        Region Division for Large-scale Image Retrieval

        Large-scale retrieval algorithm is problem for visual analyses applications, along its research track. In this paper, we propose a high-efficiency region division-based image retrieve approaches, which fuse low-level local color histogram feature and texture feature. A novel image region division is proposed to roughly mimic the location distribution of image color and deal with the color histogram failing to describe spatial information. Furthermore, for optimizing our region division retrieval method, an image descriptor combining local color histogram and Gabor texture features with reduced feature dimensions are developed. Moreover, we propose an extended Canberra distance method for images similarity measure to increase the fault-tolerant ability of the whole large-scale image retrieval. Extensive experimental results on several benchmark image retrieval databases validate the superiority of the proposed approaches over many recently proposed color-histogram-based and texture-feature-based algorithms.

        Application of Soft X-ray Tomography on HL-2A

        Soft X-ray tomography is an important tool to study various phenomena in fusion plasmas, such as MHD events, sawteeth, and disruption. Central MHD instabilities can be observed with pinhole cameras to record soft X-ray emission from the plasma along 120 chords with high temporal resolution on HL-2A. Tomographic inversion can be obtained by various methods. The main tomography reconstruction techniques applied to soft X-ray tomography on HL-2A were the Cormack method [1] and Bessel expansion [2]. Using Bessel expansion, we can decrease the expansion term and thus reconstruct a fine image near the boundary. However, the precision of the center of the reconstructed image is lower than that by using the Cormack method. The soft X-ray system mainly detects the MHD instabilities of the central plasma, so we choose the Cormack method to reconstruct the internal magnetic structure of the plasma on HL-2A.TP

        Optimization-based Image Watermarking Algorithm Using a Maximum-Likelihood Decoding Scheme in the Complex Wavelet Domain

        Most existing wavelet-based multiplicative watermarking methods are affected by geometric attacks to a certain extent. A serious limitation of wavelet-based multiplicative watermarking is its sensitivity to rotation, scaling, and translation. In this study, we propose an image watermarking method by using dual-tree complex wavelet transform with a multi-objective optimization approach. We embed the watermark information into an image region with a high entropy value via a multiplicative strategy. The major contribution of this work is that the trade-off between imperceptibility and robustness is simply solved by using the multi-objective optimization approach, which applies the watermark error probability and an image quality metric to establish a multi-objective optimization function. In this manner, the optimal embedding factor obtained by solving the multi-objective function effectively controls watermark strength. For watermark decoding, we adopt a maximum likelihood decision criterion. Finally, we evaluate the performance of the proposed method by conducting simulations on benchmark test images. Experiment results demonstrate the imperceptibility of the proposed method and its robustness against various attacks, including additive white Gaussian noise, JPEG compression, scaling, rotation, and combined attacks.

        Complex Current Controller Design Based on Multiple Equations Construction of Three-Phase Inverter

        This paper proposes a complex PI current controller design method of three-phase inverter based on multiple equations construction. The mathematical model of three-phase inverter system plays an important role in the controller design process. In the synchronous reference frame, the inverter model introduces coupling elements, which is diff erent from the model in the stationary reference frame and brings diffi culty for current controller design. Complex vector model (CVM) is introduced in the current loop, which is established in the synchronous reference frame and takes part in the current controller design. Multiple equations construction is established to solve the parameters of the complex PI current controller. Because the controller satisfi es the restrictions of the multiple equations, it can realize good dynamic performance and the coupling characteristic of the three-phase system. In this paper, the CVM is established. The process of construct and solve the multiple equations is analyzed in detail. The accuracy of the inverter system is validated. Finally the simulation and experimental results are given to verify the theoretical analysis.

        Effects of stocking density on the homeostasis of uric acid and related liver and kidney functions in ducks

        Objective: Stocking density (SD) is an important issue in the poultry industry, which is related to the production performance, intestinal health and immune status. In the present study, the effects of SD on the metabolism and homeostasis of uric acid as well as the related functions of the liver and kidney in ducks were examined. Methods: A total of 360 healthy 56-day-old Shan-ma ducks were randomly divided into the low stocking density (n = 60, density = 5 birds/m2 ), medium stocking density (n = 120, density = 10 birds/m2 ) and high stocking density groups (HSD; n = 180, density = 15 birds/m2 ). Samples were collected in the 3rd, 6th, and 9th weeks of the experiment for analysis. Results: The serum levels of uric acid, lipopolysaccharide and inflammatory cytokines (interleukin-1β [IL-1β], IL-8, and tumor necrosis factor-α [TNF-α]) were increased significantly in the HSD group. Serious histopathological lesions could be seen in both the livers and kidneys in the HSD group in the 9th week. The mRNA expression levels of inflammatory cytokines (IL-8 and TNF-α) and related pathway components (toll-like receptor 4, myeloid differentiation primary response gene 88, and nuclear factor-κB) were increased significantly in both the livers and kidneys in the HSD group. The mRNA expression levels of enzymes (adenosine deaminase, xanthine oxidase, phosphoribosyl pyrophosphate amidotransferase, and phosphoribosyl pyrophosphate synthetase 1) related to the synthesis of uric acid increased significantly in the livers in the HSD group. However, the mRNA expression level of solute carrier family 2 member 9, which plays an important role in the excretion of uric acid by the kidney, was decreased significantly in the kidneys in the HSD group. Conclusion: These results indicated that a higher SD could cause tissue inflammatory lesions in the liver and kidney and subsequently affect the metabolism and homeostasis of uric acid, and is helpful for guiding decisions related to the breeding and production of ducks.
