Association Between Excessive Daytime Sleepiness and Functional Gastrointestinal Disorders: A Population-based Study in China

( Sicheng Wu ),( Shuqi Chen ),( Yanfang Zhao ),( Xiuqiang Ma ),( Rui Wang ),( Jia He ) 대한소화기기능성질환·운동학회(구 대한소화관운동학회) 2017 Journal of Neurogastroenterology and Motility (JNM Vol.23 No.2

Background/Aims Several studies have demonstrated that sleep problems are associated with functional gastrointestinal disorders (FGIDs): irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), functional dyspepsia, etc, but the relationship between excessive daytime sleepiness (EDS) and FGIDs has not been systematically studied in the general population. This study aims to explore the relationship between EDS and specific types of FGIDs and the effect of the number of FGIDs on EDS. Methods A sample of 3600 individuals (aged 18-80 years) was selected from 5 regions in China using a randomized, stratified, multi-stage sampling method. EDS was measured by the Epworth Sleepiness Scale, while gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and other FGIDs were assessed by Reflux Disease Questionnaire and the Rome II diagnostic criteria, respectively. Results The survey was completed by 2906 individuals (response rate: 80.72%), and 644 individuals (22.16%) had EDS. EDS was significantly associated with ulcer-like dyspepsia (OR, 2.50; 95% CI, 1.08-5.79), diarrhea-predominant IBS (OR, 2.00; 95% CI, 1.09-3.66), alternating IBS (OR, 2.32; 95% CI, 1.30-4.13), functional constipation (OR, 1.68; 95% CI, 1.20-2.35), and GERD (OR, 1.72; 95% CI, 1.08-2.72). Risk of EDS increased along with the increasing numbers of FGIDs: with 1 FGID (OR, 1.72; 95% CI, 1.37-2.15); with 2 FGIDs (OR, 2.43; 95% CI, 1.63-3.62); and with 3 or more FGIDs (OR, 3.26; 95% CI, 1.37-7.78). Conclusions FGIDs, such as ulcer-like dyspepsia, diarrhea-predominant IBS, alternating IBS, functional constipation, and GERD, were significantly associated with EDS. Those who suffered from more kinds of FGIDs were more susceptible to EDS. (J Neurogastroenterol Motil 2017;23:298-305)

Sensitive Vector Search for Logic Circuit Failure Probability based on Improved Adaptive Cuckoo Algorithm

        Shuo Cai,Sicheng Wu,Weizheng Wang,Fei Yu,Lairong Yin 대한전자공학회 2022 Journal of semiconductor technology and science Vol.22 No.2

With the development of microelectronics technology, the feature size of integrated circuit continues to shrink, and circuit performance has been improved. At the same time, however, factors such as process disturbance, power noise, and particle radiation are having an increasingly serious influence on the Failure Probability of Circuits (FPC). Searching the input vectors that are sensitive to FPC can assist circuit designers in selectively reinforcing the circuit to reduce the fault-tolerant overhead and improve the fault-tolerant efficiency. In this paper, an Improved Adaptive Cuckoo Search (IACS) algorithm is proposed to search sensitive circuit vectors. The vector segmentation strategy is used to change the dimension of the input vector, the hill climbing algorithm is used to improve the quality of the initial population, and the adaptive strategy is used to control parameters such as power-law index, discovery probability and scaling factor. At the same time, a Correlation Separation Approach (COSEA) is proposed to calculate the FPC under specific vector excitation. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm has higher accuracy and better efficiency compared with existing algorithms.

Influence of Electrical Aging on Space Charge Dynamics of Oil-Impregnated Paper Insulation under AC-DC Combined Voltages

Wang, Yan,Li, Jian,Wu, Sicheng,Sun, Peng The Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers 2013 Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology Vol.8 No.6

Oil-impregnated paper is a major type of insulation used in oil-filled converter transformers for both traditional and new energy systems. This paper presents and analyzes the results of the experiment conducted on the electrical aging of oil-impregnated paper under AC-DC combined voltages using the pulsed electro-acoustic (PEA) technique. The formation and dynamics of space charge affected the performance of insulation material. The electrical aged oil-paper insulation was obtained through electrical aged experiments under the voltages. Based on the PEA technique, measurements were carried out when the oil-paper insulation system was subjected to different stressing and aging times. The space charge dynamics in the bulk of the oil-paper insulation system with different aging times were measured and analyzed. Characteristic parameters such as the total charge injection amount, the total charges of fast moving and slow moving, and the distortion factor of electric field were calculated and discussed. Results show that the longer electrical aging time, the more charges trapped in the bulk of aging sample. It leads to larger distortion factor of electric field in the bulk of aging samples and accelerate degradation of oil-paper insulation under AC-DC combined voltages.
