Power Decoupling Method for Single Phase Differential Buck Converter
Wenli Yao,Yi Tang,Xiaobin Zhang,Xiongfei Wang,Poh Chiang Loh,Frede Blaabjerg 전력전자학회 2015 ICPE(ISPE)논문집 Vol.2015 No.6
The well-known inherent second-order ripple power in single phase converters imposes harmonic stress on the dc link, resulting in low efficiency and overheating issues. In order to avoid installing bulky electrolytic capacitors or LC filters in the dc-link, this paper presents a differential buck inverter to improve the dc link power quality, and an improved active power decoupling method is proposed to achieve ripple power reduction for both AC-DC and DC-AC conversions. The ripple energy storage is realized by the filter capacitors, which are connected between the output terminal and the negative dc bus. By properly controlling the differential mode voltage of the capacitors, it is possible to transfer desired energy between the DC port and AC port. The common mode voltage is controlled in such a way that the ripple power on the dc side will be reduced. Furthermore, an autonomous reference generation technique is proposed to provide accurate ripple power compensation, and closed-loop controllers are also designed based on small signal models. The effectiveness of this power decoupling method is verified by detailed simulation studies as well as laboratory prototype experimental results.

In this paper, a nonlinear adaptive damping controller based on radial basis function neural network (RBFNN), which can infinitely approximate to nonlinear system, is proposed for thyristor controlled series capacitor (TCSC). The proposed TCSC adaptive damping controller can not only have the characteristics of the conventional PID, but adjust the parameters of PID controller online using identified Jacobian information from RBFNN. Hence, it has strong adaptability to the variation of the system operating condition. The effectiveness of the proposed controller is tested on a two-machine five-bus power system and a four-machine two-area power system under different operating conditions in comparison with the lead-lag damping controller tuned by evolutionary algorithm (EA). Simulation results show that the proposed damping controller achieves good robust performance for damping the low frequency oscillations under different operating conditions and is superior to the lead-lag damping controller tuned by EA.
Storage strategies for containers in container yards
Yao Wen Ma,Su Min Jeon,Kap Hwan Kim 대한산업공학회 2008 대한산업공학회 춘계학술대회논문집 Vol.2008 No.5
Container storage problem is a critical issue for the efficient operation of container terminal. The storage yard in the study is horizontal layout, in which one quay crane is served by several yard cranes and one vessel is served by several blocks during vessel operation. This study addresses various storage strategies for horizontal container lay yard layout. The storage strategies include the strategy for selecting blocks, reserving spaces for a group of containers in advance, and selecting yard stacks. The proposed strategies are tested by a simulation study.
A novel role of dipeptidyl peptidase 9 in epidermal growth factor signaling.

<P>Dipeptidyl peptidase IV (DPP4), DPP8, DPP9, and fibroblast activation protein (FAP), the four proteases of the DPP4 gene family, have unique peptidase and extra-enzymatic activities that have been implicated in various diseases including cancers. We report here a novel role of DPP9 in regulating cell survival and proliferation through modulating molecular signaling cascades. Akt (protein kinase B) activation was significantly inhibited by human DPP9 overexpression in human hepatoma cells (HepG2 and Huh7) and human embryonic kidney cells (HEK293T), whereas extracellular signal-regulated kinases (ERK1/2) activity was unaffected, revealing a pathway-specific effect. Interestingly, the inhibitory effect of DPP9 on Akt pathway activation was growth factor dependent. DPP9 overexpression caused apoptosis and significantly less epidermal growth factor (EGF)-mediated Akt activation in HepG2 cells. However, such inhibitory effect was not observed in cells stimulated with other growth factors, including connective tissue growth factor, hepatic growth factor, insulin or platelet-derived growth factor-BB. The effect of DPP9 on Akt did not occur when DPP9 enzyme activity was ablated by either mutagenesis or inhibition. The phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K)/Akt pathway is a major downstream effector of Ras. We found that DPP9 and DPP8, but not DPP4 or FAP, associate with H-Ras, a key signal molecule of the EGF receptor signaling pathway. These findings suggest an important signaling role of DPP9 in the regulation of survival and proliferation pathways.</P>
Influence of Rear Earth Yb on the Specific Heat of Liquid Fe-Co-Yb Alloy
Yao, Wen Jing,Wang, Nan,Lee, Jeh Yun Trans Tech Publications 2013 Advanced materials research Vol.690 No.-
<P>By Monte Carlo method with EAM potentials, the specific heat of liquid Co50Fe50 and Co48Fe48Th4 alloys at different temperatures are obtained. The effect of Th on the thermophysical parameters is examined. Over the temperature range from 1400 to 2000 K, the specific heat decreases from to Jmol-1K-1 after Th was added. It is the addition of Th element which has bigger atomic radius, larger atomic mass, and complex arrangement of extranuclear electron, leads to the reduced specific heat.</P>

Chemoresistance is the most common cause of chemotherapy failure during breast cancer (BCA) treatment. It is generally known that the mechanisms of chemoresistance in tumors involve multiple genes and multiple signaling pathways,; if appropriate drugs are used to regulate the mechanisms at the gene level, it should be possible to effectively reverse chemoresistance in BCA cells. It has been confirmed that chemoresistance in BCA cells could be reversed by ginsenoside Rh2 (G-Rh2). Preliminary studies of our group identified some drugresistance specific miRNA. Accordingly, we proposed that G-Rh2 could mediate drug-resistance specific miRNA and corresponding target genes through the gene regulatory network; this could cut off the drug-resistance process in tumors and enhance treatment effects. G-Rh2 and breast cancer cells were used in our study. Through pharmaceutical interventions, we could explore how G-Rh2 could inhibit chemotherapy resistance in BCA, and analyze its impact on related miRNA and target genes. Finally, we will reveal the anti-resistance molecular mechanisms of G-Rh2 from a different angle in miRNA-mediated chemoresistance signals among cells.
Solute Distribution Ahead of Interface during Heteroepitaxial Growth
Yao, Wen Jing,Jin, Zeng Jia,Wang, Nan,Lee, Jeh Yun Trans Tech Publications 2013 Advanced materials research Vol.690 No.-
<P>By establishing a diffusion model, the solute distribution is investigated during the growth of eutectic phase from the binary melt on the primary phase. Based on the eutectic reaction conditions, reasonable assumptions are carried out to build the partial differential equation. After the determination of the initial and boundary conditions, the analytical solutions have been derived from the method of variables separation. The solute distribution ahead of interface and the influence of this distribution on the growth rate of heteroepitaxial phase are discussed.</P>

Wen-Bo Zhu,Xiao-Hui Zhao,Hai-Liang Li,Chen-Yang Guo,Quan-Jun Yao,Xiang Geng,Ke Zhao,Hong-Tao Hu 소화기인터벤션의학회 2022 International journal of gastrointestinal interven Vol.11 No.4
Percutaneous abscess drainage (PAD) has been proven to be a safe, effective, and widely used technique for the treatment of patients with abscesses after gastrointestinal surgery. The indications for PAD are expanding and most postoperative abscesses of the gastrointestinal tract are susceptible to PAD. PAD uses various imaging methods, including ultrasound, computed tomography, and several safe and reliable catheter insertion methods.
