The study was conducted to determine the knowledge and practices of vegetable farmers in Hanoi, Vietnam in controlling mites, and their attitude towards N. longispinosus as biological control agent against T. urticae on green bean. The field surveys conducted in Tang My and Son Du hamlets, two of the largest vegetable production areas in Dong Anh district, show that the respondents in Tang My who had training on the vegetable IPM program had higher knowledge on green bean pest management and knew better about natural enemies and biological control than the ones without training in Son Du. However, both groups of respondents did not have enough knowledge on spider mite control and most of them did not know or hear about predatory mite before. Hence, 40 percent of the respondents said they would not use predatory mites, and 33 percent were still uncertain whether they will adopt this biological control. The paper suggests some recommendations to enhance farmers` use of biological control against mites on green beans.

Heavy metals recovery from Printed Circuit Boards industrial wastewater is crucial because of its cost effectiveness and environmental friendliness. In this study, a copper recovery route combining the sequential processes of acid leaching and LIX 984N extracting with an electrowinning technique from Printed Circuit Boards production's sludge was performed. The used residual sludge was originated from Hanoi Urban Environment One Member Limited Company (URENCO). The extracted solution from the printed circuit boards waste sludge containing a high copper concentration of 19.2 g/L and a small amount of iron (0.575 ppm) was used as electrolyte for the subsequent electrolysis process. By using a simulation model for multi-step current electrolysis, the reasonable current densities for an electrolysis time interval of 30 minutes were determined, to optimize the specific consumption energy for the copper recovery. The mathematical simulation model was built to calculate the important parameters of this process.

Iron-organic framework Fe3O(BPDC)3 was synthesized, and subsequently utilized as an productive heterogeneous catalyst for the cyclization reaction of N,N-dialkylanilines with ketoxime carboxylates to produce aryl-substituted pyridines. This iron-organic framework catalyst demonstrated remarkably higher catalytic productivity for the synthesis of aryl-substituted pyridines as compared to numerous conventional homogeneous catalysts as well as MOF-based catalysts. It was possible to reuse the iron- framework catalyst in the cyclization transformation for numerous cycles without a noticeable decline in activity. To our best knowledge, this is the first heterogeneous catalytic approach towards the synthesis of aryl-substituted pyridines from ketoximes.

A metal–organic framework Fe3O(BPDC)3 was synthesized, and used as a productive heterogeneouscatalyst for the direct C–N coupling of azoles with ethers via oxidative C–H activation to produce azolederivatives. The MOF-based catalyst displayed higher catalytic efficiency than many homogeneouscatalysts as well as several MOFs in the transformation. The MOF-based catalyst could be reused manytimes for the synthesis of azole derivatives by the direct C–N coupling of azoles with ethers without anoteworthy deterioration in catalytic efficiency. To the best of our knowledge, this direct C–N couplingreaction was not previously performed in the presence of heterogeneous catalysts.

A Fe-Mo-Se nanopowder, synthesized by a solvothermal protocol, was utilized as a heterogeneouscatalyst for the synthesis of 2-arylquinazolines from DL-α-phenylglycine-based α-amino acids and2-nitrobenzyl alcohols via domino transformations. High yields and selectivity were achieved undersolvent-free conditions. The Fe-Mo-Se catalyst offered considerably higher activity than numeroushomogeneous and heterogeneous catalysts. To our best knowledge, this domino reaction is new, and theutilization of iron-molybdenum selenide catalyst in the synthesis of quinazolines was not previouslyreported.

<P>Five new compounds, 16,23,29-trihydroxy-3-oxo-olean-12-en-28-oic acid (<B>1</B>), 4,23,29-trihydroxy-3,4-<I>seco</I>-olean-12-en-3-oate-28-oic acid (<B>2</B>), 3β,6β,23-trihydroxyolean-12-en-28-oic acid 28-<I>O</I>-β-<SMALL>d</SMALL>-glucopyranoside (<B>3</B>), 3-<I>O</I>-[2,3-di<I>-O</I>-acetyl-α-<SMALL>l</SMALL>-arabinopyranosyl]hederagenin 28-<I>O</I>-α-<SMALL>l</SMALL>-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→4)-β-<SMALL>d</SMALL>-glucopyranosyl-(1→6)-β-<SMALL>d</SMALL>-glucopyranoside (<B>4</B>), and 3-<I>O</I>-[3,4-di-<I>O</I>-acetyl-α-<SMALL>l</SMALL>-arabinopyranosyl]hederagenin 28-<I>O</I>-α-<SMALL>l</SMALL>-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→4)-β-<SMALL>d</SMALL>-glucopyranosyl-(1→6)-β-<SMALL>d</SMALL>-glucopyranoside (<B>5</B>), as well as 10 known compounds (<B>6</B>–<B>15</B>), were isolated from the stem bark of <I>Kalopanax pictus</I>. Compounds <B>1</B>–<B>5</B> and <B>7</B>–<B>14</B> inhibited TNFα-induced NF-κB transcriptional activity in HepG2 cells in a dose-dependent manner, with IC<SUB>50</SUB> values ranging from 0.6<B></B>to 16.4 μM. Furthermore, the transcriptional inhibitory function of these compounds was confirmed on the basis of decreases in COX-2 and iNOS gene expression in HepG2 cells. Design of an Advanced Wearable Sensor Platform for Multi Applications

In the emerging Internet-of-Things (IoT), wireless sensors are the vital mediators between the physical world and the cyber space. In many telemonitoring and interactive applications, high-rate data streams up to MB/s may need to be transported from the wireless sensors to the cloud computing servers over the Internet and processed by the remote servers in quasi-real time fashion. These applications generally demand substantial reduction of communication bandwidth, response latency and power consumption of these Internet-based cyber-physical systems. To tackle these demands for efficient use of communication, computing and power resources, we developed an advanced wearable sensor platform (AWSP) which integrated a powerful system-on-chip (SoC) processor, a smart power management unit, a highly accurate real-time clock and multi-function peripherals into a miniature module. This AWSP designed to function is capable of performing sophisticated data pre-processing including real-time artifact and noise removal, data compression, and even feature extraction before uploading the data to other devices like mobile phone, computer, etc. Furthermore, with the installation of embedded real-time Linux operating system, this sensor provides a familiar and powerful software development environment for system developers to build their computation-intensive real-time applications. This paper presents the design and development process.

A novel organic photocatalyst, 4-(10H-phenothiazin-10-yl)-N,N-diphenylaniline (PDPA) has been successfully synthesized from triphenylamine and phenothiazine moiety via Buchwald-Hartwig C-N coupling. The chemical structure of catalyst was characterized via proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR) and the optical properties were investigated via UV-vis spectroscopy. The PDPA has been applied as an organic photocatalyst for metal free atom transfer radical polymerization (O-ATRP). The well-controlled molecular weights of polymethacrylates have been obtained with high yield of 95% and narrow polydispersity index (Đ).
