BACKGROUND: We compared the relationship between inflammatory markers and neointimal hyperplasia (NIH) after drug-eluting stent (DES) implantation. METHODS: We implanted a single DES in 42 consecutive patients with stable angina. The plasma high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), interleukin-6 (IL-6), and matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) levels were measured before, and 24 and 72 h after the procedure. Angiography and intravascular ultrasound were performed. RESULTS: No relationship was noted between the baseline hs-CRP level and NIH. A significant positive correlation was noted between NIH and the hs-CRP level obtained at 24 h (r=0.435, P=0.004), and 72 h (r=0.334, P=0.031) after the procedure. Interestingly, there was a positive correlation between the change (&Dgr;) in the hs-CRP level and NIH at 24 h (r=0.414, P=0.006). The fourth quartile of the hs-CRP at 24 h after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) had significantly larger volume of NIH than the first quartile (20.1±25.1 vs. 2.7±6.4 mm, P<0.05). Moreover, NIH in the fourth quartile (20.9±26.4 mm) was higher than the first quartile (3.3±8.6 mm) of the &Dgr; hs-CRP level at 24 h (P<0.05) after the procedure. Although the IL-6 level at the baseline and 72 h after the procedure were positively correlated with NIH (r=0.337, P=0.029 and r=0.435, P=0.004, respectively), the &Dgr; IL-6 level at any stage was not correlated with NIH. Neither the MMP-9 level nor the &Dgr; MMP-9 level at any stage was correlated with NIH. CONCLUSION: This prospective intravascular ultrasound study showed the inflammatory response after PCI, as measured by hs-CRP levels, but not the baseline hs-CRP level, predict NIH after DES implantation. Neither a change in the IL-6 nor MMP-9 levels at any stage after PCI reflected NIH.

The structure of Tris(tetraethylammonium) bistrimetaphosphate, VP_6N_3O_18C_24H_60, has been elucidate with two space groups P1 ̄ and C2/c. In this paper, it has been shown that the crystallographic data of the two space groups are mutually transformed.

As the function Ⅰ(hkl) of the X-ray intensity has a center of symmetry assuming anomalous scattering is negligible, Ⅰ(hkl) shows the symmetry of a centrosymmetric point group, i.e., a Laue group. The symmetry of each Laue group gives rise to its equivalent intensity relation, from which a scheme for identification of Laue group by means of oscillation and Weissenberg zeroth layer photographs has been obtained.

32개 點群은 中心對稱(centrosymmetric)을 갖는 11가지 點群(Laue群)과 21個의 非對稱中心(noncentrosymmetric)點群으로 이루어졌다. 本 硏究에서는 21個 非對稱中心點群 各各의 等價回折面(等價逆格子點)들을 誘導하였다. The thirty two point groups consist of eleven Laue groups (centrosymmetric point groups) and twenty one noncentrosymmteric point groups. In this paper, the reciprocal lattice points equivalent under the operations of 21 noncentrosymmetric point groups are derived.

三斜晶系에는 2個의 空間群이 있고 單斜晶系에는 13個의 空間群이 있다. 本 論解에서는 이 空間群들을 誘導한후 各 空間群에 屬한 一般位置, 原點移動, 特殊座標 및 反射條件들을 說明 하였다. There are two and thirteen space groups in triclinic and monoclinic systems respectively. After derivation of the space groups, the general coordinates, the special coordinates and the reflection conditions of each space group have been discussed and change of origin of certain space groups is also shown.
X-線粉末廻折法에 의한 Cadmiun Sufide 試料의 定量定性分析

The 32 X-ray diffraction intensity peaks for the cadmium sulfide powder (99.999% purity),which is an industrially important semiconductor, were obtained rotating 2θh㎘ Bragg angle of X-ray diffractometer with Cu Kα radiation from 20 to 120 degrees by θ-2θ scan technique. Each reflecting plane identified by means of the graphical and analytical methods indicated that there are two different kinds of phases : hexagonal close-packed structure with a=4.13Å, c=6.75Å and face-centered cubic structure with a=5.82Å. In order to account for the result of two molecules per unit hexagonal cell and four molecules per unit cubic cell, they should have the wurtzite form and zinc blende form respectively. The quantitative analysis by the direct comparison method has shown that this sample contains approximately 86.3 percent wurtzite form and the rest 13.7 percent zinc blende form of CdS. The correct result has been proved by the good agreement between the experimental and theoretical integrated intensities.

Reciprocal lattice explorer는 de Jong-Bouman camera와 Buerger precession camera를 合친것이다. 이 explorer를 使用하면 goniometer에 한번 固定한 試料를 使用하여 그 試料의 空間群을 決定하는데 必要한 모든 寫眞을 撮影할 수 있으며 그들은 찌그러지지 않은 逆格子面의 寫眞들이다. 本 論文에서는 de Jong-Bouman 과 Buerger precession 寫眞術의 原理와 使用法을 記述 하였고 또한 de Jong-Bouman의 振動寫眞과 zeroth layer 寫眞으로부터 11個 Laue群의 識別方法도 提示하였다. The reciprocal lattice explorer is an instrument which incorporates the principles of both the Buerger precession and the de Jong-Bouman methods. On the explorer all photographs which are necessary for a space group determination can be taken with a single setting of a crystal and the photographs show undistorted pictures of the reciprocal lattice planes. In this paper, the principles and the usages of the de Jong-Bouman and the Buerger precession photography are described, and a method of 11 Laue group identification using the de Jong-Bouman oscillation and zeroth layer photographs is shown.

The 20 x-ray diffraction intensity peaks for HgI₂powder were collected rotating 2θhk1 angle of x-ray diffractometer from 10 degrees to 80 degrees, in which copper target had been used. Each reflecting plane has been identified by means of the relation-ship between lattice parameter and interplanar spacing. The crystal is tetragonal, space group P4₂/nmc, with unit cell dimensions a=4. 3211(8)Å, c=12.3108(8)Å and z=2. The structure was solved by powder method and refined by the leastsquares method to R=0.12. The experimental and theoretical integrated intensities of the reflecting planes are in good agreement with each other.
