The importance of economic power system operation is becoming even greater as the scale of system continues to expand. Traditional economic operation has been based on the equal incremental cost rule and the consideration of transmission loss is later introduced. Since transmission loss is affected not only by real-power but also reactive-power, additional reactive power control is necessary when the operation is based on the classical methods. Since the late 1960s, the optimal load flow formulations have accomplished the economic operation target using various linear and/or non-linear optimization techniques, and these formulations are still under keen research interest today. This paper proposes a simple and efficient formulation for power system economic operation. The proposed method keeps the simplicity of the classical methodology and enables to accomplish the operation target simultaneously. The proposed formulation is characterized by introducing directly distributed transmission loss concept and defining the bus transmission loss power equation. The proposed method is tested on three sample power systems and compared with the known results, and its potential has fully been verified.
콘텐츠 중심 네트워킹을 위한 효율적인 미디어 스트림 전송 기법

최근 다양한 스마트 기기들이 개발되고 수많은 사용자가 스마트 기기로 인터넷, 미디어, 게임 등을 사용함으로써 매년 인터넷 트래픽이 폭증하게 되었고, 그로인해 네트워크를 효율적으로 활용하기 위한 방법들이 연구되고 있다. 콘텐츠 중심 네트워킹(CCN)은 콘텐츠 이름을 기반으로 주소 체계를 만들며, 각 CCN 노드들이 전송된 데이터를 저장하여 네트워크상에서 발생하는 트래픽 양을 줄이고, 빠른 응답시간 또한 보장할 수 있는 미래인터넷 아키텍처이다. 본 논문에서는 CCN에서 하나의 Interest 패킷을 이용하여 n개의 Data 패킷을 받는 기법을 미디어 스트리밍에 적용하는 방식과 패킷 손실에 대응하는 방안을 제안한다. 또한 제안한 방식이 기존 CCN방식보다 Interest 패킷의 발생량과 패킷손실율의 측면에서 우수함을 보인다. Recently, a variety of smart devices have been developed and a number of users uses smart devices for accessing Internet, multimedia contents and game contents. For this reason, the traffic on internet has been burst tremendously, thereby the methods for an efficient utilization of network are being studied in these days. Content-centric networking is a future internet architecture, with an innovative addressing system based on the name of the content and with each of content nodes caches all the transferred data to reduce the amount of overall traffic that will flow over the network and to ensure faster response time. In this paper, we propose techniques of media streaming where a client receives n data packets using single Interest packet. This proposal also deals with possible packet losses. The simulation result shows the superiority of the proposed method to the conventional CCN in terms of amount of generated Interest packet and packet loss rate.
ANNEALING BEHAVIORS OF TiO_2-SHEATHED SnO_2 NANORODS

We report the preparation and thermal annealing of SnO_2-core/TiO_2-shell nanorods using a two-step process comprising the thermal evaporation of Snpowders and the sputter-deposition of TiO_2. X-ray diffraction analysis revealed that the shells were crystallized by annealing. Photoluminescence measurements showed that the major yellow emission of the SnO_2 nanorods was enhanced in intensity by sheathing them with TiO_2 and was further enhanced by annealing. A reducing atmosphere was found to be more efficient in enhancing the yellow emission by annealing than an oxidative atmosphere. The origin of the emission enhancement by coating and annealing is also discussed.

This paper deals with the optimal weekly operation problem of a pumped-storage plant in order to determine the optimal pumping and shaving level which minimizes total fuel costs of thermal plants. A new algorithm based on the maximum principle is derived. From the results of and application to two sample systems, the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is demonstrated.
