        Development of a Methodology to Monitor NOX Emission of urea-SCR System

        In order to ensure the engine’s in-use emission performance, the heavy-duty On Board Diagnostics (OBD) are required by most of the regulations to be applied to all on-highway engines, whose key part is the NOX emissions monitoring with a defined NOX OBD threshold. In this paper, two different NOX emission prediction methods based on the tailpipe NOX sensor are proposed: Quasi-steady State Prediction method (QSP method) and Two-stage Integral Prediction method (TIP method), which were verified in the bench tests and field trial. And the test results show that the prediction errors of the two methods are within ± 0.5 g/kWh under high NH3 slip. Moreover, in addition to the high accuracy, QSP method can quickly spot the degradation of the SCR system, and thus can be adopted in the Adblue dosage control strategy to offer robustness.

        Generation of Selenoprotein with Glutathione Peroxidase Activity by Chemical Modification of the Single-chain Variable Fragment Expressed in a Single-protein Production System and Its Antioxidant Ability

        Glutathione peroxidase (GPX) is one of the important members of the antioxidant enzyme family. It can catalyze the reduction of hydroperoxides with glutathione to protect cells against oxidative damage. Single-chain variable fragment (scFv) can be converted into seleniumcontaining single-chain variable fragment (Se-scFv) by chemical modification of the hydroxyl groups in scFv, thus Se-scFv possesses GPX activity and becomes a prodrug. To improve the expression of scFv and simplify its purification steps, Single-protein production (SPP) system was used to express scFv and chemical modification was used to synthesize Se-scFv. Therefore, we must construct a new scFv-WCD1-lessACA gene, which can express its mRNA not containing any ACA sequences and express its amino acid sequence of target protein (scFv) being same to scFv-WCD1. In this way, the scFv-WCD1-lessACA can be only expressed in SPP system and no other background proteins in the cells could be expressed. The expression results showed that high level of scFv-WCD1-lessACA synthesis was at least sustained for 96 h in the virtual absence of background protein synthesis. Then, selenocysteine (Sec) was incorporated into the scFv-WCD1-lessACA by chemical modification and resulted in Se-scFv-WCD1-lessACA. The enzymatic characteristics of Se-scFv-WCD1-lessACA were determined. GPX activity was 2,563 U/μmol,its binding constant for GSH was 0.687 ×105/mol. Moreover,Se-scFv-WCD1-lessACA was confirmed to have a strong antioxidant ability to protect mitochondria against oxidative damage induced by Vc/Fe2+ (mitochondrial damage model),suggesting that Se-scFv-WCD1-lessACA has potential application for protection of mitochondrial damage induced by reactive oxygen species (ROS).

        Effects of Work-function Variation on Performance of Junctionless and Inversion-mode Dual-metal Gate Nanowire Transistors

        This study compares junctionless (JL) and inversion-mode (IM) dual-metal gate (DMG) nanowire transistors in terms of their performance fluctuations caused by work-function variation (WFV) through computer-aided-design simulation, To the best of our knowledge, this is the first of such an investigation. From the variability of the performance parameters, including the threshold voltage (VTH), transconductance (gm), saturation current (Isat), and subthreshold slope (SS), we observe that IM devices have stronger immunity to WFV than JL devices in terms of VTH and SS, whereas JL devices perform better in terms of Isat and gm from the relative fluctuation perspective. Moreover, the impact of WFV is found to become more severe as the ratio of the metal gate near the source to the entire metal gate decreases. In summary, our study can serve as a reference for optimizing the distribution of the two metals in the design of JL and IM DMG nanowire transistors.

        Effects of Trapezoidal Fin Shape on Performance of Negative-capacitance FinFETs

        In this study, a negative-capacitance fin field effect transistor (NC-FinFET) with a varying trapezoidal fin shape is proposed. The effects of varying the width of the top fin on the performance of the trapezoidal NC-FinFET with different ferroelectric layer thicknesses are investigated in detail. Using the technology computer-aided design simulation, it was determined that the trapezoidal NC-FinFET has lower on- and off-state currents and a higher switching current ratio, as well as a higher threshold voltage, than a traditional rectangular NC-FinFET. Thus, the device demonstrates an improved subthreshold swing and drain-induced barrier lowering. Unlike a conventional trapezoidal FinFET, the variations in the parameter performance for an NC-FinFET exhibit non-uniform trends. This study provides a predictive estimation for trapezoidal fin-induced variations in an NC-FinFET at the early design stage.

      • An Improved Kernel Clustering Algorithm for Mixed-Type Data in Network Forensic

        Clustering algorithm is a common analysis technology for network forensics, which, lacking of any prior knowledge, can effectively find out the invasions by analyzing the collected real-time communication data flowing through the network. This paper proposed an improved dynamic kernel clustering algorithm for mixed numeric and categorical network communication data. First, centroid prototype based on the mean and distribution centroid was put forward to represent the cluster center. Then by using Gaussian kernel function, the paper introduced a new dissimilarity measure between the data object and the centroid prototype in combination with the significance of different categorical values. On this basis, the objective function was defined, which took into account both the compact degree in a cluster and the discrete degree among the clusters. After that an improved kernel clustering algorithm was designed. In the process of clustering, centroid prototype and the value of the clustering parameter dynamically updated for a better description of the characteristics of clusters’ change. Finally, in order to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the algorithm, the paper further applied it to network forensics, and the experimental results showed that the method could mine the intrusion behavior more accurately.
