A Design of a Impedance Tuner With Programmable Characteristic for RF Amplifiers

<P>This letter presents the quantitative analysis of a novel reflection type electronic impedance tuner. The proposed impedance tuner consists of a 3-dB 90 degrees coupler, variable phase shifter, and attenuator. A 180 degrees variable phase shifter with constant insertion loss and wide variation range low phase shifting attenuator was used to independently control the magnitude and phase of the proposed impedance tuner. Due to independent controls of phase and magnitude, the proposed impedance tuner has a programmable characteristic. The fabricated impedance tuner shows a uniform impedance distribution in polar form with magnitude deviation of less than average 0.24 dB for standing wave ratio <= 8 at 2.14 GHz.</P>

<P>We propose a semiconductor–insulator–semiconductor (SIS) heterojunction diode consisting of monolayer (1-L) MoS<SUB>2</SUB>, hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN), and epitaxial p-GaN that can be applied to high-performance nanoscale optoelectronics. The layered materials of 1-L MoS<SUB>2</SUB> and h-BN, grown by chemical vapor deposition, were vertically stacked by a wet-transfer method on a p-GaN layer. The final structure was verified by confocal photoluminescence and Raman spectroscopy. Current–voltage (<I>I</I>–<I>V</I>) measurements were conducted to compare the device performance with that of a more classical p–n structure. In both structures (the p–n and SIS heterojunction diode), clear current-rectifying characteristics were observed. In particular, a current and threshold voltage were obtained for the SIS structure that was higher compared to that of the p–n structure. This indicated that tunneling is the predominant carrier transport mechanism. This article presents the design, control, and implementation of a small quad-rotor system under the practical limitation of being cost effective for private use, such as in the cases of control education or hobbies involving radio-controlled systems. Several practical problems associated with implementing a small quad-rotor system had to be taken into account to satisfy this cost constraint. First, the size was reduced to attain better maneuverability. Second, the main control hardware was limited to an 8-bit processor such as an AVR to reduce cost. Third, the algorithms related to the control and sensing tasks were optimized to be within the computational capabilities of the available processor within one sampling time. A small quad-rotor system was ultimately implemented after satisfying all of the above practical limitations. Experimental studies were conducted to confirm the control performance and the operational abilities of the system.

<P>We present a novel metal-insulator-semiconductor (MIS) diode consisting of graphene, hexagonal BN, and monolayer MoS2 for application in ultrathin nano electronics. The MIS heterojunction structure was fabricated by vertically stacking layered materials using a simple wet chemical transfer method. The stacking of each layer was confirmed by confocal scanning Raman spectroscopy and device performance was evaluated using current versus voltage (I-V) and photocurrent measurements. We clearly observed better current rectification and much higher current flow in the MIS diode than in the p-n junction and the metal-semiconductor diodes made of layered materials. The I-V characteristic curve of the MIS diode indicates that current flows mainly across interfaces as a result of carrier tunneling. Moreover, we observed considerably high photocurrent from the MIS diode under visible light illumination.</P>

본 논문은 기능 안전에 대한 관심이 고조되고 있는 전력 전자 응용 분야에서 소프트웨어 FMEA 로 안전성 분석을 수행한 사례 연구를 설명한다. 우선,기존 연구들이 제안한 소프트웨어 FMEA 의 방법론을 고찰하여 전력 전자 응용에 적합하게 다시 모델링을 한다. 전력 전자 소프트웨어의 안전 필수 컴포넌트를 선정하여 소프트웨어 FMEA 를 수행하고,본 연구에서 사용한 워크시트를 소개한다. 마지막으로 소프트웨어 FMEA 를 전체 소프트웨어로 확대 적용하기 위한 방법을 고찰 한다.

In this paper, a simple design of a DOB (Disturbance Observer) for attitude control of a quad-rotor system is presented. A modified DOB structure from the conventional DOB is introduced to eliminate time-delay in the calculation. The proposed simple modification in the DOB configuration provides an efficiency in the calculation of the disturbance term such that the delayed calculation is not required. The performance of the modified DOB is evaluated through simulation studies. To confirm the simulation results, experimental studies of the attitude control of a quad-rotor system are conducted.
