Calcium-doped barium titanate, Ba(1−x)CaxTiO3 (where x = 0.02,0.04,0.06 & 0.08)/BCT1,BCT2, BCT3 & BCT4, ferroelectric ceramics were synthesized by a microwave processing technique. For the formation of a single perovskite phase with a dense grain morphology, microwave sintering temperature was optimized at 1100 oC for 1 h. SEM characterization of the microwave sintered BCT samples showed dense and homogeneous packing of sub-micrometer size grains. The BCT2 system showed the highest room temperature (RT) dielectric constant (εr). The dielectric property vs. temperature behavior revealed a diffuse phase transition nature. The occurrence of polarization vs. electric field (P-E) loops confirmed the ferroelectric nature of the microwave sintered BCT samples.
Theory of hypersurfaces of a Finsler space with the generalized square metric

The emergence of generalized square metrics in Finsler geometry can be attributed to various classification concerning $(\alpha,\beta)$-metrics. They have excellent geometric properties in Finsler geometry. Within the scope of this research paper, we have conducted an investigation into the generalized square metric denoted as $F(x,y)=\frac{[\alpha(x,y)+\beta(x,y)]^{n+1}}{[\alpha(x,y)]^n}$, focusing specifically on its application to the Finslerian hypersurface. Furthermore, the classification and existence of first, second, and third kind of hyperplanes of the Finsler manifold has been established.

En 1898, à la question « quel est le facteur décisif dans l’histoire moderne ? » qu’un journaliste a posé à Otto Von Bismarck, ce dernier a répondu : «Le fait que les Nord-Américains parlent anglais.»À l’heure de la mondialisation qui caractérise ce nouveau millénaire, les peuples du monde s’unifient, les cultures cohabitent et les paysages linguistiques mondiaux changent de décors en conséquence. Nous assistons de nos jours à une révolution, une force sociale à l’échelle planétaire qui a tendance à dominer l’évolution de la situation linguistique de chaque pays. Les développements politiques et économiques du vingtième siècle ont été déterminants et leurs effets semblent se propager sur le siècle suivant. Le besoin de communication des peuples stimule le développement de la technologie, du commerce et du tourisme international. Plusieurs auteurs avancent que ces changements entraînent la prolifération de la langue anglaise non seulement dans les domaines internationalisés (les échanges économiques, les sciences, la production des biens culturels), mais aussi de nouveaux domaines comme l’éducation. L’usage de l’anglais a même atteint les entreprises, la publicité et les médias. Pour savoir comment les cadres supérieurs français perçoivent l’anglais dans l’imaginaire, ainsi que pour cerner les attitudes, les motivations et les comportements des Français à l’égard de l’anglais nous avons entrepris ce travail. Cette représentation est essentielle, car elle conditionne la qualité de l’apprentissage, le degré de confiance de l’individu, français en l’occurrence, lors de l’usage de l’anglais. La détermination des divers stéréotypes agissant aussi bien de manière positive que négative sur l’usage de l’anglais dans la vie courante, ainsi que dans le travail, et permettra peut-être de dégager des grandes lignes pour un enseignement plus approprié. Plusieurs courants ont recours à la notion de représentation comme par exemple Giordan & De Vecchi (1987), Lafontaine (1986) et Matthey (1997b). Les recherches portant sur les comportements linguistiques et les attitudes sont souvent menées en milieu scolaire pour l’essentiel, ayant pour but de prédire et d’agir sur les comportements d’apprentissage. Mais notre étude répond à notre désir de sortir du cadre scolaire censé être « le foyer du bilinguisme » pour appréhender des bilingues dans la vie active. Notre étude est basée sur une approche qualitative. L’entretien semi-directif est approprié pour notre projet car il favorise la dimension interactionnelle des échanges. Les discours produits constituent un substrat duquel on a tiré des indices des représentations de la langue anglaise chez les usagers français. Avec un entretien on peut faire un va-et-vient constant entre généralités et vécu personnel afin de relever ce que l’anglais représente pour l’enquêté « personnellement ».

Five benthic species of the genus Gambierdiscus (Dinophyceae) were observed for the first time in the coastal waters of Pakistan, Northern Indian Ocean. The morphology of the epiphytic, ciguatera-related toxic species G. toxicus, G. belizeanus,G. polynesiensis, G. australes and G. cf. yasumotoi are presented here, described by the Kofoid system of thecal plates Po, 3΄, 7˝, 6c, 8s, 5˝΄, 1p, 2˝˝ with differences in cell shape, cell size, plates, pores around the apical pore plate by using light and scanning electron microscopy. The occurrence of these potentially toxic dinoflagellate species in Pakistani coastal areas of Manora Channel and Balochistan during high temperatures of 28-32℃ is cause of concern for human health impacts from ciguatera fish poisoning.
An Enhanced Copy-Move Forgery Detection based on Radon Binary Pattern

Recently blind image forensics which aims to assess the image authenticity has been raised a great awareness in multimedia security. One of the most popular methods among this category is copy-move forgery detection. This paper proposes an enhanced algorithm for detecting such forgeries in digital images. To deploy this approach, firstly, we divide the image into some overlapping blocks and then capture the intensity of the pixels in each block by utilizing the Radon Transform. Secondly to provide the computational efficiency of the Radon domain, we encode the micro-information of image to the Local Binary Pattern as feature vectors. Finally, in matching step, we use the Chi-square histogram-based distance to determine similar or duplicated blocks. The experimental results show that the proposed joint descriptors for extracting features vectors are very effective in accurate detection of copied regions even when these regions have undergone lossy compression. The detection accuracy and performance of our method in comparison to similar works, promising to be efficient even in detection rate.

Due to the globalization of trade, hundreds of millions containers pass every year through world ports. Such a situation is extremely challenging in terms of securing freight transport operations. However, costs and lead-times are still very important components of supply chains" performance models. Therefore, the drive for enhanced safety and security cannot be made at the expense of these other two factors of competitiveness, and the processes implemented by the global supply chain links, including the maritime port one, should tend to a joint optimization of trade facilitation and operational safety / security. The research on which this paper feeds back falls within the frame of this mixed performance requirement. More specifically, the paper presents a decision-support system dedicated to managing the risks associated with land and maritime container transportation; this system is based on the modeling of the knowledge of a group of experts, and covers the three phases of risk identification, assessment and avoidance / mitigation.

Property profile of nanostructured blends of amine functionalized elastomer and epoxy

Pure polystyrene-b-poly(ethylene-ran-butylene)-b-polystyrene (SEBS) was functionalized with amine moietyfirst through nitration, followed by reduction. The resulting amine modified SEBS was blended with various amountsof epoxy via in situ reactive approach. Thin blend films were initially cured at 120 oC for 30min and post cured at180 oC for 2 h. These films were then analyzed for their mechanical, thermal and morphological profile. Optimumimprovement in tensile strength, modulus and toughness was observed with different epoxy loading in the blends. These blends were found thermally stable up to 300 oC. The morphological studies indicated ample compatibilitybetween the two components of blends.
