A Novel Olfactory Displays' Scent Dispersing Module
Saad Hameed Abid,Zhiyong Li,Renfa Li,Jumana Waleed 보안공학연구지원센터 2015 International Journal of Hybrid Information Techno Vol.8 No.1
Olfactory display devices have become a recent demand and trend in human computer interaction, providing a new member in the human computer interaction peripheral devices family. These devices enrich the olfactory sense for the user stimulating him/her by means of scent stimuli in correspondence to an object or an event shown on the visual display. Some researches have been done to cover the design, usage and delivery for the scent to the users, other works covered some analysis on the scent categorization and grouping. In this paper a focus is on the controlled atomization of a liquid based scent material while guaranteeing: speed, intensity, durability, compactness and scalability, these important factors are crucial to build a commercial grade olfactory displays containing a universal, interchangeable and versatile but yet durable scent disparity component to facilitate the realization of olfactory display devices.
Heat based Odors Delivery Apparatus for Interactive Game Playing
Saad Hameed Abid,Zhiyong Li,Renfa Li,Jumana Waleed 보안공학연구지원센터 2015 International Journal of Multimedia and Ubiquitous Vol.10 No.5
Scent delivery systems or what are known as olfactory displays has been the most recent trend in human computer interaction, control and automation, virtual reality, augmented reality, e-commerce and many other fields in the computer world. These devices have the ability to generate smell combinations for some digital items in the computer virtual world. The idea is to deliver additional perception (olfactory perception) to the user to enrich his/her indulgence while interacting with the computer. The proposed olfactory display is similar to this concept but greatly differ in many aspects, using laser based atomization method to produce enough sudden heat to generate odors that cannot be generated using chemical materials these odors are smoke, gun powder, wood milling, cigarettes smoking, plastic melting and Incense. All olfactory displays researchers avoid involving these types of odors in their studies due to the difficulty of the generation and control of such odors and the absence of their correct and precise generation using chemical materials. The proposed system will provide a way of generating such odors while interactive game is being played by a user with minimum impact on the environment to avoid adaption to the user's olfactory system and polluting the environment that the user occupies.

Jumana Waleed,Huang Dong Jun,Saad Hameed,May Kamil 보안공학연구지원센터(IJSIP) 2015 International Journal of Signal Processing, Image Vol.8 No.1
One of the powerful optimization tools that has been exploited in the computer world are nature inspired algorithms (NIAs), they are also used to solve problems in the computer programming world. For many years new algorithms have been developed regarding computer science and engineering communities such algorithms concentrates on NIAs which has proven their capabilities in many aspect, in some situation rapid solutions are needed to solve some problems these algorithms provides a versatile robust solutions for many of these situations. This paper presents a watermark inclusion based on a recently presented nature inspired algorithm to enhance the digital image watermarking procedure to be used for copyright protection. The nature inspired algorithm in focus is used to perfectly identify optimal positions in the discrete wavelet transform domain (DWT) for watermark inclusion in the gray scale image, The obtained results are shown in the experimental results section clarifying the superiority of using the algorithm in focus for the watermarking technique, In addition, showing how the algorithm optimum positions are obtained with lowest effect to the PSNR value of the produced watermark included images.
Behaviour of high strength concrete-filled short steel tubes under sustained loading
Saad Younas,Dongxu Li,Ehab Hamed,Brian Uy 국제구조공학회 2021 Steel and Composite Structures, An International J Vol.39 No.2
Concrete filled steel tubes (CFSTs) are extensively used in a variety of structures due to their structural and economic advantages over other types of structures. Considerable research has been conducted with regards to their short-term behaviour, and very limited studies have focused on their long-term behaviour. In this study, a series of tests were carried out on high strength squat (short) CFSTs and concrete cylinders under controlled conditions of temperature and humidity to better understand their time dependent behaviour. A number of parameters were investigated including the influence of steel and concrete bond, confinement, level of sustained load and sizes of specimens. The results revealed that creep strains increased by more than 40% if there was no bonding between steel tube and concrete core. As expected, creep and shrinkage of concrete inside a steel tube were significantly less than those developed in exposed concrete. At the end of a creep period of six months, all the specimens were tested to failure to observe the influence of sustained loads on the ultimate strength. It was found that creep does not have a major effect on the strength of short CFSTs in the specific experimental study conducted here, which was less than 2.5%.

This paper aims to indicate the role of alloying composition on the nanomechanical properties of metallic glasses (MGs). Forthis purpose, the molecular dynamics simulation of nanoindentation process was performed for a wide range of Cu–Zr glassycompositions. The results indicated that the yielding event enhanced with the rise of Cu content; however, there existed anoptimized composition for the maximum hardening effect in the system. The investigation on the evolution of shear bandsalso showed that the formation of pile-ups around the indentation site and the propagation of dominant shear bands into theglassy structure occurred in the Cu-rich MGs. On the other side, the increase in Zr content led to the creation of a net-likeshear arrangement under the indented site. Moreover, the Voronoi tessellation analysis indicated that the decreasing/increasingrate of polyhedron types during the indenting process strongly relied on the alloying compositions.
An Immune Secret QR-Code Sharing based on a Twofold Zero-Watermarking Scheme
Jumana Waleed,Huang Dong Jun,Sarah Saadoon,Saad Hameed,Hiyam Hatem 보안공학연구지원센터 2015 International Journal of Multimedia and Ubiquitous Vol.10 No.4
A robust twofold zero-watermarking scheme for secret QR-Code (Quick Response Code) sharing is proposed in order to increase the security of commercial activities on the internet and media. In this paper we will present a twofold scheme for zero-watermarking to be used for copyright protection, implemented in discrete wavelet transform (DWT) as the first fold and discrete cosine transform (DCT) as a second fold for color images in which the visual secret sharing is used to generate unexpanded master and secret shares for the same QR-Code watermark. The experimental results indicate that the proposed scheme is highly robust and the QR-Code can be decodable even after different types of attack being applied.
A Survey of Digital Image Watermarking Optimization based on Nature Inspired Algorithms NIAs
Jumana Waleed,Huang Dong Jun,Thekra Abbas,Saad Hameed,Hiyam Hatem 보안공학연구지원센터 2014 International Journal of Security and Its Applicat Vol.8 No.6
Nature-inspired algorithms (NIAs) have gained a significant popularity in recent years to tackle hard real world problems and solve complex optimization functions whose actual solution does not exist. Many new algorithms have been developed which show their capabilities almost in every aspect, where rapid solutions are needed. A survey of the NIAs that are used to find the optimal digital image watermarking has been presented in this paper. Different paradigms have been considered, Genetic algorithm (GA), particle swarm optimization (PSO), differential evolution (DE), ant colony optimization (ACO), bee algorithm (BA), cat swarm optimization (CSO), firefly algorithm (FA) and cuckoo search algorithm (CS) that help to find the optimal digital image watermarking.
