Thermal efficiency of internal combustion engines in vehicles should not exceed the maximum 35%. About a third of fuel power was converted to mechanical power. And the rest of power were wasted through the engine coolant, exhaust gas and the other losses. So, recently car makers consider to use the waste energy in the vehicle. This study focuses to design a high efficiency heat exchanger for exhaust waste heat recovery system. It has an advantages to improved fuel efficiency of 2% and reduced air pollutant. The purpose of this study is to design most efficient heat exchanger on the basis of same core size. Capacity of the heat exchanger is numerically analyzed and the performance is compared. In conclusion, capacity is increased more than 10% compared with the designed concept, though the coolant side pressure drop increased.
