<P>SnO<SUB>2</SUB> nanoparticle coated single wall nanotube (SWNT) network sensors were fabricated by forming a SWNT network on the Pt patterned SiO<SUB>2</SUB><I>/</I>Si substrate using a dip coating method and subsequently depositing SnO<SUB>2</SUB> nanoparticles on the SWNT network by rf magnetron sputtering. Their H<SUB>2</SUB> gas sensing properties were investigated. The SnO<SUB>2</SUB>–SWNT network sensors stably and reversibly responded to H<SUB>2</SUB> gas even at room temperature and could detect H<SUB>2</SUB> gas down to 100 ppm. In addition to the low temperature detection, a remarkable finding was that the gas sensing behavior of SnO<SUB>2</SUB>–SWNT network sensors was changed from p-type to n-type with increasing SnO<SUB>2</SUB> deposition time (i.e. surface coverage of SnO<SUB>2</SUB> on SWNT). A schematic model was proposed to explain the switching of sensing behavior depending on the surface coverage of SnO<SUB>2</SUB> nanoparticles on the SWNTs. </P>
Real-time Detection of Specific Events: A Case Study of Detecting Falls

Detecting people who have fallen is a crucial problem since they may have severe injuries. In this study, we combined existing datasets to create a new dataset for generalized fall detection performance in a wild environment with diverse domains. Furthermore, we propose simple yet powerful rule-based methods for fall detection and real-time operation: the bounding box ratio and bounding box overlap. Our method was evaluated with YOLOv5 as a backbone network and achieved performance improvements by 0.126 in precision, 0.08 in recall, 0.156 in 50 mAP , and 0.11 in 95 mAP compared to our baseline, the VFP290K dataset [7]. In addition, compared to the baseline, the performance of our method improved by 0.349 in precision and 0.104 in the F1 score.
MSE Duality for Multi-User MIMO Relay System

<P>This paper shows how uplink (UL)-downlink (DL) mean square error (MSE) duality holds in a single relay aided multi-user multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO) system. Specifically, it is shown that the MSE duality holds for three levels of MSE which are sum-MSE (SMSE), per user MSE, and per stream MSE. For each case of duality level, we consider both total power constraint and separate power constraint. We also provide a conversion method which transforms a given transceiver and scale factor in DL to equivalent ones in UL for each case of duality level and each case of power constraint.</P>
On the Performance of the Two-Cell Cooperative Single User (CSU) MIMO System with Hybrid Feedback

<P>Achievable rates of two different transmission schemes of the two-cell cooperative single user (CSU) multi-input multi-output (MIMO) system with hybrid feedback is studied, in which one cell has the channel state information (CSI) from a mobile station (MS) and the other has channel covariance information (CCI) from it. Disjoint encoding over two base stations (BSs) is shown to achieve the capacity of the CSU-MIMO with hybrid feedback. Rather than finding an optimal transmission scheme, a suboptimal one is proposed such that the transmit directions of the BSs with CSI and CCI are eigen directions of the instantaneous channel correlation matrix and transmit covariance matrix respectively. The optimum power allocation for these transmit directions is derived as an iterative power allocation (IPA) similar to that of the MIMO multiple access channel (MAC) with CCI only. We also propose a simple disjoint power allocation (DPA). The simulation results show that the proposed transmit directions and IPA for the CSU-MIMO with hybrid feedback outperforms the MIMO-MAC with CCI only, while the DPA achieves almost the same performance as the IPA, only when the SNR is low.</P>
Minimum MSE Design for Multiuser MIMO Relay

<P>We study a joint optimal design of transceiver and relaying architecture in terms of mean square error (MSE) performance for multi-user multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) relaying system. We show a duality relationship in the design of MSE-optimal transceiver and relaying architecture. Based on that, we devise an alternating algorithm, which converges and provides a suboptimal joint design of transceiver and relaying. By simulation, we show that the proposed joint design improves on the average MSE performance of the existing transceiver and relaying architectures.</P>

<P>Cadaverine (CV), a death-associated odor, is an important target molecule for various sensor applications, including the evaluation of food spoilage. In this study, we developed an oriented nanodisc (ND)-functionalized bioelectronic nose (ONBN), based on carbon nanotube transistors and nanodiscs embedded with an olfactory receptor produced in <I>Escherichia coli</I> (<I>E. coli</I>) for detection of CV. To fabricate ONBN devices, a trace-amine-associated receptor 13c (TAAR13c) binding to CV was produced in <I>E. coli</I>, purified, reconstituted into NDs, and assembled, in the desired orientation, onto a carbon- nanotube-based field-effect transistor with floating electrodes. The ONBN showed high performance in terms of sensitivity and selectivity. Moreover, the ONBN was used to measure CV in diverse real-food samples for the determination of food freshness. These results indicate ONBN devices can be utilized to evaluate the quality of food samples quantitatively, which should enable versatile practical applications such as food safety and preservative development. This paper introduces an AI-driven approach to bolster the reliability of automatic solder joint failure detection for PCB Assembly development. Our method employs a 2-stage framework integrating localization and classification. To address domain specific challenges, we propose a post-training correction method based on a fixed solder joint arrangement. Our work is validated on unseen data acquired in a field.
