Electrochemical energy storage devices have attracted considerable attention because of their ability tosupply high energy and power in energy management systems. In this work, we synthesized highly electrochemicallyactive nickel boride/nickel borate (NixB/NiBxOy) composite materials using a chemicalcoprecipitation method. The variation of precursor solution’s concentration controlled the chemical, morphological, surface area and structural properties of composite material. The electrochemical measurementsof NixB/NiBxOy material display a high charge storage capacity of 201.5 mAh/g at 5 mV s1scan rate amongst the different concentration. The charge storage capacity, rate capability and cycle stabilityof NixB/NiBxOy materials were effectively controlled by the material composition, structure, size, surface area and porosity feature through the charge kinetics, surface and diffusive capacity contributionand the battery–type charge storage mechanism. These findings provide an important insight to controlelectrochemical properties by optimizing the physical and chemical features of battery–type material.

Mycosporine-like amino acids (MAAs) are metabolites produced by a variety of freshwater and marine organisms including bacteria, fungi, and algae. MAAs play an important role of photoprotection, i.e., protection of these organisms from harmful UV radiations. One of the MAAs, Porphyra-334 was subjected to study its opto electrical properties by Silicon nano-ribbon field effect transistor (FET) device and by cyclic voltammetry. SiNR and SP FET showed ambipolar characteristics. Porphyra-334 enhanced the photoconductivity of the SP FET. The electrochemical properties were described by cyclic voltammetry (CV) which supported the previous studies that Porphyra-334 is not an antioxidant and is oxidatively robust. The high electrochemical stability of the Porphyra-334 solution was demonstrated by the low current amplitude (mu A). Electrochemical Impedance spectroscopy was also performed. The Nyquist plot showed high resistance for Porphyra-334 under dark and illuminating conditions. These high resistance values demonstrate that within the solution, transport of Porphyra-334 molecules is slow, which indicates that Porphyra-334 molecules have good electrochemical stability.

The purpose of this study was to measure and analyze the residual particles in the epitaxial growth chamber that can affect the process and the particles generated during the PM(preventive maintenance), which is the process of inspecting and replacing equipment parts. First, we devised a method using an ELPI(electric low pressure impactor) that can conduct real-time measurement of particle number, mass concentration and enable further analysis of chemical component by collecting the particles on the impactor substrates. Based on the result, it was confirmed that there are few particles in chamber before preventive maintenance and it is possible that amount of particles were generated or flowed from outside during the preventive maintenance work. Additionally, the components of the collected particles were analyzed through SEM-EDS analysis.
