On Fan Zhongyan’s Spirit of Undertaking Responsibilities
The Song dynasty 宋(960-1279) had numerous talented scholars and Fan Zhongyan 范仲淹(989-1052) was one of the most gifted. Academically, Fan was a forerunner of Song studies. Politically, he was a pioneer in his advocacy of political innovation. Mentally, he was the first scholar who regained the importance of the spirit of undertaking responsibilities. The formation of this spirit was influenced by many factors, including his early experience, the spirit of Suiyang Academy (Suiyang shuyuan 睢陽書院), Confucian spirit, ancient sages, some famous ministers like Tian Xi 田錫(940-1004) and Wang Yucheng 王禹稱(954-1001) in the early Song Dynasty, and the changes of the time. Fan combined the spirit of undertaking responsibilities with personal praxis, presiding over political reform, repairing the seawall, leading Lake Tai 太湖into the sea, founding a county school, and recommending Hu Yuan 胡瑗(993-1059) and other famous scholars to become teachers of the Imperial College. His thought also greatly influenced many subsequent scholars in the Song dynasty and after, including Fu Bi 富弼(1004-1083), Liu Mu 劉牧(1011-1064), Hu Yuan 胡瑗(993-1059), Zhang Zai 張載(1020-1077) and Wang Anshi 王安石(1021-1086). Control of 3-DOF Robotic Manipulator by Neural Network Based Fuzzy-PD
Shikai Zhang,Yudong Zhao,이장명 한국정밀공학회 2019 International Journal of Precision Engineering and Vol.20 No.12
A new control scheme of Back-Propagation Neural Network Based Fuzzy-PD has been proposed for control of a 3-DOF robotic manipulator in this paper. Combined with Back-Propagation Neural Network (BPNN), the performance of traditional Fuzzy-PD has been optimized by online calibration of the overlapping ratio of membership function. The overlapping ratio is firstly defined as the value of the intersection point between two adjacent membership functions. And then BPNN is utilized to optimize the overlapping ratio online. Simulations and real experiments with a 3-DOF robotic manipulator have been carried out to demonstrate the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed scheme.

In this paper, a novel modulation method is proposed for the torque ripple suppression of a brushless DC motor (BLDCM) during both the commutation period and the speed regulation period. The main sources of torque ripple are the imbalance current during commutation and the PWM during speed regulation. A single-inductor multiple-output (SIMO) Buck DC-DC converter is adopted to generate input voltage for the inverter driver of a BLDCM. During the commutation period, the input voltage of an inverter can be adjusted to four times the back electromotive force (EMF), which suppresses the torque ripple caused by imbalance commutation current. Meanwhile, by changing the output voltage of a SIMO DC-DC, the speed of a BLDCM can be regulated without PWM on the inverter switches, which also suppresses the torque ripple. A control algorithm is applied on a Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA), and the proposed BLDCM drive prototype is fabricated and tested. Measurement results show that with the proposed speed regulation strategy, the torque ripple is suppressed from 33.3% to 20.1%, and that with the proposed suppression strategy in commutation, the torque ripple is suppressed further to 5.3%.

Objective: Idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) is a condition of unknown etiology associated with venous sinus stenosis. This study aimed to develop a magnetic resonance venography (MRV)-based radiomics model for predicting a high trans-stenotic pressure gradient (TPG) in IIH patients diagnosed with venous sinus stenosis. Materials and Methods: This retrospective study included 105 IIH patients (median age [interquartile range], 35 years [27– 42 years]; female:male, 82:23) who underwent MRV and catheter venography complemented by venous manometry. Contrast enhanced-MRV was conducted under 1.5 Tesla system, and the images were reconstructed using a standard algorithm. Shape features were derived from MRV images via the PyRadiomics package and selected by utilizing the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) method. A radiomics score for predicting high TPG (≥ 8 mmHg) in IIH patients was formulated using multivariable logistic regression; its discrimination performance was assessed using the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUROC). A nomogram was constructed by incorporating the radiomics scores and clinical features. Results: Data from 105 patients were randomly divided into two distinct datasets for model training (n = 73; 50 and 23 with and without high TPG, respectively) and testing (n = 32; 22 and 10 with and without high TPG, respectively). Three informative shape features were identified in the training datasets: least axis length, sphericity, and maximum three-dimensional diameter. The radiomics score for predicting high TPG in IIH patients demonstrated an AUROC of 0.906 (95% confidence interval, 0.836– 0.976) in the training dataset and 0.877 (95% confidence interval, 0.755–0.999) in the test dataset. The nomogram showed good calibration. Conclusion: Our study presents the feasibility of a novel model for predicting high TPG in IIH patients using radiomics analysis of noninvasive MRV-based shape features. This information may aid clinicians in identifying patients who may benefit from stenting.
