Dehydration of biomass into valuable nitrogen-containing compounds is highly desired, such a process remains challenging. The synthesis of amines (furfurylamines) from xylose utilizing [Pro(Etpy)<sub>3</sub>][Lac]<sub>3</sub> ionic liquid (IL) with Eto3SiH as a reductive agent, which offers a metal-free route and mild condition. This IL showed excellent catalytic activity toward the synthesis of industrially important molecules. Dehydration of xylose followed by reductive amination gave 63-72% yield of furfurylamines with 100% purity using [Pro(Etpy)<sub>3</sub>][Lac]<sub>3</sub> IL catalyst with Eto<sub>3</sub>SiH. This one pot three-step procedure is highly efficient for the synthesis of furfurylamines from xylose as it avoids isolation of furfural and requires single catalysts for three different steps. Additionally, this IL demonstrates good recyclability and effectivity.
NDynamic Framework for Secure VM Migration over Cloud Computing

In the centralized cloud controlled environment, the decision-making and monitoring play crucial role where in the host controller (HC) manages the resources across hosts in data center (DC). HC does virtual machine (VM) and physical hosts management. The VM management includes VM creation, monitoring, and migration. If HC down, the services hosted by various hosts in DC can't be accessed outside the DC. Decentralized VM management avoids centralized failure by considering one of the hosts from DC as HC that helps in maintaining DC in running state. Each host in DC has many VM's with the threshold limit beyond which it can't provide service. To maintain threshold, the host's in DC does VM migration across various hosts. The data in migration is in the form of plaintext, the intruder can analyze packet movement and can control hosts traffic. The incorporation of security mechanism on hosts in DC helps protecting data in migration. This paper discusses an approach for dynamic HC selection, VM selection and secure VM migration over cloud environment.

A series of $Ce_1Mg_xZr_{1-x}O_2$ (CMZO) mixed metal oxide with different molar ratio were prepared by simple co-precipitation method. The prepared materials were tested for their catalytic activity performance using Knoevenagel condensation of various aromatic aldehydes with barbituric acid under solvent-free condition in microwave. The best catalytic activity was obtained with CMZO (1:0.6:0.4). The synthesized materials were characterized by using XRD, FT-IR, SEM-EDS techniques.

A series of $MoO_3/CeO_2-ZrO_2$ catalysts with different Mo content (8 - 20 wt %) were prepared by simple co-precipitation followed by impregnation method and were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), infrared spectroscopy (IR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopic (EDS) techniques. The prepared materials were tested for catalytic activity by the synthesis of benzimidazole derivatives using condensation of aromatic aldehydes and o-phenylenediamine by conventional and microwave method. Obtained results reveal that the catalytic activity increases with increase in Mo wt % loading. The best catalytic activity was obtained with 20 wt % $MoO_3/CeO_2-ZrO_2$. The particle size or crystallite size was estimated using Debye-Scherrer equation. After completion of reaction, the catalyst can be recovered efficiently and reused with consistent activity.
Probing charge transport in manganite film through switching parameters

We have investigated the bipolar resistive switching of Y0.95Ca0.05MnO3 (YCMO) thin film on Si substrate using pulsed laser deposition. Simulation of Mn L3,2 near-edge X-ray absorption fine structure has been executed by CTM4XAS to corroborate the presence of a mixed-valence state of Mn ions and oxygen vacancies. The charge transport in the film is described by the space charge limited mechanism. Murgatroyd and space charge limited mechanism relations are used to calculate the mobility and other switching parameters at high resistance state. With a decrease in the switching layer (near to positively biased electrode) thickness, better resistive switching was observed. This work indicates that the localized switching thickness and temperature strongly affect the resistive switching of the YCMO film.

In this work, we designed a Cu/CC catalyst from readily available biomass-derived D-glucose. The synthesized Cu/CC catalyst was characterized by various techniques such as FT-IR, SEM, EDX, XRD, TEM, TGA, XPS and BET. This catalyst has shown excellent catalytic activity toward the synthesis of Biological important Furyl-containing Propargylamines from furfural and xylose. A3 coupling reaction of carbonyl compounds (furfural) proceeded in 74-96 % yield, and dehydration of xylose followed by coupling products gave 55-76 % yield of propargylamines using Cu/CC catalyst. The one-pot multistep procedure is highly efficient for synthesis of propargylamines from xylose as it avoids isolation of furfural and requires a single catalyst for multi-steps. This catalyst was used as a support to immobilize low loading of copper species to be used as a catalyst in the A3 coupling reaction. More importantly, the catalyst could be recovered and reused without any significant loss in the activity.
