Synthesis and Sinterability of Hydroxyapatite from Fishery by-products

Hydroxyapatites (HAps) were synthesized using the powdered waste of fishery products, i.e., fish scales and crab shells, as starting materials. HAp was synthesized by a wet-chemistry method followed by calcination at 600 and $800^{\circ}C$. Calcined crabshell powder revealed a single HAp phase and fine powder, while calcined fish-scale powder showed a ${\beta}-TCP$ secondary phase, even at the higher calcination temperature. Dense HAp pellets were obtained from the crab-shell powder by spark plasma sintering at $1000^{\circ}C$ for 10 min under applied pressures of 40 and 80 MPa in a vacuum state, giving sample densities of 2.93 and $3.06g/cm^3$, respectively. The estimated grain size of HAp was $448{\pm}96$ and $283{\pm}59nm$ for applied pressures of 40 and 80 MPa, respectively. In contrast, the HAp obtained using the pressureless sintering technique showed excessive grain growth without further densification.

Passive safety is a primary motive behind the development of small and medium sized reactors of various coolants. After the Fukushima accident, there is an increased interest in a nuclear reactor's reliance on passive safety systems. Most of the existing passive systems, regardless of the reactor type, utilize buoyancy force to drive the cooling flow. Hence, it is essential to evaluate if the naturally developed cooling flow is sufficient to maintain the heated surface temperature of the fuel elements below the design limit. Evaluating passively driven flows can be quite a challenging task in both two phase natural circulation systems and also in single phase natural circulation systems. Previous research works have found that single phase heat transfer can be deteriorated and becomes uncertain when the driving force of a system is shifted from external force (forced convection) to self generated buoyancy force or a combination of both (natural or mixed convection). In this paper, single phase gas, water, and liquid metal reactors with passive systems are reviewed briefly. A simple theoretical analysis of each reactor type is performed to find the tendency of the shift in the operating heat transfer regime into the deteriorated region. The analysis results show that single phase water system can maintain operation within the forced convection regime but the operating regime gets closer to the deteriorating heat transfer regime as the system's physical size reduces from a large nuclear power plant to the small and medium reactor scale. The gas cooled system has a high tendency to operate in the deteriorated heat transfer regime when the driving force changes from forced to natural. Meanwhile the liquid metal system demonstrates more margins to operate outside from the deteriorated heat transfer region compared to the two other fluid systems. However further studies are needed to clearly identify the boundaries of the deteriorated heat transfer regime for each coolant since the deterioration greatly depends on the thermophysical properties variation of the coolant and the near-wall flow behavior of the coolant with respect to temperature change.

Social media has quickly becoming tools of choice for communicating between brand and their customers. Among all social medias, instagram is seen as the most effective one, especially for fashion brands. Instagram’s main function to share videos and pictures is suitable with visual communication methods that is often being used by fashion brands. Posts with high amount of likes and positive comments may increase brand awareness and can trigger positive e-WOM (Electronic Word of Mouth) among customers and potential customers. Why is communicating with consumers very important? Because in this era consumers are brands’ most trustworthy and loyal marketers for company’s products (Çukul, 2015). Customers are likely to believe review from their families and friends rather than reviews that is being written by the company itself (Chang, 2014). Realizing the importance of nurturing positive word of mouths among customers, this paper is going to use qualitative analysis to analyze Instagram posts of well-known local fashion brands to find out what kind of post that will generate the highest positive e-WOM feedback from the audience. Content of Instagram account of researched brands are being examined according to post type (photo / video), content type (9 elements), number of likes and reviews, photo type (amateur / professional), and shooting place (studio / outdoor / shops). Analysis is conducted to understand what kind of Instagram post that will give positive feedback from their customers. The result of this paper will serve as guidance for company to tailor interesting and engaging post hence increasing the probability of creating positive e-WOM that will increase brand image that ultimately will increase sales.
Institutional Strengthening and Capacity Building: A Case Study in Indonesia

This study seeks to examine and analyze the influence of institutional strengthening factors, and capacity building - communication, resources, and training - on the performance of defense policy implementation. This study conducted a quantitative analysis related to the implementation of the institutional strengthening policy. The data used are primary data with a research instrument in the form of a questionnaire. The population in this study were all people in the city of Bandung, Indonesia. The sample of this study consisted of 200 respondents consisting of civilians and soldiers who served in the city of Bandung. Data analysis uses the Structural Equation Model (SEM) measurement model. The results of this study reveals that institutional strengthening (X1) influences positively and significantly capacity building's communication (Y1), resources (Y2), and training (Y3). On the other hand, the performance of defense policy implementation (Y4) is positively and significantly affected by capacity building's communication (Y1), resources (Y2), and training (Y3). The interaction between institutions, consumption support, role of the healthcare sector, and effectiveness are the most important indicators reflecting capacity building (communication, resources, training) and the performance of defense policy implementation. Essentially, this study analyzes the performance of defense policy implementation based on capacity building.

Dry reforming of methane (DRM) is a highly promising reforming technology that facilitates convertingCO2-rich natural gas into synthesis gas. However, the commercial application of DRM has concerns suchas carbon deposition and sintering of the catalyst at high temperatures, leading to catalyst deactivation. This study aimed to determine the effect of an alkaline promoter addition on the amount of carbondeposited and activity test of alkaline-promoted nickel-based catalysts. Alkaline-promoted nickelbasedcatalysts were prepared using the incipient wetness impregnation method, followed by characterizationusing X-ray diffraction, N2 physisorption, H2-TPR, CO2-TPD, and thermogravimetric analysis. Theperformances of the catalysts were tested in a fixed-bed reactor under atmospheric pressure at 700 C for240 min. The Mg-promoted catalyst yielded the highest CH4 conversion (78%), CO2 conversion (64%), andH2 to CO ratio (1.52) compared to the non-promoted nickel-based and other alkaline-promoted catalysts. Furthermore, the thermogravimetric analysis revealed the Mg and Na-promoted catalyst produced 1.2and 3.5 times less carbon than a commercial steam reforming catalyst.
A simulation of the comminution process of homogenized lithium-ion battery models

The simulation of the comminution process of a lithium-ion battery model and evaluation of the performance of three cylindrical battery models derived from previous studies were achieved in the present study. The finite element method (FEM) was used along with dynamic simulation procedures. The models were classified based on the battery material model parameters used in the analysis, namely type A, B, and C models. The battery material models of type A and C were unable to provide results that were consistent with real-world circumstances. In contrast, the type B model gives a realistic battery dynamic reaction. Additional testing on the type B model was performed in terms of battery shard size, fracture energy, comminution pressures, element displacement, battery element velocity, and device capacity calculation. The simulation results revealed that the type B model in this study is capable of properly predicting the dynamic response of the battery, notably when compared to the other two models. The study in the present research could be used in the future to identify the proper cutting tool geometry, estimate the size of the comminution product, and play an important role in the design and optimization of the comminution machine.
Evaluating the Quality of Public Services Through Social Media

Public services need to be evaluated regularly to identify areas that need further improvement. Data collection via Twitter is affordable and timely, so it has the potential to be utilized to evaluate the quality of public service. This study utilizes tweets mentioning three service units of the provincial government of Jakarta and applies both sentiment analysis and topic classification to predict a rating/score of public service quality. The research goal is to examine if the evaluation of public services based on social media data is possible. The findings indicate that the use of Twitter has an advantage in terms of sample size and variety of opinions. Tweets can be translated into scores as well. Nonetheless, the representativeness issue and the predominance of complaint tweets can affect the reliability of the results.
