How will Changes in North Korean Legislation Affect Inter-Korean Exchanges and Cooperation?

Sunhye Moon 통일연구원 2020 International journal of korean unification studie Vol.29 No.1

Changes in North Korean legislation are quite important for inter-Korean exchanges and cooperation. Because the flow of inter-Korean exchanges and cooperation so far has only been done in one direction from South to North Korea, the legal system that supported them was bound to be based on North Korean law. I would like to predict that the legislative volume of the sub-legal codes will increase more and the contents of them will be subdivided in North Korea. Legislation will be further developed in areas that target foreigners, and used to strengthen and protect the power of the ruling class. There will be more legislation related to the tax system. Those changes in North Korean legislation will affect inter-Korean exchanges and cooperation. It is time to grasp in advance the various issues that may arise in that and set up countermeasures to preemptively handle them.

      • Environmental Factors Related to Non-compliant Health Behavior in the Urban-Dwelling Elderly

        Minkyung Park,Jisu Park,Sunhye Moon,Heejung Kim 한국간호과학회 2021 한국간호과학회 학술대회 Vol.2021 No.10

Aim(s): The purpose of this study is to explore non-compliant health behavior among the urban-dwelling elderly and identify related environmental factors. Method(s): This study analyzed the integrated data from the 2017 Korean National Survey on the Elderly and the 2017 Annual Report of Air Quality in Korea (N = 3,198). In this study, health behavior includes seven recommendations for promoting health. Social and physical environmental factors were selected based on Bronfenbrenner’s ecosystem theory, including air quality as an environmental factor. Hierarchical multiple regression analysis was used to analyze the data, while controlling for general characteristics of the elderly. Result(s): The average score for non-compliant health behavior was 3.05 ± 1.03 among seven health behaviors. Hierarchical multiple regression showed that the environmental factors related to non-compliant health behavior were social activity participation (β = .15, p ≤ .001); interactions with friends, neighbors, and acquaintances (β = .06, p = .002); access to institutions and facilities (β = .06, p = .001); and particulate matter concentration (β = -.10, p ≤ .001). Conclusion(s): Our study findings emphasized that social activity participation, interactions with significant others, access to institutions and facilities, and particulate matter concentration should be considered when developing ecological interventions to improve health behaviors among the urban-dwelling elderly.

      • 5-Lipoxygenase inhibitors suppress RANKL-induced osteoclast formation via NFATcl expression

5-Lipoxygenase synthesizes leukotrienes from arachidonic acid. We developed three novel 5-LO inhibi-tors having a benzoxazole scaffold as a potential anti-osteoclastogenics. They significantly suppressed RANKL-induced osteoclast formation in mouse bone marrow-derived macrophages. Furthermore, one compound. K7, inhibited the bone resorptive activity of osteoclasts. The anti-osteoclastogenic effect of K7 was mainly attributable to reduction in the expression of NFATc1. an essential transcription factor for osteoclast differentiation. K7 inhibited osteoclast formation via ERK and p38 MAPK. as well as NF-KB signaling pathways. K7 reduced lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced osteoclast formation in vivo. corroborating the in vitro data. Thus, IG exerted an inhibitory effect on osteoclast formation in vitro and in vivo, properties that make it a potential candidate for the treatment of bone diseases associated with excessive bone resorption.

        한국형 재활환자분류체계 버전 1.0 개발

황수진 ( Soojin Hwang ),김애련 ( Aeryun Kim ),문선혜 ( Sunhye Moon ),김지희 ( Jihee Kim ),김진휘 ( Jinhwi Kim ),하영혜 ( Younghea Ha ),양옥영 ( Okyoung Yang ) 한국보건행정학회 2016 보건행정학회지 Vol.26 No.4

Background: Rehabilitations in subacute phase are different from acute treatments regarding the characteristics and required resource consumption of the treatments. Lack of accuracy and validity of the Korean Diagnosis Related Group and Korean Out-Patient Group for the acute patients as the case-mix and payment tool for rehabilitation inpatients have been problematic issues. The objective of the study was to develop the Korean Rehabilitation Patient Group (KRPG) reflecting the characteristics of rehabilitation inpatients. Methods: As a retrospective medical record survey regarding rehabilitation inpatients, 4,207 episodes were collected through 42 hospitals. Considering the opinions of clinical experts and the decision-tree analysis, the variables for the KRPG system demonstrating the characteristics of rehabilitation inpatients were derived, and the splitting standards of the relevant variables were also set. Using the derived variables, we have drawn the rehabilitation inpatient classification model reflecting the clinical situation of Korea. The performance evaluation was conducted on the KRPG system. Results: The KRPG was targeted at the inpatients with brain or spinal cord injury. The etiologic disease, functional status (cognitive function, activity of daily living, muscle strength, spasticity, level and grade of spinal cord injury), and the patient`s age were the variables in the rehabilitation patients. The algorithm of KRPG system after applying the derived variables and total 204 rehabilitation patient groups were developed. The KRPG explained 11.8% of variance in charge for rehabilitation inpatients. It also explained 13.8% of variance in length of stay for them. Conclusion: The KRPG version 1.0 reflecting the clinical characteristics of rehabilitation inpatients was classified as 204 groups.
