ON CONVERGENCE OF THE MODIFIED GAUSS-SEIDEL ITERATIVE METHOD FOR H-MATRIX LINEAR SYSTEM
Miao, Shu-Xin,Zheng, Bing Korean Mathematical Society 2013 대한수학회논문집 Vol.28 No.3
In 2009, Zheng and Miao [B. Zheng and S.-X. Miao, Two new modified Gauss-Seidel methods for linear system with M-matrices, J. Comput. Appl. Math. 233 (2009), 922-930] considered the modified Gauss-Seidel method for solving M-matrix linear system with the preconditioner $P_{max}$. In this paper, we consider the modified Gauss-Seidel method for solving the linear system with the generalized preconditioner $P_{max}({\alpha})$, and study its convergent properties when the coefficient matrix is an H-matrix. Numerical experiments are performed with different examples, and the numerical results verify our theoretical analysis.
Inaccuracy and Instability: Challenges of SiC MOSFET Transient Measurement Intruded by Probes
Zheng Zeng,Xin Zhang,Linjing Miao 전력전자학회 2019 ICPE(ISPE)논문집 Vol.2019 No.5
SiC MOSFET is increasingly implemented for high frequency and high power density converters. However, due to the breakneck switching speed of the SiC device and the parasitics of measurement probes, accurate and stable measurements of the transient behavior of SiC MOSFET pose unsolved challenges. In this paper, the inaccuracy and instability of SiC MOSFET caused by measurement probes are highlighted. Besides, mathematical models, interaction mechanisms and influence factors of transient measurement SiC MOSFET intruded by probes are proposed. Concerning the measurement inaccuracy, the bandwidth, rise time and propagation delay of probes and oscilloscope are modeled. Concerning the measurement instability, to understand the interaction mechanism between device and probes, impedance-oriented models of device and probes are proposed. From the perspective of small-signal model, the stability of tested SiC MOSFET influenced by the parasitics of probes are comprehensively modeled. Experimental results are presented to verify the proposed models.

Background: Endophytic fungi play an important role in balancing the ecosystem and boosting host growth. In the present study, we investigated the endophytic fungal diversity of healthy Panax notoginseng and evaluated its potential antimicrobial activity against five major phytopathogens causing root-rot of P. notoginseng. Methods: A culture-dependent technique, combining morphological and molecular methods, was used to analyze endophytic fungal diversity. A double-layer agar technique was used to challenge the phytopathogens of P. notoginseng. Results: A total of 89 fungi were obtained from the roots, stems, leaves, and seeds of P. notoginseng, and 41 isolates representing different morphotypes were selected for taxonomic characterization. The fungal isolates belonged to Ascomycota (96.6%) and Zygomycota (3.4%). All isolates were classified to 23 genera and an unknown taxon belonging to Sordariomycetes. The number of isolates obtained from different tissues ranged from 12 to 42 for leaves and roots, respectively. The selected endophytic fungal isolates were challenged by the root-rot pathogens Alternaria panax, Fusarium oxysporum, Fusarium solani, Phoma herbarum, and Mycocentrospora acerina. Twenty-six of the 41 isolates (63.4%) exhibited activity against at least one of the pathogens tested. Conclusion: Our results suggested that P. notoginseng harbors diversified endophytic fungi that would provide a basis for the identification of new bioactive compounds, and for effective biocontrol of notoginseng root rot.

Miao, Cui-Ping,Mi, Qi-Li,Qiao, Xin-Guo,Zheng, You-Kun,Chen, You-Wei,Xu, Li-Hua,Guan, Hui-Lin,Zhao, Li-Xing The Korean Society of Ginseng 2016 Journal of Ginseng Research Vol.40 No.2
Background: Rhizospheric fungi play an essential role in the plantesoil ecosystem, affecting plant growth and health. In this study, we evaluated the fungal diversity in the rhizosphere soil of 2-yr-old healthy Panax notoginseng cultivated in Wenshan, China. Methods: Culture-independent Illumina MiSeq and culture-dependent techniques, combining molecular and morphological characteristics, were used to analyze the rhizospheric fungal diversity. A diffusion test was used to challenge the phytopathogens of P. notoginseng. Results: A total of 16,130 paired-end reads of the nuclear ribosomal internal transcribed spacer 2 were generated and clustered into 860 operational taxonomic units at 97% sequence similarity. All the operational taxonomic units were assigned to five phyla and 79 genera. Zygomycota (46.2%) and Ascomycota (37.8%) were the dominant taxa; Mortierella and unclassified Mortierellales accounted for a large proportion (44.9%) at genus level. The relative abundance of Fusarium and Phoma sequenceswas high, accounting for 12.9% and 5.5%, respectively. In total,113 fungal isolates were isolated from rhizosphere soil. They were assigned to five classes, eight orders (except for an Incertae sedis), 26 genera, and 43 species based on morphological characteristics and phylogenetic analysis of the internal transcribed spacer. Fusarium was the most isolated genus with six species (24 isolates, 21.2%). The abundance of Phoma was also relatively high (8.0%). Thirteen isolates displayed antimicrobial activity against at least one test fungus. Conclusion: Our results suggest that diverse fungi including potential pathogenic ones exist in the rhizosphere soil of 2-yr-old P. notoginseng and that antagonistic isolates may be useful for biological control of pathogens.

Lithium-ion battery cathode material Li1þxV3O8 is synthesized by a citric acid/tartaric acid assisted sol egel method and sintered at 350 C, 450 C and 550 C for 3 h for the formation of Li1þxV3O8 phase. The synthesized samples were fully characterized by FTIR, TG/DTA, XRD, SEM, EIS and chargeedischarge tests. Li1þxV3O8 material synthesized by tartaric acid assisted route and sintered at 450 C for 3 h shows best electro-chemical performance. It shows a high initial capacity of 249 mAh g1 and still reserves a discharge capacity of 260 mAh g1 after 50 cycles. Moreover, in the case of tartaric assisted products, no capacity decadence is observed in 50 cycles. XRD together with TG/DTA measurements reveal that compared with citric acid assisted products, the adoption of tartaric acid as chelating agent effectively lowers the crystallization temperature of amorphous Li1þxV3O8. Therefore, precursors obtained by tartaric acid route calcinated at 450 C for 3 h exhibit lower crystallinity and smaller grain size, which contributes to the better electrochemical performance of the cathode electrodes. From EIS measurements, the bulk resistance is reduced, which favors the intercalation and de-intercalation of lithium ions while cycling.

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) has become the most common chronic liver disease with a global prevalence of about 55% in people with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). T2DM, obesity and NAFLD are three closely inter-related pathological conditions. In addition, T2DM is one of the strongest clinical risk factors for the faster progression of NAFLD to non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. Increasing evidence suggests that newer classes of glucose-lowering drugs, such as peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor agonists, glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists, dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitors or sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 inhibitors, could reduce the rates of NAFLD progression. This narrative review aims to briefly summarize the recent results from randomized controlled trials testing the efficacy and safety of old and new glucose-lowering drugs for the treatment of NAFLD or NASH in adults both with and without coexisting T2DM.
Adaptive DC Voltage Control for Single-phase Hybrid Filter with PV Integration Capability
ChenPei Zheng,NingYi Dai,ManChung Wong,ChiKong Wong,Miao Zhu 전력전자학회 2015 ICPE(ISPE)논문집 Vol.2015 No.6
The operational voltage of the hybrid power filter (HPF) is much lower than an active power filter (APF) when reactive power of inductive loads is compensated. The active power transfer capability of the HPF is utilized to achieve PV generator integration in this paper. The proposed system is a low cost solution for power quality conditioning and PV integration in modern buildings. The low dc voltage reduces the energy stored in the dc capacitor and is safer for building-integrated PV systems. In order to reduce switching loss and switching noises, an adaptive dc voltage controller is proposed. The dc-link voltage as well as the power flow controllable range of the HPF is adaptively changed according to different loading and PV generator output. Simulation and experimental results are provided to show the effectiveness of the adaptive dc voltage control method.
