Recurrent Acute Pancreatitis/ Chronic Pancreatitis (RAP/ CP) is generally marked by sudden onset of symptoms like severe abdominal pain, vomiting and weight loss that needs emergency hospitalization. Owing to irreversible and progressive nature of the disease and limitations of conventional treatment, many patients look for an alternative solution. Here, we report data of 250 well diagnosed cases of acute recurring/ chronic pancreatitis, enrolled in between January 1997 to August 2016, in our Ayurvedic clinical practice in Northern part of India. Ayurveda is well recognized as an independent medical system parallel to conventional medicines in India and a subject is free to opt for any system of medicine for the prevention and treatment of any ailment. The subjects were treated with a complex herbo-mineral formulation based on the principles of Rasa Shastra in Ayurveda that deals with the therapeutics of processed metals in the prevention and treatment of diseases. They were also prescribed a regulated balanced diet and lifestyle. Significant improvement has been noted in subjects who have completed the treatment.

Combating anaemia is a global public health challenge of the developing world. Nutritional anaemia is a serious health problem faced by Indian school children. An investigation was taken up to study the effect of non iron containing Ayurvedic preparation Sootshekhar Rasa (SR) plus Sitopaladi Churna (SC) along with iron and folic acid (IFA) for improving nutritional anaemia among adolescent school going students of Dehradun district in Northern India. The blinded, controlled randomized trial comprised of 820 adolescents anaemic students aged 11 - 18 years. The anaemic students were randomly divided into 4 groups, students of group I (control) received starch, group II, III, and IV students received daily dose of (SR 250 mg + SC 400 mg), IFA and (SR 250 mg + SC 400 mg) + IFA, respectively. All the students received treatment for 90days and were followed up for next 180days. At the end of follow-up (day 270), significant increase of haemoglobin (Hb) level from the base line was recorded in all treatment groups. The maximum gain in Hb concentration was noted in group IV (10.1 ± 0.6 g/L), which was significantly higher than any other group. There were 123 drop-outs; however, no major side effect of treatment was noted in any student. We conclude that daily dose of (SR 250 mg + SC 400 mg) along with IFA can produce sustainable improvement of nutritional anaemia in adolescent students.

Geopolymer concrete is finding a growing number of niche applications in the field of civil engineering due to its high compressive strength and strength gain rate, retainage of structural properties in elevated temperature environments, chemical stability in highly acidic conditions and environmental benefits. Combining the above mentioned characteristics with induced electrical conductivity, could enable geopolymer cement to serve as a smart and sustainable cementitious material suitable for health monitoring of civil structures. Carbon fibers were added to fresh geopolymer and OPC (ordinary Portland cement) mixes to enhance their electrical conductivities. AC-impedance spectroscopy analysis was performed on the specimens with fiber fraction ranging from 0.008 to 0.8 with respect to the weight of cementitious binder, to measure their electrical resistivity values and to determine the maximum beneficial fiber content required to attain electrical percolation. Experimental observations suggest that CFR-geopolymer cement exhibits superior performance to CFR-OPC in terms of conducting electrical current.

Information retrieval is the challenge of the Web 2.0 world. The experiment of knowledge organisation in the context of abundant information available from various sources proves a major hurdle in obtaining information retrieval with greater precision and recall. The fast-changing landscape of information organisation through social networking sites at a personal level creates a world of opportunities for data scientists and also library professionals to assimilate the social data with expert created data. Thus, folksonomies or social tags play a vital role in information organisation and retrieval. The comparison of these user-created tags with expert-created index terms, author keywords and title words, will throw light on the differentiation between these sets of data. Such comparative studies show revelation of a new set of terms to enhance subject access and reflect the extent of similarity between user-generated tags and other set of terms. The CiteULike tags extracted from 5,150 scholarly journal articles in marine science were compared with corresponding Aquatic Science and Fisheries Abstracts descriptors, author keywords, and title terms. The Jaccard similarity coefficient method was employed to compare the social tags with the above mentioned wordsets, and results proved the presence of user-generated keywords in Aquatic Science and Fisheries Abstracts descriptors, author keywords, and title words. While using information retrieval techniques like stemmer and lemmatization, the results were found to enhance keywords to subject access.
Case studies on prophylactic ayurvedic therapy in migraine patients

Ayurveda is a nearly 3000 years old traditional medical system of India. Most of the time, people turn to ayurvedic physicians in desperate conditions. Here clinical practices of Ayurveda were initially found effective in the management of migraine among few patients. Later, it was developed as an ayurvedic treatment protocol (ATP) which consists of four herbo-mineral formulations (HMF), three meals and three snacks in a day with eight hours sleep at night. ATP brought significant relief in reducing the frequency, intensity of pain and associated symptoms in the migraine patients. IHS diagnostic criteria was followed to establish the diagnosis of migraine and uniform ATP was prescribed to each patient who were primarily treated by the ayurvedic physicians at their respective clinics. Such observations were presented at appropriate international forums. In an effort to validate the above, the present study carries the details of nine migraine patients who were first diagnosed and treated for migraine by a leading headache expert at Mumbai in India and were then referred to receive ATP. A total number of nine subjects volunteered to this program. Out of those, seven subjects completed 120 days of ATP. Five subjects reported significant improvement in overall symptoms of migraine. All subjects were followed up periodically for four years. No Grade II side effects were observed in any treated case. HMF has also been proved to be safe in experimental studies. Further pharmacological and randomized controlled clinical studies are in progress at the respective departments of a premier medical institute in India.
Some New Results on Seidel Equienergetic Graphs
Vaidya, Samir K.,Popat, Kalpesh M. Department of Mathematics 2019 Kyungpook mathematical journal Vol.59 No.2
The energy of a graph G is the sum of the absolute values of the eigenvalues of the adjacency matrix of G. Some variants of energy can also be found in the literature, in which the energy is defined for the Laplacian matrix, Distance matrix, Commonneighbourhood matrix or Seidel matrix. The Seidel matrix of the graph G is the square matrix in which $ij^{th}$ entry is -1 or 1, if the vertices $v_i$ and $v_j$ are adjacent or non-adjacent respectively, and is 0, if $v_i=v_j$. The Seidel energy of G is the sum of the absolute values of the eigenvalues of its Seidel matrix. We present here some families of pairs of graphs whose Seidel matrices have different eigenvalues, but who have the same Seidel energies.

This study compared stabilities of tocopherols and lutein in oil extracted from roasted mustard seeds (RMSO) with those in oil from unroasted seeds (URMSO)during oil oxidation at 60^oC in the dark for 12 days. Tocopherols and lutein were determined by high performance liquid chromatography, and the oil oxidation was monitored with conjugated dienoic acid (CDA) content and fatty acid composition by gas chromatography. The rate of CDA increase was lower in RMSO (0.038%/day) than in URMSO (0.047%/day) during 12-day oxidation in the dark, with little change in fatty acid composition in both oils. Tocopherols and lutein were more abundant in RMSO,initially 465.38 and 100.55 μg/g, respectively, than in URMSO, and their stability was higher in RMSO (−4.63and −5.94%/day of degradation in tocopherols and lutein, respectively) than in URMSO during 12-day oxidation of oil, both of which contributed to higher autoxidative stability of RMSO than URMSO.
