Mammalian circadian clock is composed of two feedback loops, a Per-Cry and Clock-Bmal1-Rev-erb loops, which are interlocked each other. This paper examines the effect of the interlocked loops from an aspect of robustness by means of simulations with hybrid functional Petri net technique, showing that Ror gene plays an important role for keeping robust oscillation in the interlocked loops of mammalian circadian clock.
Evaluation of Steering Model depending on Gazing Distance by using Driving Simulator
Yuki Shida,Hiroshi Okajima,Daisuke Matsuno,Nobutomo Matsunaga 제어로봇시스템학회 2016 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2016 No.10
To analyze the driving behavior is important for design a comfortable automatic driving. So far, conventional PID models was widely used to steer the vehicle. It had been assumed that the driver looks at the constant point in conventional PID model. However, all drivers have experiences that the gazing distance changes according to the situations. The PID gain of the steering model are modified depending on driver’s gazing distance. The facts are familiar, but the relationship between driver’s steering gain and the gazing distance has not been clarified yet. If this relation becomes clear, it can be helpful for the comfortable driving assistance and/or automatic driving systems to provide for each driver. In this paper, how to model the steering behavior is discussed and steering model depending on gazing distance is proposed. The features of the model are real-time measurement of gazing distance, and incorporating the gazing distance explicitly into a model. The effectiveness of the model is evaluated using a Honda driving simulator assuming an actual driving environment.
Extension of Artificial Genetic Circuits with Mathematical Analysis
Manabu Sugii,Hiroshi Matsuno 대한전자공학회 2015 ITC-CSCC :International Technical Conference on Ci Vol.2015 No.6
Synthetic biology is a study which aims at constructing artificial genetic circuits with the support of computational methods to understand biosystems deeply. We proposed a new procedure to design a computational model of a genetic circuit based on logical and dynamical formalisms. In this report, we investigated the mathematical behavior of the dynamic model for the artificial genetic oscillation circuit consisted of three genes by our proposed procedure, and compered with the one of the 3-state genetic toggle circuit by defining the differential equations for these genetic circuits and analyzing their nullclines. Each gene which composes the genetic oscillation circuit is activated cyclically by regulating each other, and the 3-state genetic toggle circuit is finally transformed into any one of three stable states.
A New Broadcast Method to Prevent Packet Collisions over Biased Terminal Arrangement
Tetsuya Shigeyasu,Hiroshi Matsuno,Shozo Komaki 대한전자공학회 2008 ITC-CSCC :International Technical Conference on Ci Vol.2008 No.7
IEEE802.11DCF is widely used wireless LAN standard. But, packet delivery ratio of broadcast transmission is much lower than unicast transmission because the IEEE802.11DCF executes broadcast transmission without RTS/CTS exchange and ACK process. Hence, many protocols have been proposed to improve reliability of the broadcast transmission. Most of these protocols are proposed based on collision recovery policy using ACK signal or NACK signal instead of ACK frame. Then, transmission overhead is increased by retransmission under the condition that network contains some hidden terminals since ACK or NACK signal could not prevent transmission of hidden terminals. This paper proposes a new broadcast protocol based on collision prevention policy using modified RTS/CTS exchange, and clarifies that our proposed protocol achieved highly reliability even in the biased and nobiased distributed terminals arrangement.

Ren Wu,Yuya Matsuura,Hiroshi Matsuno 대한전자공학회 2015 ITC-CSCC :International Technical Conference on Ci Vol.2015 No.6
This paper discusses generation of language family-trees by using a tool brought from molecular phylogenetics. Focusing on Indo-European languages and Altaic languages, we show the experimental result of generating language family-trees based on basic vocabulary and discuss the topologies of our generated language family-trees for comparison with other researches.
Evaluation of N-myristoylation Prediction Tool using Machine Learning
Sayaka Kado,Ryo Okada,Manabu Sugii,Hiroshi Matsuno,Satoru Miyano 대한전자공학회 2008 ITC-CSCC :International Technical Conference on Ci Vol.2008 No.7
Protein sequences constitute molecular complex in an organism. However it is difficult to find a sequence rule such as cascade reaction signals, post translational modification signals and so on. These sequence signals perform an essential role in regulating cellular structure and function. In previous study, we could find sequence rules of Nmyristoylated proteins easily with computational approach. Subsequently, we have developed a CGI tool to predict Nmyristoylated proteins with their sequence rules. In this study, we performed accuracy evaluation of our developed CGI tool. As a result, we show that developed CGI tool predict Nmyristoylated proteins effectively with characteristics of Nmyristoylated protein sequences.

High-dose methotrexate-based chemotherapy has extended survival in patients with primary central nervous system lymphoma (PCNSL). However, although salvage treatment is necessary in recurrent and refractory PCNSL, this has not been standardized. We herein describe the efficacy of a combination of rituximab and temozolomide (TMZ) in two consecutive patients with recurrent and refractory PCNSL. Based on the immunohistochemical study, case 1 had a non-germinal center B-cell-like (non-GCB) subtype, was positive for bcl-2 and negative for O6-methylguanine-DNA methyltransferase (MGMT). Case 2 was GCB subtype, bcl-2-, and MGMT+. Because of the positive expression of MGMT, interferon-beta was additionally given in case 2. Complete responses and partial responses were obtained after the third and fourth cycles of combination therapy, respectively. This was maintained for 12 months, with acceptable toxicity. The combination of rituximab and TMZ was effective in tumors with different immunohistochemical profiles. This combination therapy warrants further study in a larger population.

For the purpose of mapping linguistic features of the world’s languages, it is necessary to identify the languages in Yamamoto-Data and SilGIS-Data. In this paper, firstly we point out the problems in the primary method that uses language name(s) for language identification. Secondly, noticing that the world’s languages are classified and grouped into languages family trees, we propose an improved method for the language classification. Finally, we give our experimental results.
Delay Time Estimation for Petri Net Models of Signaling Pathways Based on Experimental Data
Yoshimasa Miwa,Kanji Hioka,Chen Li,Hiroshi Matsuno,Satoru Miyano 대한전자공학회 2008 ITC-CSCC :International Technical Conference on Ci Vol.2008 No.7
In this paper, we propose a delay time estimation algorithm for Petri net models of signaling pathways based on experimental data. Firstly, we model signaling pathways (we use the example of ErbB4 receptor signaling pathway) with discrete Petri nets. Then, we propose a delay time estimation algorithm for Petri net models with experimental data, and assign estimated delay times to a model to be run on the simulation tool Cell Illustrator 3.0. Finally, we verify the simulation result by comparing with the experimental data and evaluate the performance of the estimation algorithm.
