        Intelligent resilience of cementitious materials for marine infrastructures

        In this paper, a novel intelligent resilience system of cementitious materials for marine infrastructures developed recently at Shenzhen University is introduced. The aim of this system is to provide intelligent resilience against attacks of the marine environment on infrastructures made of cement-based materials, resulting in infrastructures with durability properties that far exceed those of conventional ones. Starting from the principles of intelligent resilience, the logic line of development of such a system is followed. Fundamental terms related to the resilience concept are discussed. On-going researches on material systems, design procedures and numerical models will be highlighted. The major challenges and further development concerning the intelligent resilience in cementitious materials will be addressed.

        When we consider Christian counseling, the understanding of transcendence is essential. In this paper, we define Christian counseling as a liberating process for the man and God. First, we review the concepts of transcendence related with transformation and claim that these two concepts are quite intrinsically connected. Since God in Christianity is the transcendental object, this thought naturally leads to search some integration with object relation theory. Here, we include Kohut's self psychology in the realm of object relation theory. Some main concepts as transference, true-false self, transitional object and self object are considered with respect to the concept of transformation and transcendence in the view of Christian counseling.

        The Impact of Emotional Intelligence and Transformational Leadership on Organizational Culture and Employee Performance in the Banking Industry in Vietnam

        Purpose: The objective of this research is to evaluate the influence of emotional intelligence and transformational leadership on organizational culture and employee performance. Design/methodology/approach: Data was gathered from a total of 291 employees currently employed at banks in Vietnam via the use of Google Forms. Using PLS-SEM, or partial least squares structural equation modeling, to analyze the data. Findings: The findings revealed that emotional intelligence had a beneficial effect on organizational culture. Besides, the results demonstrated that transformational leadership also had a positive impact on organizational culture. The findings also revealed that organizational culture had a beneficial effect on employee performance. Research limitations/implications: These findings have significant implications for banking managers seeking to enhance employee performance. Originality/value: This important research contributes to improving our comprehension of the impact that emotional intelligence and transformational leadership exert on organizational culture and employee performance.

Currently, the Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) has become the field of global research. In Vietnam, the demand for the development of science and technology to national development and integration has become a pressing demand. Therefore, for a long time, almost all the concerns of the society towards the Science and Technology, meanwhile, sector of SSH were not paid due attention and proper investment. This problem has led to a worrying situation that is the Vietnamese Social sciences and Humanities are “lagging behind” in comparison with the countries in the world. The share of SSH articles published is very limited in international journals. Through understanding the reality of SSH research in Vietnam and the situation of SSH research in the world, the article suggested some solutions to in order to promote social sciences and Humanities research, to the SSH in Vietnam to strong development, towards integration and globalization. The solutions focus on the following issues: Building a Strategic Human Resources, Research Orientation and Planning, Promoting International research cooperation, Developing investment funds for research and Changing the form of grants, evaluate of research results.

        In this paper, we investigate an initial boundary value problem for a nonlinear pseudoparabolic equation. At first, by applying the Faedo-Galerkin, we prove local existence and uniqueness results. Next, by constructing Lyapunov functional, we establish a sufficient condition to obtain the global existence and exponential decay of weak solutions.

        ĐÁNH GIÁ KHẢ NĂNG LÀM LÀNH VẾT BỎNG TRÊN CHUỘT CỦA HYDROGEL TỪ AgNP-CHITOSAN-CURCUMIN

        Skin burn is one of the major causes of morbidity and mortality in burn patients due to its susceptibility to infection. The disruption of the epidermal barrier, combined with the denaturation of proteins and lipids, provides a fertile environment that is rich in bacterial nutrients for microbial growth, making it significantly prone to infection. This study aimed to formulate a thermoresponsive hydrogel containing silver nanoparticles (300 ppm), oligo chitosan 2%, and curcumin (0.1%) in the polymer pluronic F127 matrix with a final concentration of 13% to effectively promote the healing of skin wounds. The prepared thermoresponsive hydrogel was investigated for its physical and chemical stability, gelation temperature, and chemical composition. In addition to in vitro antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus found in burn infections, in vivo burn healing and antibacterial activities were also investigated and compared with those of a commercial product using burn-induced infected wounds in mice. The formulation showed antibacterial activity with effective values for wound healing properties, as shown in vivo and by histopathological studies. This study also demonstrates that the thermoresponsive hydrogel was successful as an antibacterial and burned wound-healing transdermal drug delivery system.

        Optimal Truncated Ordered Sequential Cooperative Spectrum Sensing in Cognitive Radio

        <P>The cost for increasing the accuracy of cooperative spectrum sensing in cognitive radio requires a long time for collecting sensing data. Sequential fusion, in which the sensing data reports are sequentially collected, combined, and tested with two thresholds for deciding to wait for the next data report or concluding the presence or absence of the primary signal, is considered to reduce the collecting time. A further reduction in the average sequential report number (ASN) can be achieved by arranging the reports in descending order of data quality where the better sensing data is reported earlier. In this paper, the ASN and the error probability of the ordered sequential fusion are analytically calculated based on the direct method. The results are then adopted to design an optimal method for obtaining the optimal sequential thresholds and truncated point. The optimal truncated point enables one to minimize the ASN by discarding the sensing data with low quality, while the optimal sequential thresholds ensure the maintaining of the sensing performance of sequential fusion be the same level to that of the conventional parallel fusion.</P>

        An enhanced cooperative spectrum sensing scheme based on evidence theory and reliability source evaluation in cognitive radio context

        <P>This letter proposes an enhanced scheme for cooperative spectrum sensing which utilizes the signal to noise ratios to evaluate the degree of reliability of each local spectrum sensing terminal on a distributed Cognitive Radio network. The terminals' reliability weight is applied to adjust its sensing data more accurately before making fusion by Dempter-Shafer theory of evidence. Simulation results show that significant improvement of the cooperative spectrum sensing gain is achieved by our scheme.</P>

        Public transportation enable people to share vehicles have been achieved a lot of attentions from transportation authorities in solving traffic problems thanks to great potential it brings without having to spend money on improving the road network. However public travel mode often requires multiple transfers and detours and is unable to provide door-to-door services. Rideshare model introduced in this paper is able to address such issues. This research especially focuses on finding people who have regular frequent routes to recommend ride shares so that they can travel costs.

      • Evidence-Theory-Based Cooperative Spectrum Sensing With Efficient Quantization Method in Cognitive Radio

        <P>Sensing spectra in a reliable and efficient manner is fundamental to cognitive radio (CR). Ensuring cooperation among spectrum sensing devices is an appropriate method when a CR system is under deep shadowing and in a fading environment. In this paper, an enhanced scheme for cooperative spectrum sensing (CSS) based on efficient quantization and the Dempster-Shafer (D-S) theory of evidence is proposed. The proposed scheme includes an effective quantizer for the sensing data by utilizing special properties of the hypothesis distribution under different signal-to-noise ratios (SNRs) of the primary signal. As a result, the required bandwidth for the reporting channel is reduced while the advantage for combinations of the D-S theory is maintained. Simulation results revealed that significant improvements in the CSS gain, as well as a reduction in the system overhead, were achieved.</P>
