Coarsening Advantage of Twinned BaTiO<sub>3</sub> Seed Particle

The coarsening process of two different $BaTiO_3$ single crystal seeds, one with a (111) double twin and the other without it, was investigated. Due to the presence of Twin Plane Reentrant Edge (TPRE), the coarsening rate of the twinned seed crystal was significantly higher than that without a twin. For the coarsening by the 2-dimensional nucleation and lateral growth, the energy barrier for nucleation at the TPRE was analyzed to be about a half compared with that at the terrace planes.

Recently, some researchers proposed a hybrid model of genetic algorithms and neural networks for optimal learning of neural networks. In this model, information about the weights of neural networks is encoded in the genome of the genetic algorithm using binary string. The binary representation used in genetic algorithms has some drawbacks when applied to neural networks that have many weight. Also, performance of genetic algorithm differs according to various selection and crossover methods. In this paper, we apply real-coded genetic algorithm to a hybrid model and compare this model with binary model. We also analyze its performance according to various selection and crossover methods.

Let (A,m) be a Noetherian local ring and M a finitely generated A-module. The notion of pseudo Buchsbaum module was introduced in [3] as an extension of that of Buchsbaum module. In this paper, we give a condition for the idealization A⋉M of M over A to be pseudo Buchsbaum.
