In this paper, the Chebyshev wavelets method for solving a model for HIV infection of CD4+ T-cells is studied. The properties of Chebyshev wavelets and their operational matrices are rst presented and then are used to convert into algebraic equations. Also the convergence and error analysis for the proposed technique is discussed. Illustrative examples are given to demonstrate the valid- ity and applicability of the technique. The eciency of the proposed method is compared with other traditional methods and it is observed that the Chebyshev wavelet method is more convenient than the other methods in terms of applica- bility, eciency, accuracy, error and computational eort.
A numerical study on the flow patterns of two oscillating cylinders

Flow around two oscillating cylinders in a side-by-side arrangement at Reynolds number (Re)=185 is simulated using the immersed boundary method. The purpose of this study is to investigate the combined effects of the gap between the two cylinders and their oscillation in the flow. The cylinders oscillate transversely to a uniform cross-flow with a prescribed sinusoidal function in the opposite direction, with the oscillation amplitude equal to 20% of the cylinder diameter. The gap between the two cylinders and the oscillating frequency are chosen as major variables for the parametric study to investigate their influence on the flow pattern. The ratio of mean gap distance between the two oscillating cylinders to the cylinder diameter is chosen to be 0.6, 1.0, 1.4, and 1.8, and the ratio of oscillating frequencies to the natural vortex shedding frequency of a fixed cylinder is 0.8, 1.0, and 1.2. Wake patterns and the drag and lift coefficients are described and compared with those from a single oscillating cylinder and two stationary cylinders. The wake patterns of two oscillating cylinders can be explained by flow mechanisms of two stationary cylinders, a single oscillating cylinder, and their combinations, and are in agreement with classifications of flow over two stationary cylinders presented in previous studies. In the case of two oscillating cylinders, the modulation phenomenon appears from a lower excitation frequency than in a single oscillating cylinder. Generally, oscillating cylinders have higher drag and root-mean-square (r.m.s.) values of drag coefficients than stationary cylinders.

Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) ids one of the most common cancer worldwide. Polymorphism in p53 and XRCC1 genes were associated with increased risk of early-onset HCC. We thus hypothesized that, these polymorphism could be more likely in South Indian population. However the status of these mutations in South Indian HCC had not been studied. Methods: In the present study 130 HCC patients and 130 control subjects were analyzed for known polymorphisms in the p53 and XRCC1 genes. Results: In the Arg194Trp polymorphism of p53 gene, we found 19.05% with Arg- 399Trp (heterozygous variant) genotype and 1.6% with 399Trp (homozygous variant) in comparison to controls who exhibited 90.39% with wild type genotype. In Arg399Gln polymorphism of XRCC1 gene, 46.17% were found to have Arg399Gln (heterozygous variant) genotype and 10.11% were found to have 399Gln (homozygous variant) genotype in comparison to controls who exhibited 55% individuals with heterozygous variant genotype and 16.75% with homozygous variant genotype. This polymorphic incidence revealed signifi cant association with advanced stages of the HCC and also well differentiated tumor. Conclusions: Thus the results of our study provide the genetic variations of p53 and XRCC1 which may contribute to the susceptibility to HCC in South India. The results suggest that, these genes could play a signifi cant role in HCC and the combined effect of these variants may interact to increase the risk of HCC in Indian population.
FRACTIONAL POLYNOMIAL METHOD FOR SOLVING INTEGRO-DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS OF FRACTIONAL ORDER

This paper presents an efficient fractional shifted Legendre polyno- mial method to solve the fractional integro-differential equations. The fractional derivatives are described based on the Caputo sense by using Riemann-Liouville fractional integral operator. The theoretical analysis such as convergence anal- ysis and error bound for the proposed technique has been demonstrated. Some numerical examples are provided to show that this method is computationally efficient. Finally, the obtained results reveal that the proposed technique is very convenient and quite accurate to solve fractional integro-differential equations.
