Development of a Machine Vision System for Automotive Part-Car Seat Frame Inspection

Meeting the growing demand deadlines, reducing the production cost and upgrading the quality control measurements are the reasons why the automotive part manufacturers are venturing into automation. Attaining these objectives is impossible with human inspection for many reasons. Accordingly, the introduction of machine vision system purposely for car seat frame inspection is presented in this study as an alternative for human inspection. This proposal is designed to meet the demands, features and specifications of car seat frame manufacturing companies in striving for increased throughput of better quality. More specifically, this computer-based inspection proposal is designed to perform quality measures to detect holes, nuts and welding spots on every car seat fiame in real time and ensuring these portions to be intact, precise and in proper place. In this study, the NI Vision Builder software for Automatic Inspection is used as a solution in configuring the aimed quality measurements. These quality measurement techniques for visual inspection are optimized through qualitative analysis and simulation of human tolerance on inspecting car seat frames. Furthermore, this study exemplifies the incorporation of the optimized vision inspection environment to the pre-inspection and post-inspection phases using LabVIEW software.

Roles for Public Education in Mental Health Promotion, Prevention of Mental Illness and Treatment of Mental Disorders in Canada

Objectives: The purpose of this paper is to describe the role for public education in mental health promotion, prevention of mental illness and treatment of mental disorders in Canada. Results: A brief history of the changing nature of the way we treat mental disorders in Canada argues for an increasingly critical role for public education. Furthermore, the new understanding of the role of social determinants in prevention of mental illness again necessitates a vital role for public education as the shift in focus moves from exclusively individual-focused health care treatments to creating supportive environments. The roles for mental health public education then become: advocacy for the social determinants of health approach, better understanding of the nature of mental health problems, useful information for self-management, and more knowledge about appropriate treatments. A brief discussion of the structure of the response in Canada provides an overview of national and provincial responsibilities in mental health care with a case study highlighting one community's response to addressing mental disorders. Conclusion : Finally, challenges regarding the most effective educators and the issue of professional expertise embedded in the status quo are discussed.

Some Secrets of Korean Church Growth

The growth of the Korean church is a 20th century miracle. Christians in many countries wonder why the church is growing so fast here and not in other Asian countries. While it is impossible to list all the objective reasons for a spiritual movement, I will suggest some reasons though all these "secrets" will not necessarily be in their order of importance. I write as a foreigner, so request understanding if some of my observations are wrong.

LEJAREN HILLER : PIONEER IN COMPUTER MUSIC 컴퓨터 음악의 선구자

화학박사이자 작곡가인 Lejaren Hiller(1924∼ )의 3초기 작품, Illiac Suite(일리악 조곡), Computer Cantata(컴퓨터 칸타타), 그리고 HPSCHD가 초기 컴퓨터 음악발전에 공헌한 점에 대한 논문이다. 4악장으로 구성된 Illiac Suite은 Illinois 대학에 전자음악 스튜디오가 설립되기 3년전인 1955년에 작곡된 작품으로서 초기 컴퓨터에 의한 악보(Fig.1) 창안으로 부터, Fux, Schenker, Hindemith, Stravinsky, 정보이론, Monte Carlo 임의 선택방법에 의한 1, 2, 4성의 다성실험 작품이다(Fig.2). 1963년 작곡된 Computer Cantata는 IBM 7090, 일명 Musicomp라는 컴퓨터에 의해 악보를, 그리고 CSX-1 컴퓨터에 의해 音을 생성한 작품으로 그 구조(Fig.3)와 가사처리(Fig.4)는 한 옥타브를 9에서부터 15까지 등분하여 사용하고 있다. HPSCHD는 John Cage와 합동으로 제작된 작품으로 전자합시코드 독주와 함께 6대의 합시코드, 8 영사기, 51 녹음기, 64 슬라이드 투영기가 사용되어 4시간반의 연주 시간을 소요하는 작품으로서 1969년에 초연되었다. 이에 사용된 조율은 5부터 51등분의 미분음을 사용하여 885,000의 다른 音들이 출현되었다고 Cage는 주장하고 있다.

Constitutive Analysis of the Mean Flow Stress of a Nb- and N-Bearing Austenitic Stainless Steel Biomaterial

The correlation between hardening and softening in an ASTM F-1586 stainless steel used as biomaterial was investigatedby means of hot torsion simulations. Multi-pass deformation under continuous cooling was employed to simulate industrialhot rolling. Samples were subjected to 17 deformation passes of strains of 0.20 and 0.30, strain rate of 1.0 s−1 in a temperaturerange of 1250 to 930 °C. Interpass times (tp) of 5.0, 10, 20, 40, and 80 s were used. The obtained results showed directdependence of the mean flow stress (MFS) and all applied thermomechanical parameters. The work hardening rate associatedwith the degree of stress accumulation (Δσ) inhibited the metadynamic recrystallization. This led to the variation ofthe non-recrystallization temperature (Tnr), associated with intense static recovery in the material. From the experimentaldata, a constitutive function of the mean flow stress (MFS) obtained through multiple nonlinear regression technique wasproposed. The study aimed to have a better understanding of the physical metallurgy behind the thermomechanical behaviorof the steel under a multi-pass process. The results allowed to monitor the recrystallized fraction (X) and the grain size (d)during the simulated conditions.
