Genetic Variations of Aspergillus fumigatus Clinical Isolates from Korea

Fungal infections by human pathogenic fungi are increasing globally in elderly, children and immune suppressed or deficient patients. Aspergillus fumigatus is one of the well-known pathogenic fungi and causes aspergilloses in human world widely. However, current identification and classification methods based on its phenotypic characteristics still have limitations. Therefore, currently, molecular biological tools using their DNA sequences are used for genotype identification and classification. In the present study, in order to analyze genetic variations of A. fumigatus clinical isolates, a total of six housekeeping genes were amplified by PCR using specific primer pairs and multi-locus sequence typing (MLST) assay. Results from phylogenetic tree analysis showed that most A. fumigatus strains (88.9%) from respiratory specimens were classified into cluster A and B, and approximately half of A. fumigatus strains (46%) from non-respiratory specimens were classified into cluster C and D. Although the sample size was limited, genetic characteristics of A. fumigatus clinical isolates according to their origins were very similar and well-correlated with other clinical data.
A Cross-Layer Strategy for Energy-Efficient Reliable Delivery in Wireless Sensor Networks

<P>In this paper, we investigate the problem of the lifetime maximization in wireless sensor networks under the constraint of end-to-end transmission success probability, by adopting a cross-layer strategy that considers physical layer (i.e., power control), MAC layer (i.e., retransmission control) and network layer (i.e., routing protocol) jointly. We decouple the problem into separate sub-problems of each layer and propose the optimal algorithm as well as an alternative heuristic algorithm with lower complexity for each sub-problem. We demonstrate through computer simulations that a trade-off relation exists between the network lifetime maximization and the reliability constraint, and the strategy that is designed by combining the proposed algorithm at each layer can significantly increase the network lifetime. We also investigate the effect of the retransmission control on the energy efficiency for different energy consumption models. Simulation results reveal that multiple retransmissions with low power yield little gain when the link distance is short and the power conversion efficiency of the amplifier increases with the transmission power</P>

In general, the role of the low-speed vehicle bumper is to absorb the impact during a collision and protect the vehicle with its occupants. In order to evaluate the efficiency of the bumper, each country must follow some domestic and international low-speed bumper impact standards and specifications to determine damaged regions. But it is only a consultation or confirmation and not actually the regulation of the efficiency of the bumper. Most automobiles evaluate the balance of the development stage of the bumper with the resultant price of completion which should not yield to a many difference. In this paper, we propose to automobiles possible conditions for an impact test of the low-speed vehicle bumper with great value results.

많은 내장형 자바 시스템들이 제한된 메모리를 가지고 있으므로 JITC를 위해 충분한 코드 캐시가 주어지지 않아 자바의 수행 성능이 떨어질 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 이를 극복하고자 수행 중에 코드 캐시 공간이 부족하면 일부 메소드의 머신 코드를 영구적 메모리의 파일 시스템에 저장해 두었다가 재호출 때에 다시 코드 캐시로 읽어와서 재활용하는 코드 캐시를 확장하는 수행 방식을 제안한다. 이는 기존의 클라이언트 선행 컴파일 기법을 수행 중에 코드 캐시 확장을 위해 적용한 것이다. 우리가 제안한 자바 수행 구조는 코드 캐시가 반으로 줄었을 때의 일반적인 자바 수행 방식보다 1.6배 좋은 성능을 보여주고 있다. Many embedded Java systems are equipped with limited memory, which can constrain the code cache size provided for Java just-in-time compilation, affecting the Java performance. This paper proposes expanding the limited code cache when it is full, by saving the machine code for some methods in the code cache into the file system of the permanent storage and reloading it to the code cache when they are re-invoked later. This is applying the client ahead-of-time compilation during the execution time for the purpose of enlarging the code cache. Our experimental results indicate that the proposed execution method can improve the performance by as much as 1.6 times compared to the conventional method, when the code cache size is reduced by half.

To extend the driving range of electric vehicles, various studies to maximize the driving efficiency such as optimization of driving force distribution are performed. Because an electric vehicle can recover energy through regenerative braking, it can be optimized to minimize energy consumption. However, because braking is directly related to the safety, it is required to achieve stable braking by distributing torque to the front and rear wheels. The maximum torque of the motor may not satisfy the required braking force, so hydraulic braking force can be required. In this study, the regenerative braking force distribution is optimized within the range of securing the braking stability of the vehicle by considering ideal braking force distribution and ECE regulations for braking. Modeling and simulation of front and rear axle independently driven electric vehicles is carried out, and the driving force and braking force are optimized. It is designed to satisfy the required braking force by the regenerative braking of the motor and support of the mechanical braking when needed. Through the WLTP cycle simulation, it is confirmed that the SOC consumption is decreased compared with the braking force distribution based on the I-Curve.

최근 어플리케이션의 이용자 수가 크게 증가함에 따라 다양한 어플리케이션이 창출되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 그러한 어플리케이션 중에서 도난방지에 관한 어플리케이션에 대하여 서술하며, 그에 따른 iOS의 세부적 기능인 APNS와 GPS 및 가속센서를 이용한 도난 방지 어플리케이션을 구현하였다.
