<P>The integration of contrast-enhanced diagnostic imaging and therapy could utilize image guided therapy to plan treatment strategy. Toward this goal, a unique construction and operation of a pseudo metal based photothermal therapeutic agent (PPAM) is introduced by polyaniline (PANI) generation templated on iron oxide metal nanoclusters (MNCs). Notably, MNC core interferes as a catalytic agent and enables aniline polymerization under ambient acidic conditions. The intrusion of transition metal enhanced the proton sensitivity of PANI, which led to pH responsive conversion even at dilute proton concentrations (pH 5, 6) compared to the PANI particles prepared by conventional methods. Under physiological pH, PPAM reveals no special features; however, under low pH conditions, which is a notable characteristic of the cancer microenvironment, PPAM automatically converts into its emeraldine salt (ES) state and thus activates as a photothermal therapeutic agent. Utilizing this specific redox responsive switched off-on behavior of PPAM, precise and systemized photothermal therapy is demonstrated, proving itself as a smart and efficient photothermal therapeutic agent.</P>

Objectives: This study aimed to examine the correlations between the regional characteristics of counties in Gangwon Province, Republic of Korea and the ratio of intracounty to extracounty sources of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infection.Methods: The region of the infectious contact was analysed for each COVID-19 case reported in Gangwon Province between February 22, 2020 and February 7, 2022. The population, population density, area, the proportion of urban residents, the proportion of older adults (>65 years), financial independence, and the number of adjacent counties were assessed for each of the 18 counties in Gangwon Province. Correlation coefficients between regional characteristics and the ratio of intracounty to extracounty infections were calculated.Results: In total, 19,645 cases were included in this study. The population, population density, proportion of older adults, and proportion of urban residents were significantly correlated with the ratio of intracounty to extracounty infections. A stratified analysis with an age cut-point of 65 years showed that the proportion of older adults had a significant negative correlation with the ratio of intracounty to extracounty infections. In other words, the proportions of extracounty infections were higher in countries with higher proportions of older adults.Conclusion: Regions with ageing populations should carefully observe trends in infectious disease outbreaks in other regions to prevent possible transmission.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Tungsten disulfide (WS<SUB>2</SUB>) thin films are grown on several types of substrates by plasma-enhanced atomic layer deposition (PEALD) technique using tungsten hexacarbonyl [W(CO)<SUB>6</SUB>] and H<SUB>2</SUB>S plasma at a relatively low temperature of 350 °C. The method delivers polycrystalline WS<SUB>2</SUB> film with (0 0 2) preferential growth and the high quality films could be successfully grown with as low as 30 ALD cycles (corresponding to ∼3 nm of thickness). Density functional theory (DFT) calculation results reveal that both adsorption of W(CO)<SUB>6</SUB> and removal of CO ligand would be facilitated by usage of H<SUB>2</SUB>S plasma by generating the different defect sites on the basal plane. The typical self-limiting film growth (growth rate of ∼0.1 nm/cycle), characteristic of ideal ALD, is clearly observed with both the precursor and reactant pulsing time. X-ray diffractometry (XRD), Raman spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and Rutherford backscattering spectrometry (RBS) are performed in details to study the as-grown WS<SUB>2</SUB> film on Si/SiO<SUB>2</SUB> substrate. The analysis results confirm the formation of polycrystalline film, with high purity and well-defined stoichiometry. The as-deposited WS<SUB>2</SUB> films are then explored as an electrode in the field of energy generation as well as energy storage. The films are uniformly and conformally grown on high surface-area 3 dimensional Ni-foam that show excellent activity towards hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). Significantly low overpotential of ∼280 mV is observed at a high operational current density of 100 mA cm<SUP>−2</SUP> during HER in acid electrolyte. In addition, the as-grown films on stainless steel substrate also reveal the stable electrochemical performances in Na-ion battery as an anode with reasonably high areal capacity of ∼44.5 μAh cm<SUP>−2</SUP> at the end of 50 charge-discharge cycles.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> PEALD grown polycrystalline WS<SUB>2</SUB> using W(CO)<SUB>6</SUB> precursor and H<SUB>2</SUB>S plasma as a reactant. </LI> <LI> H<SUB>2</SUB>S plasma to facilitate ALD reaction elucidated from DFT calculation. </LI> <LI> Excellent uniformity and conformality of PEALD-WS<SUB>2</SUB> on 3 dimensional Ni-foam. </LI> <LI> Applications as a binder and carbon-free anode in SIBs and catalyst for HER. </LI> </UL> </P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>

<P>Shank2 is a multidomain scaffolding protein implicated in the structural and functional coordination of multiprotein complexes at excitatory postsynaptic sites as well as in psychiatric disorders, including autism spectrum disorders. While Shank2 is strongly expressed in the cerebellum, whether Shank2 regulates cerebellar excitatory synapses, or contributes to the behavioral abnormalities observed in Shank2(-/-) mice, remains unexplored. Here we show that Shank2(-/-) mice show reduced excitatory synapse density in cerebellar Purkinje cells in association with reduced levels of excitatory postsynaptic proteins, including GluD2 and PSD-93, and impaired motor coordination in the Erasmus test. Shank2 deletion restricted to Purkinje cells (Pcp2-Cre; Shank2(fl/fl) mice) leads to similar reductions in excitatory synapse density, synaptic protein levels, and motor coordination. Pcp2-Cre; Shank2(fl/fl) mice do not recapitulate autistic-like behaviors observed in Shank2(-/-) mice, such as social interaction deficits, altered ultrasonic vocalizations, repetitive behaviors, and hyperactivity. However, Pcp2-Cre; Shank2(fl/fl) mice display enhanced repetitive behavior in the hole-board test and anxiety-like behavior in the light-dark test, which are not observed in Shan2(-/-) mice. These results implicate Shank2 in the regulation of cerebellar excitatory synapse density, motor coordination, and specific repetitive and anxiety-like behaviors.</P>

<P>In this study, we developed reduced graphene oxide (rGO)-incorporated porous agarose (Ar-rGO) composites that were prepared via a “one-pot” sol-gel method involving a mixing and vacuum freeze-drying process. These composites represent an easy-to-use adsorbent for organic contaminant removal. Ar-rGOs can efficiently adsorb organic molecules, especially aromatic organic compounds from wastewater, because of the synergistic effect between the agarose bundles, which function as a water absorption site, and the rGO sheets, which function as active sites for pollutant binding. The pore structures and morphology of the Ar-rGO composites varied according to the added rGO, resulting in effective water infiltration into the composites. The main adsorption mechanism of the aromatic organic compounds onto Ar-rGOs involved π-π interactions with the rGO sheets. The surface interaction was more effective for adsorbing/desorbing the aromatic pollutants than the electrostatic interaction via the O-containing functional groups. In addition, we confirmed that Ar-rGO is highly stable over the entire pH range (1-13) because of the presence of the rGO sheets.</P> [FIG OMISSION]</BR>
안구운동 민감소실 재처리 기법(EMDR)의 양측성 안구운동이 운동선수의 경쟁상태불안에 미치는 영향: fNIRS 연구

목적: 본 연구는 안구운동 민감소실 재처리 기법(EMDR)이 운동선수의 경쟁상태불안에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위해 fNIRS를 활용해 전전두엽 피질의 활성화 차이를 비교해 효과를 검증하는 것이다. 방법: 이 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해 불안요소면담, 경쟁상태불안검사지(CSAI-2), 스포츠심상능력질문지(SIAQ)를 활용하여 대학부 운동 선수 9명을 선정하였으며, 실험을 위해 OBELAB fNIRS장비와 Matlab 소프트웨어를 사용하여 분석하였다. 연구는 시간 순서대로 전전두엽의 활성화를 측정하였으며, 기저선, 사전심상, 양측성안구운동프로그램, 사후심상 순으로 진행하였다. 결과: 첫째, 경쟁불안을 유발하기 위해 심상을 활용한 결과, 전반적인 전전두엽의 활성화가 낮아 졌다. 둘째, 양측성 안구운동 프로그램 적용 결과, 사전심상과 사후심상에서 우측 전전두엽의 활성이 낮아졌다. 셋째, 양측성 안구운동 회기별 측정 결과, 양측성 안구운동 중 우측 전전두엽이 활성화되었다. 결론: EMDR이 운동선수의 경쟁불안과 관련된 기억으로 인한 부정적인 정서상태를 긍정적으로 빠르게 재처리 할 수 있다는 것을 보여준다. 본 연구는 스포츠라는 특수한 상황에서 발생하는 예기치 못한 경쟁불안을 빠르게 조절하는 데에 EMDR을 적용할 수 있는 가능성을 제시한다. Purpose: The purpose of the study is that the difference of the activation of the prefrontal cortex is made clear in order to know the ability for EMDR to influence the anxiety control. Methods: In order to achieve the purpose of this research, the eight undergraduate athletes were chosen, using discussion of anxiety, CSAI-2, SIAQ. And OBELAB fNIRS, a kind of instrument, and Matlab software were used for the experiment. The activation of the prefrontal cortex was measured in chronological order, and base line, pre-imagery, bilaterality eye movement program, post-imagery were progressed one after another. Result: First, the result of using imagery to cause anxiety was that the overall activation of the prefrontal cortex is decreased. Second, adjusting the bilaterality eye movement program cause the activation of the right prefrontal cortex to be decreased in pre-imagery and post-imagery. Finally, when each time of the bilaterality eye movement is measured, we can identify the result that the right prefrontal cortex is activated. Conclusion: This result shows that EDMR can quickly reprocess into the positive metal status the negative one caused by the negative memory about anxiety. This study shows the possibility that EDMR can be used when adjusting the unexpected anxiety which happens during the specific situation, sports.
