Computing the Average Symbol Error Probability of the MPSK System Having Quadrature Error

When quadrature error exists, the shape of the M-ary phase shift keying (MPSK) signal constellation becomes skewed-elliptic. Each MPSK symbol takes on a different symbol error probability (SEP) value. The analytical results presented thus far have been derived from studies which examined the SEP problem assuming that the SEP of each MPSK symbol is equally likely; therefore, those results should not be treated as offering a complete solution. In this letter, we present a new and more complete solution to the SEP problem of MPSK by relaxing the above assumption and finding the expressions for the average as well as individual SEP in the presence of quadrature error.
A Generic Craig Form for the Two-Dimensional Gaussian Q-Function

In this letter we present a generic Craig form for the two-dimensional (2-D) Gaussian Q-function. The presented Craig form provides an alternative solution to the problems of computing probabilities involving a form of the 2-D Gaussian Q-function.

This letter presents a joint approach to the symbol-error probability (SEP) of coherent M-ary phase-shift keying in a situation where the phase error, quadrature error, and in-phase-quadrature (I-Q) gain mismatch problems take place all concurrently over an additive white Gaussian noise and arbitrary fading channel. A set of equations that characterizes the conditional SEP on an instantaneous fading signal-to-noise ratio is derived in the form of the Craig representation.
On the Distribution Functions of Ratios Involving Gaussian Random Variables

In this letter, we derive the distribution functions of five ratios involving two correlated Gaussian random variables by using the rotation of Cartesian coordinates. The results can be used in evaluating the various probability performances of wireless communications systems.
Approximation for the Two-Dimensional Gaussian Q-Function and Its Applications

In this letter, we present a new approximation for the two-dimensional (2-D) Gaussian Q-function. The result is represented by only the one-dimensional (1-D) Gaussian Q-function. Unlike the previous 1-D Gaussian-type approximation, the presented approximation can be applied to compute the 2-D Gaussian Q-function with large correlations.

국내 지상파 방송 3사는 세계최초로 2017년에 지상파 UHD 본방송 서비스를 시작하였다. 지상파 UHD 방송은 ATSC 3.0 표준 기반으로 단일주파수로 방송망을 구축할 수 있으므로, 각 송신소별 커버리지 중첩지역에서 방송망을 효율적으로 설계하는 것이 필요하다. 또한, ATSC 3.0 송신 장비를 실 방송환경에서 운용하기 위해서는 H/S와 같은 안정적인 형태로 장비가 구축되어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 2017년 수도권 UHDTV 본방송이 진행된 이후, KBS에 구축한 수도권 UHD-TVR 구축 과정과 수도권 UHDTV 방송망 분석을 위한 필드테스트 결과에 대해 살펴보고자 한다.
