A significant body of prior research on performance management systems (PMSs) either explains the components and the design of the systems or investigates the link between particular system/s and organizational functions, capabilities, or performance. In contrast, this study investigates the comprehensive use of PMSs and relates them to corporate financial and non-financial performance. Further, this study examines whether the association between PMSs and performance varies between industries or is moderated by the size of the company. Data was collected using a questionnaire that was sent to companies from different industries operating in Riyadh province, where the most important businesses in Saudi Arabia are located. A total of 152 usable responses were received. The results of this study revealed that companies use a variety of PMSs at a balanced level. The extent of each category of PMS use is associated with the extent of other PMS categories’ use. However, the larger the company, the more PMSs it uses. Importantly, the results showed a positive and significant association between PMSs’ extent of use and both financial and non-financial performance. This association was minimally moderated by the company size and industry for specific categories of PMSs and performance.

Intracellular synthesis of silver/silver chloride nanoparticles (Ag/AgCl-NPs) using Meyerozyma guilliermondii KX008616 is reported under aerobic and anaerobic conditions for the first time. The biogenic synthesis of Ag-NP types has been proposed as an easy and cost-effective alternative for various biomedical applications. The interaction of nanoparticles with ethanol production was mentioned. The purified biogenic Ag/AgCl-nanoparticles were characterized by different spectroscopic and microscopic approaches. The purified nanoparticles exhibited a surface plasmon resonance band at 419 and 415 nm, confirming the formation of Ag/AgCl-NPs under aerobic and anaerobic conditions, respectively. The planes of the cubic crystalline phase of the Ag/AgCl-NPs were confirmed by X-ray diffraction. Fourier-transform infrared spectra showed the interactions between the yeast cell constituents and silver ions to form the biogenic Ag/AgCl-NPs. The intracellular Ag/AgCl-NPs synthesized under aerobic condition were homogenous and spherical in shape, with an approximate particle size of 2.5-30nm as denoted by the transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The reaction mixture was optimized by varying reaction parameters, including temperature and pH. Analysis of ultrathin sections of yeast cells by TEM indicated that the biogenic nanoparticles were formed as clusters, known as nanoaggregates, in the cytoplasm or in the inner and outer regions of the cell wall. The study recommends using the biomass of yeast that is used in industrial or fermentation purposes to produce Ag/AgCl-NPs as associated by-products to maximize benefit and to reduce the production cost.
Compressive Sensing: From Theory to Applications, a Survey
Saad Qaisar,Rana Muhammad Bilal,Wafa Iqbal,Muqaddas Naureen,이승룡 한국통신학회 2013 Journal of communications and networks Vol.15 No.5
Compressive sensing (CS) is a novel sampling paradigmthat samples signals in a much more efficient way than the establishedNyquist sampling theorem. CS has recently gained a lot ofattention due to its exploitation of signal sparsity. Sparsity, an inherentcharacteristic of many natural signals, enables the signalto be stored in few samples and subsequently be recovered accurately, courtesy of CS. This article gives a brief background on theorigins of this idea, reviews the basic mathematical foundation ofthe theory and then goes on to highlight different areas of its applicationwith a major emphasis on communications and networkdomain. Finally, the survey concludes by identifying new areas ofresearch where CS could be beneficial.
Lower eyelid fornix deepening: A new indication for the facial artery myomucosal flap

Eye socket contracture is a well-known late complication of enucleation surgery, and the additional insult of radiotherapy at an early age causes even further fibrosis and scarring of the socket. Management of the contracted socket is challenging, and several methods have been proposed. We report a case of eye socket contracture after enucleation and radiotherapy in which multiple reconstructive procedures failed. The recurrent contracture caused difficulty in housing and retaining the eye prosthesis. We reconstructed the lower eyelid with a facial artery myomucosal flap and nasolabial flap, and the upper eyelid with a Fricke flap following reconstruction of the orbital rims (supraorbital and infraorbital rims with a calvarial bone graft, and further augmentation of the infraorbital rim with a rib bone graft). Cosmesis post-reconstruction was acceptable and the prosthesis was retained very well.

High-availability seamless redundancy (HSR) is a redundancy protocol for Ethernet networks that provides two frame copies for each frame sent. Each copy will pass through separate physical paths, pursuing zero fault recovery time. This means that even in the case of a node or a link failure, there is no stoppage of network operations whatsoever. HSR is a potential candidate for the communications of a smart grid, but its main drawback is the unnecessary traffic created due to the duplicated copies of each sent frame, which are generated and circulated inside the network. This downside will degrade network performance and might cause network congestion or even stoppage. In this paper, we present two approaches to solve the above-mentioned problem. The first approach is called quick removing (QR), and is suited to ring or connected ring topologies. The idea is to remove the duplicated frame copies from the network when all the nodes have received one copy of the sent frame and begin to receive the second copy. Therefore, the forwarding of those frame copies until they reach the source node, as occurs in standard HSR, is not needed in QR. Our example shows a traffic reduction of 37.5%compared to the standard HSR protocol. The second approach is called the virtual ring (VRing), which divides any closed-loop HSR network into several VRings. Each VRing will circulate the traffic of a corresponding group of nodes within it. Therefore, the traffic in that group will not affect any of the other network links or nodes, which results in an enhancement of traffic performance. For our sample network, the VRing approach shows a network traffic reduction in the range of 67.7to 48.4%in a healthy network case and 89.7 to 44.8%in a faulty network case, compared to standard HSR.

Secure and continuous electric vehicle (EV) charging operation is a key concern for the safety of EVs and their reliable integration with the power grid. During a lightning incident on the distribution network, the security of integrated EVs is threatened. Lightning overvoltages can be damaging for the EVs, resulting in huge repair costs. Thus, it is necessary that the feeder is provided with lightning protection for the safe integration of EVs. This paper has analyzed direct lightning overvoltages on IEEE 13-node distribution feeder with and without surge arrester protection. The system overvoltages are evaluated on primary distribution nodes, which are the prospective locations for EV connection. Results show the importance of lightning protection of the feeder for EV integration.
New quantum variants of Simpson-Newton type inequalities via $(\alpha,m)$-convexity
Saad Ihsan Butt,Qurat Ul Ain,Huseyin Budak 강원경기수학회 2023 한국수학논문집 Vol.31 No.2
In this article, we will utilize $(\alpha, m)$-convexity to create a new form of Simpson-Newton inequalities in quantum calculus by using $q_{\varrho_{1}}$-integral and $q_{\varrho_{1}}$-derivative. Newly discovered inequalities can be transformed into quantum Newton and quantum Simpson for generalized convexity. Additionally, this article demonstrates how some recently created inequalities are simply the extensions of some previously existing inequalities. The main findings are generalizations of numerous results that already exist in the literature, and some fundamental inequalities, such as H\"{o}lder's and Power mean, have been used to acquire new bounds.
US-China Strategic Competition: Implications for International Order
Saad Bin Zaffar Sraw,Mir Sher Baz Khetran 아시아사회과학학회 2021 Jornal of Asia Social Science Vol.4 No.2
The paper attempts to identify the key areas where a strategic competition is being played out between US and China and its possible implications for overall regional and global order. It includes a broad based probe into the nuances of ramifications that this fundamental competition, which some chose to name as conflict, shall entail. Not only will it have political consequences, but will help change the overall strategic complexion and economic superstructure of the world besides altering the rules based international order beyond recognition. It is one of the most important and significant geo-strategic, geo-political and geo-economic moment of the century and we all stand at the cusp of a massive change for which we are neither ready nor prepared. The objective of the study is to investigate nature of the competition, changes it has brought to the threat spectrum, articulation of possible responses by states involved in it and ways in which it will transform the world that we see today.
