        The purpose of this study is to look the role and aims of the humanities in the digital age. Humanities in the digital age began using digital technology contributed to the humanities. For a typical example, Annals of the Joseon Dynasty(조선왕조실록), the Royal Secretariat(승정원일기), and a Journal such as Ilseongrok(일성록) were digitized in the part of History. As a result, research have been activated. On the other hand, Humanities in the digital age has evolved with the development of technology. For example, Graphics, Virtual Reality, Images, Electronic Maps, etc. These technologies were deployed various methodologies in the Humanities. In addition, Humanities research topics have been expanded dramatically in Time and Space. People to participate in the study were varied Computer, Graphics, Architecture, and Arts, This phenomenon was not visible in the traditional Liberal Arts. But the humanities should not dependent on digital technology. In contrast, the Humanities should be required to digital technology to enable Humanistic Thinking.

      • 한성대학교 초기 해외봉사와 학생들의 의식 변화

        The author was the leader of Hansung University’s overseas volunteer program. S/he has also led volunteer missions in the aftermath of the 2006 flooding in Injae, Kangwondo, as well as the oil spill that devastated Taean in December 2007. Whenever possible, s/he volunteers serving food at a senior recreation center located in Insadong, Jongrogu, Seoul. S/he also volunteers at a senior home in Myungildong, Kangdonggu which serves seniors suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. Additionally, s/he volunteers delivering coal briquettes to families in need during the holiday season. S/he participates in these activities with students who have previously partaken in the overseas volunteer program, and examines how these experiences can shape a participant’s character and outlook.

      • 소셜네트워크 형성효과로 본 대학생 해외봉사 : 한성대학교 해외봉사단 사례를 중심으로

        Volunteering program has recently met its growth in the number of organization, and number of participants. It has also been diverse in the aspects of program contents and regions. Especially college students who participate volunteering abroad have started participating more vigorously in order to meet the society's needs and to fulfill the need of self-actualization. The purpose of present study is to analyze the effect of volunteering abroad program organized by college in terms of the formation of social network and communication. Data was collected by Hansung University volunteering abroad program, term9(as experienced group) and term10(unexperienced group) over the period of Oct. 23 thru Oct. 30. The total of 28 questionnaires from term9 and 34 from10 were collected without sampling. The results were as following: 1) Network formed during the preparation(for 2 months), actual volunteering period, and after the volunteering had positive effect on the pride of college and self-confidence. 2) Diverse communication channels were adopted within the college community and also toward society thru newspaper(in Korea, and in Kazakhstan), radio program(in Korea, and in Central Asia), and internet blogs. 3) Comparing two groups(term 9 as after volunteering group and term 10 as before volunteering group) in terms of meanings assigned to volunteering abroad showed that experienced group mentioned more about ‘happiness, passion, self-confidence’ than unexperienced group. Unexperienced group mentioned more about ‘effort, sacrifice, difficulties’ than experienced group. Volunteering abroad program organized by Hansung University was effective in forming assertive feelings among the participants.

      • 고분벽화 문화와 디지털콘텐츠 영상

        This article summarizes cultural trends of mural paintings in Korea from Goguryeo to Joseon period. It also examines the present conditions of 120 Goguryeo and 5 Balhae murals around China and North Korea, 7 murals of Baekje, Shilla, and Gaya, 18 Goryeo and 4 Joseon murals located in Korean peninsula. In general, the tradition of Goguryeo murals was interrupted, but succeeded by Balhae a century later. Then it lasted about a millennium until the early Joseon period. Therefore, it is arguable that the mural tradition in Korea from Goguryeo was temporarily discontinued, and continued. However, a new research on factors which caused the stoppage and succession of the Goguryeo tradition and whether the tradition was interrupted or succeeded until Joseon period is required. Along with issues of mural preservation, this paper also investigates the production and application of digital images of murals as contents. Restoration of murals is inevitable at this moment in which many of murals are being damaged. Due to this problem, the model production method is often cited as a solution. However, it involves considerable amount of budget. Therefore, rather than the model production, preservation of murals by using images is suggested and devised. This method utilizes digital images in order to show the restored or original status of lost or impaired murals. In the early stage when the concept of digital restoration was adopted, it solely depended on photographs, while current trend shows possibilities even to reconstruct life styles of Goguryeo not only with 3 dimension data, but also with virtual reality. In particular, murals investigated in the 20th century were severely impaired or lost due to environmental changes caused by inappropriate treatment on them during investigation. Present situation as such necessitates the digitalization of murals and that issue is galvanized since South Korean scholars do not enjoy enough access to murals in China and North Korea. In this context, the digital contents production of Anak Tomb No. 3, Deokheungri Murals, and Gagnseo Big Tomb was attempted. Recently, the 3 dimension modeling and scanning from the cultural heritage field and the Goguryeo murals as digital contents combined with virtual reality are employed. These contents are digital restoration works which guarantee the perpetual preservation of murals devoid of damage and loss. In short, this method is a combination of knowledge from humanities and information technologies which restores murals in virtual venue with computer graphics, virtual reality, cultural technology. If such an attempt could result in success, it would prove the method’s value as a digital archive for perpetual preservation and cultural heritage preservation data. Also, character development such as avatar or item easily accessible to general public and other types of contents construction is possible. Moreover it can be used as basic resources for research of next generation scholars. That is, digital contents of murals would arose public’s interest as contents of culture, art, information, and knowledge.

      • 음악 콘텐츠의 영상적 소통방식 : 원더걸스의 ‘Nobody’ 뮤직비디오를 중심으로

        Music video is the way of video-communication of music contents. Every communication has a goal, and the goal of music video is to arouse the intense impression of the music contents, through expanding the experiences that are given form the music contents. 「Nobody」 is the most popular song of WonderGirls. And the music video for 「Nobody」 won the prize of the best music video of 2008 by MKMF. This music video has 2 ways of expanding the experiences of 「Nobody」. First one is the strategic organization of the music video. There are 2 types of music video. They are cinema-type which focused on story and photograph-type which focused on image. In this music video, 2 types are arranged in a row, so the people who enjoyed this music video finds a flow without the time of boring. Second one is 4 ideas for expanding the experiences used in the music video. They are Cinderella motif, instinctive images that are use in photograph-type music video, various angle according to the situations of each character, and identifying WonderGirls who are on air with the Cinderella who appeared in the music video.

      • 근대 서양 윤리학의 전환점 : 의무 윤리학과 공리주의 윤리학

        Die beiden Ethik: Kantische Ethik und Utilitarismus sind die wichtigsten von den modernen Ethik. In dieser Arbeit werden sie miteinander verglichen, mit dem Zweck, ihre Eigentuemlichkeiten herauszufinden. Die Arbeit gibt zuerst auf den zeitlichen Kontext ihres Auftritts Aufmerksamkeit, und bringt dann ihre Wesentlichkeiten ans Licht. Das Wort ‘Wendung' weist auf das Resultat der ersteren Untersuchung hin, und die Woerter ‘Pflicht' und ‘Nutzen', wodurch man die beiden Ethik im allgemein charakterisiert, auf das der letzteren. Man wuerde die Arbeit als eine Vorbereitung fuer die ‘dritte' moderne Ethik halten koennen, die ‘hier und jetzt' gelten soll.

      • 소설의 영원한 내적 형식 : 길 그리고 여행

        This article aims to examine the journey form which is important on the development stage of novels. The discussion begins from the question journey form still will have validity in korean modern novels. For the discussion, I divide the journey form into three type - returning to starting point type, opened linear type, closed linear type. The analysis is focused on the texts won the Lee-Sang Literature Awards Grand Prize. The award representatives award systems in korea novels. The conclusions are as follows, 1. In korean modern novels, journey form is still meaningful device. Over Half of the targets contain the form. 2. The space that is essential factor of the form, appears very multiply. After 1990's specific city and place in foreign country is embodied more meaningful device than domestic. 3. In returning to starting point type it tend to be based on the epistemology as the individual’s approach, by comparison in linear type as the social collective’s approach. 4. The novelistic critical mind is more deeply embodied in closed linear type than returning to starting point type.
