction of structures.

Application of cloud point methodology to the determination of nitroanilines in natural water

        Huiqi Wang,Qiong Jia,Haochen Jiang,Naizhong Song,Xiaoting Liu 한국화학공학회 2014 Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering Vol.31 No.12

We developed a methodology based on cloud point extraction (CPE) for the determination of three nitro-anilines, p-nitroaniline (PNAL), m-nitroaniline (MNAL), and o-nitroaniline (ONAL). The CPE methodology was coupledwith high performance liquid chromatography determinations. Tergitol 15-S-7, an environmentally friendly nonionicsurfactant, was employed as the surfactant. To obtain the optimum extraction efficiency, several experimental factorswere investigated, including sample pH, salt concentration, surfactant concentration, equilibration temperature, andincubation time. Under the optimized experimental conditions, the linear ranges were 0.06-1, 0.03-1, and 0.01-1 µgmL−1for PNAL, MNAL, and ONAL, respectively. The limits of detection (LOD) for PNAL, MNAL, and ONAL were0.013, 0.005, and 0.002 µg mL−1with the intraday and interday relative standard deviations less than 3.1% and 6.5%. The present method proved to be simple, green, rapid, sensitive, and competitive when used for the determination ofnitroanilines in water samples, and the accuracy was assessed through recovery experiments.
