In order to precisely assess gene expression levels, the suitable internal reference genes must be served to quantify real‐time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT‐qPCR) data. For armyworm, Mythimna separata, which reference genes are suitable for assessing the level of transcriptional expression of target genes have yet to be explored. In this study, eight common reference genes, including β‐actin (β‐ACT), 18 s ribosomal (18S), 28S ribosomal (28S), glyceraldehyde‐3‐phosphate (GAPDH), elongation fator‐alpha (EF1α), TATA box binding protein (TBP), ribosomal protein L7 (RPL7), and alpha‐tubulin (α‐TUB) that in different developmental stages, tissues and insecticide treatments of M. separata were evaluated. To further explore whether these genes were suitable to serve as endogenous controls, three software‐based approaches (geNorm, BestKeeper, and NormFinder), the delta Ct method, and one web‐based comprehensive tool (RefFinder) were employed to analyze and rank the tested genes. The optimal number of reference genes was determined using the geNorm program, and the suitability of particular reference genes was empirically validated according to normalized HSP70, and MsepCYP321A10 gene expression data. We found that the most suitable reference genes for the different experimental conditions. For developmental stages, 28S/RPL7 were the optimal reference genes, both RPL7/EF1α were suitable for experiments of different tissues, whereas for insecticide treatments, 28S/α‐TUB were suitable for normalizations of expression data. In addition, 28S/α‐TUB were the suitable reference genes because they have the most stable expression among different developmental stages, tissues and insecticide treatments. Our work is the first report on reference gene selection in M. separata, and might serve as a precedent for future gene expression studies.
A SIMULATION STUDY ON THE PROCESS OF NICKEL FILLING INTO CARBON NANOTUBES

Carbon Nanotubes (CNTs) filled with metals can be used in capacitors, sensors, rechargeable batteries and so on. In this study, the process of Nickel filling into single wall CNTs was studied by molecular dynamics (MD) simulation. Three models consisting of Nickel atoms and CNTs were established. These models were cooled from 1500 K to 100 K to analyze the factors that infuence the filling height, such as temperature, the force between Carbon and Nickel atoms, as well as CNTs diameter. The results showed that filling height increased as the temperature and the force between Carbon–Nickel atoms rised. Filling height reduced with the increasing diameter of CNTs.
Refined identification of hybrid traffic in DNS tunnels based on regression analysis

DNS (Domain Name System) tunnels almost obscure the true network activities of users, which makes it challenging for the gateway or censorship equipment to identify malicious or unpermitted network behaviors. An efficient way to address this problem is to conduct a temporal-spatial analysis on the tunnel traffic. Nevertheless, current studies on this topic limit the DNS tunnel to those with a single protocol, whereas more than one protocol may be used simultaneously. In this paper, we concentrate on the refined identification of two protocols mixed in a DNS tunnel. A feature set is first derived from DNS query and response flows, which is incorporated with deep neural networks to construct a regression model. We benchmark the proposed method with captured DNS tunnel traffic, the experimental results show that the proposed scheme can achieve identification accuracy of more than 90%. To the best of our knowledge, the proposed scheme is the first to estimate the ratios of two mixed protocols in DNS tunnels.

This paper presents a fuzzy normal estimate for mass point clouds of irregular models in reconstruction. The irregular model is complex object that some part is smooth and some parts are irregular including sharp features. Therefore, we put kNN and curvature of mass point clouds to fuzzy inference system to divide the kind of point clouds and the output of FIS can determine which part of tooth point clouds belong to. For different kinds point clouds, corresponding algorithm is given. Point clouds in the smooth area are estimated normal by PCA directly and ones in other regions of thin or sharp area are estimated by checker and attach points. This method is simpler than those complex methods used on the whole point clouds directly. The experiment results show that much time is saved and surface reconstruction is very fine than PCA and WLOP.
Renewable magnetic alginate-graphene oxide hybrid for efficient cationic dye removal

A batch system was applied to investigate the behavior of adsorption of methylene blue (MB) and crystal violet (CV) from aqueous solution using a renewable magnetic alginate composite containing graphene oxide (M-GO/ Alg) in single and binary systems. The surface morphology and chemical structure of the adsorbent were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) analysis. The experimental data were fitted by the isotherm models and adsorption kinetics. And the maximum adsorption quantity of MB and CV reached 459.85 and 69.46mg/g at 298 K for M-GO/ Alg, respectively, as deduced from Langmuir model. After five successive adsorptive removal cycles for both dyes, no significant performance loss was observed for M-GO/Alg. Moreover, M-GO/Alg was easily separated under an external magnetic field. In binary system, MB and CV exhibited competitive adsorption. The obtained results suggested that M-GO/Alg can be used as an eco-friendly and recyclable adsorbent to remove cationic dyes from aqueous solutions.
Condition monitoring of inverter power devices based on electromagnetic acoustic emissions

Unlike conventional voltage and current sensing, this paper studies the use of acoustic emission signals to detect the condition of the power device for a DC–AC inverter. As a relatively new method for monitoring power devices, there are some unknown phenomena in acoustic emissions (also called mechanical stress wave). Therefore, the authors present an experimental setup that is used to analyze acoustic emission signals. Based on experimental results, some interesting points have been found: (1) The generation of a mechanical stress wave is verified for the first time. (2) The time-domain peak value, energy, and rise time of the mechanical stress wave at the turn-on time of a power device are barely affected by the load. Meanwhile, these values decrease with an increase of the load at the turn-off time. (3) The frequency-domain peak value of the mechanical stress wave tends to decrease with an increase of the load, and the peak frequency is barely affected by the load. These mechanical stress analysis results can be utilized for condition monitoring in many applications.
