Objectives. We aimed to develop a new calculation model for calcium requirements in dialysis patients following parathy-roidectomy. Methods. A total of 98 patients with secondary hyperparathyroidism receiving parathyroidectomy from January 2014 toJanuary 2022 were enrolled in this study. Among these patients, 78 were randomly selected for construction of thecalcium requirement calculation model, and the remaining 20 patients were selected for model validation. The calci-um requirement model estimated the total calcium supplementation for 1 week after surgery using variables withsignificant relationships in the derivation group by stepwise multiple linear regression analysis. Bias, precision, andaccuracy were measured in the validation group to determine the performance of the model. Results. The model was as follows: calcium requirement for 1 week after surgery =33.798–8.929×immediate postoperativecalcium+0.190×C-reactive protein–0.125×age+0.002×preoperative intact parathyroid hormone+0.003×preopera-tive alkaline phosphatase (R2 =0.8). The model was successfully validated. Conclusion. We generated a novel model to guide calcium supplementation. This model can assist in stabilizing the serumcalcium levels of patients during the early postoperative period. Furthermore, it contributes to the individualized andprecise treatment of hypocalcemia in patients following parathyroidectomy.

Objective: We aimed to define clinicopathologic risk factors associated with regional recurrence (RR) and thus the effectiveness of postoperative radiotherapy (PORT) for neck control for head and neck squamous cell carcinomas (HNSCCs) with differing cervical lymph node status. Methods: A retrospective study was performed in 196 HNSCC patients with pathologically positive neck node (N+) to evaluate the high-risk factors for RR and to define the role of PORT in control after neck dissection and postoperative radiotherapy (PORT). Results: Overall, the RR rate after neck dissection and PORT was 29%. Extracapsular spread (ECS) was confirmed to be the only independent risk factor for RR. There were no significant risk factors associated with RR in the ECS- group. The 5-year disease-specific survival rate was 45%, which descended to 10% with the emergence of RR. Conclusions: ECS remains a determined risk factor for RR after neck dissection and PORT in patients with N+. PORT alone is not adequate for preventing RR in the neck with ECS after neck dissection. More intensive postoperative adjuvant therapies, especially combined chemotherapy and radiotherapy, are needed to prevent regional failure in HNSCC patients with ECS.
Stancu type generalization of modified Gamma operators based on q-integers

In this paper, we propose the Stancu type generalization of a kind of modified $q$-Gamma operators. We estimate the moments of these operators and give the basic convergence theorem. We also obtain the Voronovskaja type theorem. Furthermore, we obtain the local approximation, rate of convergence and weighted approximation for these operators.

Purpose: Our study aimed to make a propensity score matching (PSM) analysis on the clinical application of gastric- jejunum pouch anastomosis (GJPA) and Billroth-II anastomosis after distal gastrectomy. Methods: We collected clinical data from 249 patients who received distal gastrectomy from January 2016 to July 2020. According to the reconstruction method used, all patients were divided into the Billroth-II group and the GJPA group. Clinical data and operation complications were analyzed. Results: The clinical characteristics of the 2 groups were comparable after PSM. In the Billroth-II group, the incidence rate of delayed gastric emptying was higher than that in the GJPA group. Fewer patients suffered reflux gastritis in the GJPA group. The RGB (residue, gastritis, and bile) scores related to the severity of bile reflux into the remnant stomach, gastritis, and residue were higher in the Billroth-II group. Postoperative nutritional status and Visick classification demonstrated that postoperative subjective feelings in the GJPA group were improved significantly. Conclusion: The application of GJPA in reconstruction after distal gastrectomy is safe, economical, and reliable. This reconstruction improved the quality of life of patients. It is worth popularizing widely in clinical settings.
Poly(vinylidene fluoride)/Plasma-Treated BaTiO3 Nanocomposites with Enhanced Electroactive Phase
Ran Ding,Lei Gong,Ming-ming Li,Shu-hua Chen,Shi-ping Zhan,Xu-dong Sun,Cheng Zhang,Tao Shao 한국고분자학회 2018 Macromolecular Research Vol.26 No.11
Functional C=O and C-O groups are successfully fixated onto the surface of a high dielectric constant material barium titanate (BaTiO3) via non-thermal plasma. The strong dipole interaction exists between these functional groups and CH2 or CF2 groups of poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF), resulting in the enhancement of the electroactive γ-phase of PVDF/BaTiO3 nanocomposites on one hand; on the other hand the dispersion of BaTiO3 is enhanced in the PVDF matrix, where the smaller spherulite size and better hydrophilic property are observed in the PVDF/plasmatreated BaTiO3 nanocomposite, comparing with the untreated ones. Therefore, the PVDF/plasma-treated BaTiO3 nanoparticles exhibited higher dielectric constant and lower dielectric loss than the PVDF/BaTiO3 nanoparticles.

SYNTHESIS AND PROPERTIES OF ONE-DIMENSIONAL ALUMINUM NITRIDE NANOSTRUCTURES
YONG-BING TANG,HONG-TAO CONG,HUI-MING CHENG 성균관대학교(자연과학캠퍼스) 성균나노과학기술원 2007 NANO Vol.2 No.6
This article presents a brief review of the recent research progresses achieved in the field of one-dimensional (1D) aluminum nitride (AlN) nanostructures. It mainly covers three aspects: The first one is to introduce the synthetic strategies for several classic 1D AlN nanostructures (such as nanofibers, nanobelts, nanorods, nanowires, nanotips, etc.) including template-confined reaction, arc discharge, catalyst-assisted growth, and vapor transport and related growth methods. The second is to elaborate some special physical properties, such as field emission and photoluminescence, which associate with the uniqueness of 1D AlN nanostructures. It is revealed that aligned AlN 1D nanostructures have low turn-on and threshold voltages, high emission current and small current fluctuation, and that the photoluminescence of AlN nanobelts are different from those of conventional AlN material. The third is to briefly illustrate the potential application of these 1D AlN nanostructures in composite materials. It is found that AlN nanowire is a good reinforcement for improving the mechanical and thermal properties of metal matrix composites, which can be expected to be utilized as packaging material with high strength and low thermal expansion. Finally, we summarize the major challenges in this field. Among them, a thorough understanding of the growth mechanism of 1D AlN nanostructures is the most important issue, and more precisely controlled growth is required to obtain tailored AlN nanostructures according to device applications.
