Effect of sintering atmosphere on the structure and dielectric properties of BSIT ceramics

In this paper, the effects of O2 and N2 sintering atmospheres on the physical phase and microstructure of BSIT ceramics wereinvestigated by using In3+-doped BST ceramics as the research object. And then the dielectric properties of the ceramics inthe frequency range of 20Hz-300000 Hz were investigated by constructing ceramic capacitors. The results show that theceramic sintered in N2 atmosphere has a denser morphology and a higher dielectric constant of 862 compared with the ceramicsintered in O2 atmosphere, and the dielectric loss is reduced by about 39% in the high frequency stage.

The circadian clock allows plants to synchronize their flower opening and closing rhythms with daily environmental changes to enhance fertility and adaptability. Flowers of Iris dichotoma, I. domestica and their hybrids are ephemeral and present robust opening and closing rhythms. To reveal the key genes regulating flower opening and closing, transcriptome changes during the same time course but different flowering processes were compared between two F2 hybrid plants of Iris dichotoma and I. domestica with divergent flower opening and closing times. Clock-related gene PHYTOCHROME-INTERACTING FACTOR 4-like was specifically down-regulated during flower starting opening and was specifically up-regulated during flower starting closing. Genes promoting auxin synthesis, auxin efflux, auxin signaling, cellular water uptake, cell wall loosening and the increase of osmotic pressure were specifically up-regulated during flower starting opening, suggesting their positive regulation on the start of a flower opening. The overexpression of auxin-responsive gene SMALL AUXIN UP-REGULATED RNA 64-like in tobacco promoted flower opening of tobacco. During flower starting closing, genes promoting cell wall synthesis and loosening, cellular water uptake and osmoregulation were specifically down-regulated, while genes promoting the degradation of cell wall and protein were specifically up-regulated. The results improve the understanding of regulatory networks of flower opening and closing.
Experimental Study on Soil Deformation during Sampler Penetration

Disturbance at the stage of penetration during soil sampling induces the deformation of samples, causing unreliable results on the determination of soil properties. In order to minimize the disturbance on soil during the penetration process, the displacement field around the tube sampling and influence factors on disturbance are investigated widely. However, there is a lack of effective observation on the development of soil movement at axis and on cross sections with the increase in the penetration depth, which should be studied individually at a certain penetration depth. This paper presents the effect of different sampler penetration depths on the development of soil at central axis and on cross sections through a series of 1-g physical model tests using the particle image velocimetry (PIV) technique. Results show that with the increase in the penetration depth, the correlation between the maximum compression deformation at central axis and the depth corresponding location may be approximated a hyperbola. Moreover, the surface of clay presents the downward compression deformation while that of sand presents the upward deformation. Furthermore, the disturbance influence depth of soil at central axis increases approximately linearly with the increase in the penetration depth. For the sand, the correlation between sensitivity on cross sections and depth presents approximately a line while that of clay presents a hyperbola. These deformation correlations provide useful references for detail predicting the overall deformation curve at a certain penetration depth, which helps to further develop and validate analytical or numerical solutions for this problem.
