Towards Scalable and Cost-efficient Software-Defined 5G Core Network

Network and network functions virtualization (NFV) promise a number of attractive benefits and thus have driven mobile network operators to transform their previously static networks to more dynamic and software-defined networks. In this article, we share a mobile network operator's view based on implementation and deployment experiences in the wild during the past few years towards a software-defined 5G core network. More specifically, we present a practical point of view from mobile network operators and elaborate on why some of the virtualization benefits such as total cost of ownership (TCO) reduction are not easily realized as initially intended. Then, we describe 5G visions, services, and their requirements commonly agreed across mobile operators globally. Given the requirements, we then introduce desirable characteristics of 5G mobile core network and its key enabling technologies.

This paper presents a comparison of communication performance between the reconfigurable beam-steering antenna and the omni-directional (loop) antenna during standstill and walking motion. Both omni-directional and reconfigurable antennas were manufactured on the same fabric (?? ?狼哲慄? 炚뽄???司哲司? substrate and operated around 5 GHz band. The reconfigurable antenna was designed to steer the beam directions. To implement the beam-steering capability, the antenna used two PIN diodes. The measured peak gains were 5.9?6.6 dBi and the overall half power beam width (HPBW) was 102°. In order to compare the communication efficiency, both the bit error rate (BER) and the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) were measured using a GNU Radio Companion software tool and user software radio peripheral (USRP) devices. The measurement were performed when both antennas were standstill and walking motion in an antenna chamber as well as in a smart home environment. From these results, the performances of the reconfigurable beam steering antenna outperformed that of the loop antenna. In addition, in terms of communication efficiencies, in an antenna chamber was better than in a smart home environment. In terms of movement of antennas, standstill state has better results than walking motion state.

자동색인(Automatic Indexing)의 색인어 추출 방법으로는 어휘 사전을 이용한 방법과 조사의 배열순위 정보를 이용한 방법이 주로 사용된다. 전자의 경우 어휘 사전의 구축과 신조어와 같은 미등록어의 처리에 어려움이 있으며, 후자의 경우는 불용어 사전의 구축이라는 불편함이 있다. 본 논문에서는 전자의 미등록어 처리에도 적용 가능하도록, 조사의 배열순위 정보를 확장하여 전 품사에 대한 배열순위 정보를 구성, 어휘 사전이 없을 경우에도 형태소 분석을 수행하여 명사를 자동으로 추출하도록 하는 방안을 제시한다.
