Dr. Anderson, faculty members, and students, it is my honor to lecture at Fuller Theological Seminary, the world-renowned seminary. First of all, I would like to mention the intimate relationship between the two schools : fuller Seminary and the Asian Center for Theological Studies and Mission. The close tie between the two institutes is mainly due to the close friendship among the persons who constitute the two schools. In other words, many of tie evangelical leaders who are also friends of Fuller theological Seminary, have participated in the foundation of ACTS.

Strauss received his education in the conservative environment of the lower Seminary at Blaubeuren and later at the university of Tu¨bingen which was at that time still moted for its supernatutalistic theology. among the few teachers to whom he was attracted was F. C. Baur, then in the early stages of his teaching career. The importance of eschatology in the theology of Karl Barth is not to be minimized for the reason that eschatology is the dominant theme in his entire theology. This may be observed from his own statement: "Christianity which is not totally and entirely eschatology has separated itself totally and entirely from Christ." Elsewhere he states also, "Jesus Christ Himself is the established Kingdom of God.
