        Present removal work for road signs has been required many workers and times because it has been worked by a manually controlled shaving equipment. While these manual works are progressing, there are unwillingly traffic jam by passing control, and unexpected accidents to all workers exposed dangerous road circumstance. Besides, in current shaving method, there are high potentialities on air pollution as well as explosive accidents occurred by using propane gas. However there have been little efforts to improve technical impediments and to develop a new method or equipment related to the road sign erasing works in domestic construction industry. The purpose of this study is to investigate the road sign erasing work processes of the existing in detail and to analyze the required performance criteria for the automated equipment development.

        Theory and Practice of Military`s International Humanitarian Aid Operations and Its Implications for the Korean Context

        Since intrastate armed conflicts in the failing states increased mass civilian casualties and displacement in the early 1990s, foreign militaries, mainly from the westernhemisphere, have been emerging as a new policy entrepreneur in the humanitarian aid regime which civilian actors had dominated. Thus, this study aims at elucidating this new social phenomenon in two strands of theoretical approach - political and ethnic driven reasoning, and subsequently analyzing the military`s international humanitarian aid operations in normative and empirical perspectives. It then attempts to investigate the implications for the practices of the Republic of Korea`s (ROK) contingents, deployed to UN Peacekeeping Operations (PKOs) and Multinational Force Peace Operations(MNF POs). The conclusion of the study suggests that rules and guidelines, such as the UN Resolutions 58/114, Oslo Guidelines and MCDA (Military and Civil Defense Assets) Guidelines proclaim the humanitarian principle and the military`s humanitarian action as a last resort, and coordination to regulate proliferation of military`s relief operations. However, the military`s direct and indirect aid deliveries, in reality, have been expanded due to the complexities of the security situation in spite of ethical and effective issues. After all, taking the ROK contingents` humanitarian aid operations into account, theymay encounter three challenges; noncompliance with international rules and guidelines, absence of systematic measurement of operational performance, and lack of acoordination scheme with civilian agencies.

        Implementation of Radiotherapy Educational Contents Using Virtual Reality

        The development of smart devices has brought about significant changes in daily life and one of the most significant changes is the virtual reality zone. Virtual reality is a technology that creates the illusion that a 3D high-resolution image has already been created using a display device just like it does in itself. Unrealized subjects are forced to rely on audiovisual materials, resulting in a decline in the concentration of practices and the quality of classes. It used virtual reality to develop effective teaching materials for radiology students. In order to produce a video clip bridge using virtual reality, a radiology clinic was selected to conduct two exposures from July to September 2017. The video was produced taking into account the radiology and work flow chart and filming was carried out in two separate locations : in the computerized tomography unit and in the LINAC room. Prior to filming the scenario and the filming route were checked in advance to facilitate editing of the video. Modeling and mapping was performed in a PC environment using the Window XP operating system. Using two leading virtual reality camera Gopro Hero, CC pixels were produced using a 4K UHD, Adobe, followed by an 8 megapixel resolution of 3,840 × 2,160 /4,096 × 2,160. Total regeneration time was performed in about 5 minutes during the production of using virtual reality to prevent vomiting and dizziness. Currently developed virtual reality radiation and educational contents are being used to secure the market and extend the promotion process to be used by various institutions. The researchers will investigate the satisfaction level of radiation and educational contents using virtual reality and carry out supplementary tasks depending on the results. 스마트기기기의 발전으로 일상생활에 큰 변화를 가지고 왔으며, 가장 크게 변화된 영역 중 하나가 가상 현실 영역이다. 가상현실이란 디스플레이 장치를 이용해 이미 만들어진 3차원 고해상도 이미지를 마치 자신이 그 속에 존재하는 것과 같은 착각을 일으키는 기술이다. 실습장비가 구축되지 않은 교과목의 경우 시청각 자료에 의존할 수밖에 없어 실습 집중도 및 수업에 대한 질적 저하 발생하고 있는 현실이다. 방사선과 학생들에게 효과적인 교재 개발을 위해 가상 현실을 이용하였다. 가상현실을 이용한 동영상 교보재 제작을 위해 방사선종양학과가 개설된 병원을 선정하여 2017년 7월부터 9월에 촬영을 2회 실시하였다. 방사 선종양학과 업무 흐름도를 고려하여 동영상을 제작하였으며, 전산화단층모의치료실 및 선형가속기실 두 군데에서 촬영을 진행하였다. 동영상 촬영에 앞서 각각에 대한 시나리오 및 촬영 동선을 사전 체크하여 동영상 편집을 용이하게 할 수 있도록 사전 작업을 진행하였다. Window XP 운영체제를 사용하는 PC환경에서 모델링과 맵핑 작업을 실시하였다. 대표적인 가상현실 카메라인 고프로 Hero4 2대를 이용하여 화소는 4K UHD: 약 800만 화소 해상도는 3,840 × 2,160 / 4,096 × 2,160 두 개를 사용하였으며, 동영상 제작 후 편집은 프로그램 어도비프리미어 CC, 에프터이펙트, 포토샵, 일러스트를 사용하였다. 총 재생 시간은 가상현실을 이용한 교보재 제작 시 구토 및 어지러움증이 발생하지 않는 시간 5분 내외로 편집을 진행하였다. 동영상 구성은 도입, 시설 설명, 장비 설명, 교과 설명 및 정리로 진행하였으며, 동영상 촬영 후 편집 기간은 약 2주 정도 소요되었다. 현재 개발된 가상현실 방사선과 교육콘텐츠는 다양한 기관에서 활용할 수 있도록 시장을 확보하고 홍보를 확대하는 작업을 추진하고 있다. 향후 가상현실을 체험한 학습자들을 대상으로 가상현실을 이용한 방사선과 교육 콘텐츠에 대한 만족도 및 학습 효능감에 대해 조사하여 가상현실 기술을 이용한 교보재에 대한 학습 콘텐츠 유용성을 평가하여 효과적인 임상실습 환경을 제공하고자 한다.

        Mechanical Test Methods for Compost Maturity

        Manure-based composts can have detrimental effects on the agricultural lands and crops if they are applied without proper stabilization process. Composting is well-known method for the stabilization of manure-based composts and the extent of composting could be examined by maturity test. Among various methods to examine compost maturity, the performances of two mechanical methods (Solvita and CoMMe-100) were examined and the test results were compared with seed germination test. The mechanical methods are considered to be simple and relatively objective. Also they are cost- and time-efficient. Ten commercially available composts collected in Korea were used for this study. Basically, the maturity determined with these mechanical methods was in good agreement with the seed germination test. However, it appeared that the index levels of compost maturity indicated more maturity by CoMMe-100 than Solvita for the same compost. The differences between maturity index levels determined by both methods were able to be minimized through extending the reaction time for CoMMe-100 and adjusting index level for maturity determination in the standard color chart.

        Understanding Phytosanitary Irradiation Treatment of Pineapple Using Monte Carlo Simulation

        Purpose: Pineapple is now the third most important tropical fruit in world production after banana and citrus. Phytosanitary irradiation is recognized as a promising alternative treatment to chemical fumigation. However, most of the phytosanitary irradiation studies have dealt with physiochemical properties and its efficacy. Accurate dose calculation is crucial for ensuring proper process control in phytosanitary irradiation. The objective of this study was to optimize phytosanitary irradiation treatment of pineapple in various radiation sources using Monte Carlo simulation. Methods: 3-D geometry and component densities of the pineapple, extracted from CT scan data, were entered into a radiation transport Monte Carlo code (MCNP5) to obtain simulated dose distribution. Radiation energy used for simulation were 2 MeV (low-energy) and 10 MeV (high-energy) for electron beams, 1.25 MeV for gamma-rays, and 5 MeV for X-rays. Results: For low-energy electron beam simulation, electrons penetrated up to 0.75cm from the pineapple skin, which is good for controlling insect eggs laid just below the fruit surface. For high-energy electron beam simulation, electrons penetrated up to 4.5cm and the irradiation area occupied 60.2% of the whole area at single-side irradiation and 90.6% at double-side irradiation. For a single-side only gamma- and X-ray source simulation, the entire pineapple was irradiated and dose uniformity ratios (Dmax/Dmin) were 2.23 and 2.19, respectively. Even though both sources had all greater penetrating capability, the X-ray treatment is safer and the gamma-ray treatment is more widely used due to their availability. Conclusions: These results are invaluable for optimizing phytosanitary irradiation treatment planning of pineapple.

        아·태 지역 내 인도적 지원 작전에 대한 민군행위자의 상호지향성 연구: 인도주의 규범 및 피해심각성의 인식을 중심으로

        본 논문은 국제 인도적 지원 작전과 관련, 아-태 지역 내 복합적 위기상황과 인도주의 규범에 대한 민군행위자의 인식차를 측정하기 위해 민간단체 관계자 210명과 장교 및 부사관 220명 대상으로 상호지향성모델을 적용한 조사를 수행하였다. 조사결과, 인도주의 제 규범의 경우, 인도주의 원칙에 있어 민군 자체의 인식차는 통계적으로 유의하지 않았으나 민간자체의 인식(A)과 군에 대한 민간의 인식(C) 간 유의한 차이가 확인됐고 군 자체의 인식(B)과 군에 대한 민간의 인식(C)에서도 차이가 검증되었다. 핵심기준과 보호원칙에서도 양측의 자체인식 간 차이가 발견되지 않은 반면, 주관적 일치도(A-C, B-D)와 정확도(A-D, B-C)에서 모두 통계적으로 유의한 인식차가 확인되었다. 위기상황에 대해 민간은 군보다 자연재난으로 인한 피해 심각성에, 군은 민간보다 국제적 무력충돌에 의한 피해 심각성에 각각 높은 인식도를 보인 것으로 나타났다. 연구결과를 토대로 민군 간 접점의 확대와 인적 교류시스템구축, 파트너십을 위한 정책수립 및 이행체계구축을 통한 민군조정과 협력방안을 제언하였다. Using the coorientation model, this study investigates cognitive gap of civilian humanitarian agencies (210 aid workers) and ROK army (220 officers and NCOs) about humanitarian norms and damages of emergency crisis for humanitarian operations in the Asia-Pacific region. As a result of the survey, a gap of agreement of humanitarian norms - humanitarian principle, core standard and protection are not statistically significant. Secondly, Meaningful differences are verified in both’s perceived agreement between civilians’ self-perception(A) and their presumption of ROK army’s perception (C) and ROK army’s self-perception and their presumption of civilians’ perception (D) in humanitarian principle. Thirdly, not only is gaps of perceived agreement (A-C, B-D) in core standard and protection identified, but accuracy (A-D, B-C) of both actors is substantially found. Fourth, the civilian agencies show higher awareness of the damages caused by natural disasters than the ROK army, whereas ROK army become more sensitized that of international armed conflicts than civilian agencies. Based upon the result of the research, it suggests that the process of civil and military coordination and cooperation be instituted in expansion of interface, human resources exchange system and finally policy and implementation architecture of partnership between both actors.
