      • A Drop Aware TCP Rate Control Algorithm for Heterogenic Internet Access

Bin Zeng,Lu Yao 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Future Generation Communi Vol.9 No.7

In this paper, an end-to-end TCP throughput control mechanism called DARCA has been presented. DARCA controls TCP throughput through introducing extra packet drop rate or round trip time. The extra packet drop rate and round trip time are calculated from Throughput Control Mode. It provides single point control of end-to-end TCP throughput even if some of the bottlenecks are remote. DARCA identifies remotely bottlenecked TCP connections and provide polices of excess bandwidth redistribution. Further, per class control mechanism is used to reduce the overhead of rate enforcement. Simulation results show that DARCA gives good policy-based throughput control performance for both homogeneous and heterogeneous TCP connections.

Novel Five-Level Three-Phase Hybrid-Clamped Converter with Reduced Components

        Bin Chen,Wenxi Yao,Zhengyu Lu 전력전자학회 2014 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.14 No.6

This study proposes a novel five-level three-phase hybrid-clamped converter composed of only six switches and one flying capacitor (FC) per phase. The capacitor-voltage-drift phenomenon of the converter under the classical sinusoidal pulse width modulation (SPWM) strategy is comprehensively analyzed. The average current, which flows into the FC, is a function of power factor and modulation index and does not remain at zero. Thus, a specific modulation strategy based on space vector modulation (SVM) is developed to balance the voltage of DC-link and FCs by injecting a common-mode voltage. This strategy applies the five-segment method to synthesize the voltage vector, such that switching losses are reduced while optional vector sequences are increased. The best vector sequence is then selected on the basis of the minimized cost function to suppress the divergence of the capacitor voltage. This study further proposes a startup method that charges the DC-link and FCs without any additional circuits. Simulation and experimental results verify the validity of the proposed converter, modulation strategy, and precharge method.

Failure characteristics of combined coal-rock with different interfacial angles

        Zhao, Tong-Bin,Guo, Wei-Yao,Lu, Cai-Ping,Zhao, Guang-Ming Techno-Press 2016 Geomechanics & engineering Vol.11 No.3

In order to investigate the influence of the interfacial angel on failure characteristics and mechanism of combined coal-rock mass, 35 uniaxial/biaxial compressive simulation tests with 5 different interfacial angels of combined coal-rock samples were conducted by PFC2D software. The following conclusions are drawn: (1) The compressive strength and cohesion decrease with the increase of interfacial angle, which is defined as the angle between structure plane and the exterior normal of maximum principal plane, while the changes of elastic modulus and internal friction angle are not obvious; (2) The impact energy index $K_E$ decreases with the increase of interfacial angle, and the slip failure of the interface can be predicted based on whether the number of acoustic emission (AE) hits has multiple peaks or not; (3) There are four typical failure patterns for combined coal-rock samples including I (V-shaped shear failure of coal), II (single-fracture shear failure of coal), III (shear failure of rock and coal), and IV (slip rupture of interface); and (4) A positive correlation between interfacial angle and interface effect is shown obviously, and the interfacial angle can be divided into weak-influencing scope ($0-15^{\circ}$), moderate-influencing scope ($15-45^{\circ}$), and strong-influencing scope (> $45^{\circ}$), respectively. However, the confining pressure has a certain constraint effect on the interface effect.

Comparative Lipidomic Analysis of Cephalosporium acremonium Insights into Industrial and Pilot Fermentations

        Rui-Juan Xu,Bin Qiao,Bing-Zhi Li,Hua Lu,Yao Chen,Ying-Jin Yuan 한국생물공학회 2012 Biotechnology and Bioprocess Engineering Vol.17 No.2

Cephalosporium acremonium has been widely applied in industrial cephalosporin C fermentation. However, little is known about the molecular basis of fermentation behavior of this strain. In this study, comparative lipidomic analysis using LC/ESI/MSn technology was employed to investigate responses of Cephalosporium acremonium to multiple environment variations in realistic industrial cephalosporin C fermentation process and provide molecular basis for the discrepancies between industrial and pilot fermentations. Totally 77 phospholipids species were detected and 65 species were further quantified. Score plot revealed that phospholipids metabolism differed in industrial and pilot process. Loading pilot indicated that the main variables responsible for the discrimination of industrial and pilot process were phosphatidylinositols (PIs), phosphatidylserines (PSs) and phosphatic acids (PAs). Higher PIs content in industrial process indicated that cells were more vigorous in industrial process than those in pilot process. Larger increases of PSs, PAs and ratio of oleic acid to linoleic acid coincided well with the earlier and more thorough cellular morphological differentiation in industrial process. The synergetic reaction between cellular behavior and cells living environment led to titer discrepancies between industrial and pilot process. These findings provided lipidomic insights into industrial cephalosporin C production. Cephalosporium acremonium has been widely applied in industrial cephalosporin C fermentation. Construction of antibacterial nano-silver embedded bioactive hydrogel to repair infectious skin defects

        Qi Dong,Dan Zu,Lingqiang Kong,Sunfang Chen,Jun Yao,Jiawei Lin,Lei Lu,Bing Wu,Bin Fang 한국생체재료학회 2022 생체재료학회지 Vol.26 No.3

Background: Hydrogels loaded with antimicrobial agents have been widely used for treating infected wound defects. However, hydrogels derived from a porcine dermal extracellular matrix (PADM), containing silver nanoparticles (AgNPs), have not yet been studied. Therefore, we investigated the therapeutic effect of an AgNP-impregnated PADM (AgNP–PADM) hydrogel on the treatment of infected wounds. Methods: An AgNP–PADM hydrogel was synthesized by embedding AgNPs into a PADM hydrogel. We examined the porosity, moisture retention, degradation, antibacterial properties, cytotoxicity, antioxidant properties, and ability of the PADM and AgNP–PADM hydrogels to treat infected wounds in animals. Results: The PADM and AgNP–PADM hydrogels were pH sensitive, which made them flow dynamically and solidify under acidic and neutral conditions, respectively. The hydrogels also exhibited porous network structures, satisfactory moisture retention, and slow degradation. Additionally, the AgNP–PADM hydrogel showed a slow and sustained release of AgNPs for at least 7 days without the particle size changing. Thus, the AgNPs exhibited adequate antibacterial ability, negligible toxicity, and antioxidant properties in vitro. Moreover, the AgNP–PADM hydrogel promoted angiogenesis and healed infected skin defects in vivo. Conclusions: The AgNP–PADM hydrogel is a promising bioderived antibacterial material for clinical application to infected wound dressings

The complete mitochondrial genome of Tuta absoluta (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae) and genetic variation in two newly invaded populations in China

        Li Xiao-wei,Fu Kai-Yun,Guo Wen-Chao,Wang Tian-zhen,Lu Yao-bin 한국응용곤충학회 2022 Journal of Asia-Pacific Entomology Vol.25 No.4

Tuta absoluta (Meyrick) (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae) is a devastating invasive pest worldwide, causing severe damage to tomatoes. Recently, it has been recorded in the northwestern and southwestern parts of China. Here, the mitogenomes and genetic variation of two newly invaded T. absoluta populations in Xinjiang and Yunnan, were determined. The results showed that the complete mitogenome size of T. absoluta is 15298 bp for the in dividual from Xinjiang and 15296 bp for the individual from Yunnan, which were both longer than the reported mitogenome from Spain (15290 bp). The mitogenome sequences of individuals collected from three locations showed high levels of sequence similarity, except for 8 polymorphic sites, which were in genes cox2 (1 site), cox3 (2 sites), cob (1 site), atp6 (1 site), nad1 (2 sites) and nad5 (1 site). Tuta absoluta mitogenomes share many features with other 6 Gelechiidae mitogenomes, except for several differences in the start and stop codons of protein-coding genes and the length of intergenic spacers. Seven partial mitochondrial genes (cox1, cox2, cox3, atp6, cob, nad1, and nad5) were used for genetic variation analysis, and significant population differentiation was found between the two populations based on cox2, atp6, nad1, and nad5. The complete mitogenomes and sen sitive mitochondrial gene markers reported here provide useful data for further population genetics study of this pest.

      • Efficacy of Pap Test in Combination with ThinPrep Cytological Test in Screening for Cervical Cancer

        Chen, Hua,Shu, Hui-Min,Chang, Zhou-Lin,Wang, Zhi-Feng,Yao, Hai-Hong,Zhu, Hong-Mei,Lu, Tian-Mei,Ma, Qiang-Yan,Yang, Bin-Lie Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2012 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.13 No.4

Background: Our aim was to investigate the efficacy of the Pap test in combination with the ThinPrep cytological test (TCT) in screening for cervical cancer in China. Design: From March 2006 to October 2008, 988 women with the mean age $46.4{\pm}10.5$ years (range, 23-80 years) were recruited to receive cervical cancer screening. Pap test results ${\geq}$ grade III and TCT findings ${\geq}$ ASCUS/AGUS were considered abnormal. Subjects with a Pap test result ${\geq}$ grade IIb received TCT. Colposcopy and biopsies were performed in all participants, and final diagnosis was based on pathological findings. The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value (PPV), negative predictive value (NPV) and Youden index for predicting CIN I or above were determined. Results: The sensitivity, specificity, PPV, NPV and Youden index of the Pap test were 43.1%, 97.2%, 70.0%, 91.9%, and 40.3%, respectively. The same values for TCT in predicting CIN were 80.0%, 63.2%, 16.0%, 97.3%, and 43.2%, respectively. The two tests in combination gave values for predicting CIN of 64.8%, 87.6%, 43.6%, 94.4%, and 53.5%, respectively. Combined testing exhibited the highest Youden index (53.4%). Conclusion: The Pap test with a reduced threshold in combination with the TCT has high sensitivity and high specificity in screening for cervical cancer.
